They spy a small little respite, down in one of the empty abandoned buildings. Rat Pokemon scatter at the sight of them, screeching and running away. Inside is a nest, a place where nature is slowly returning. Even in the midst of all this urban decay, there is still beauty in the world. It’s a sign of what will happen to all of these human settlements, one day.[break][break]
“Really makes you think, huh?” He asks as he spies a purple creature eying him from the top of an old busted fridge. Looking up, it hisses quietly – more afraid than angry. Navy can tell the difference.[break][break]

You stare at the pokemon sitting on the fridge. Eye-level with you, you can see its chest beating heavily. Every muscle in its body tenses up, and its quills quiver ever so slightly, ready to lash out at a moment's notice. [break][break]

It's clearly the type of beast that's learned that it needs to fight to survive. [break][break]

Maybe he senses kindred spirits when he sees this eccentric couple. Crawling out of his hiding place, he crawls across someone’s memory of a corner store. Approaches them in the weary way only a creature can. Looks at their food. Nibbles. It’s simple logic. No creature wants to be hungry. Maybe, in this monster’s mind, this is a trap worth the end of his existence, if it truly is a trap.[break][break]
“You’re a cute little guy, aren’tcha? Looks like I might have found another King.” He remembers the big beast he traded away for a Lucario. Lazy as King had been, Navy thinks he got the better part of that deal. “Now we just gotta find him a girlfriend. You can keep her if we find her, Baki.”[break][break]
He teases the girl again. Teasing her’s a bad habit liable to get him killed, but he does it anyway. Just like he used to tease someone else, in another lifetime, far away.[break][break]
Spying that Navy’s backpack is open, the Nidoran hops in. Seems they’ll have more company for the road back home.
