Here he was in another dimension once more, the only difference this time is that there was a new person on his team. Someone he wasn't entirely familiar with, but it mattered little. When the three of them had met up, they teleported into the rift using his Gallade, as was the normal procedure he had set up with Makoto Kurumi during their time exploring the Mechanical Kingdom. A region he wanted to go back, and explore more thoroughly eventually. However they were now in a new biome, which meant that new dangers awaited, and he had no idea what was going to happen in this place. with his Gallade still out, he looked around curiously, and saw what they were in for. It was a massive jungle, the humidity was going to become a problem, but that just meant they would have to get creative.

"I am unaware of your skillset Alba Evovae, while we walk, and talk, why don't you fill the two of us in. If we get into a situation, it's best to know what we are all capable of." So their trek began, he had a rudimentary map from other expeditions that would lead them towards a crater where the soil was supposedly five times more fertile than the soil back in Hoenn. That could have interesting effects, and he wanted to test it, and learn more about it. "Belus, carve a path." he gave the order to his Gallade, and the blades extended from it's arms coated in psychic energy.

It began to Psycho Cut it's way through the thick brush, and vines that were trying to obstruct them, and he kept his eye on the sky. If this was a jungle, a true jungle, most predators would come from above, and he was not keen to be caught off guard by an angry Beedrill, or something worse.

"Keep your guards up." Not that he needed to say that, but he was going to make sure they did regardless, he would rather be safe than sorry.

Makoto Kurumi Alba Evovae

This was very different from the Mechanical Kingdom. Opposite to it, in fact. Whereas the kingdom was ruled by gears and steam, the Ultra Crater was instead ruled by rampant plantlife and insects - the wilderness turned up to 11, as far as the eye could see. Although, it wasn't as though they could see very far as it was, with how thick the jungle was.

A ditto-turned-Gallade would be cooperating with Amor's own - helping to cut a path forward for everyone. Obake, for as odd as they were, was a plenty-valuable addition to Makoto's team.

Meanwhile, Tsume would follow along at Makoto's side - the aged zoroark watching their surroundings carefully, ears perked and twitching at every little sound. He didn't like how close some of the buzzes of local bug pokemon were - or how loud some of those sounds could be. Everything here seemed to be bigger - and given a glimpse he had caught earlier in the trek, he felt that this likely included the insects, too...

Makoto glanced over, when they noticed Tsume staring off in a particular direction - asking "Hear anything?" Besides, of course, the constant noise of the local bugs.

Tsume glanced back to them - considering the question - before shaking his head. No, nothing seemed to be of concern. At least not at this moment.


So for the time being, they walked - Makoto glancing to Seraphim and Alba both as he addressed the newcomer of the trio. That was a good question - what would Alba be able to do for the group, while they were here?

He listened as they cut their way towards their destination, and he got a good grasp of what their new teammate would be able to bring to the table, and that was good. Amor was a man of science as well, but ecology, and things like it were not in his realm of study. So having someone who had even more of an inkling of knowledge in that department was nice. At least that is what he inferred, since the man at least seemed to be some sort of doctor despite his strange 'dissection tool'. Amor had learned a long time ago to just not bother asking questions, some knowledge was truly better off being left. So if the man used a machete to disect things....Who was he to judge?

"Well then it's good to have you along anyways, as Makoto Kurumi, and myself have no experience here. So having someone who knows more will be useful." The robotic voice stated before they finally made their way to their destination. How much time had passed? Usually talking was a good way to pass the time, but any further questions that he wanted to ask were abruptly cut when they reached what appeared to be a large clearing, but found that they were on a slope, that slanted inwards.

"Careful, I think we found our crater...." He explained to the two behind him, as he slowly slid downwards, the thick trees, and jungle cleared up a bit in this area, but he noticed something strange in the center, and so slowly he made his way to it, with his Gallade out in front just to be safe. In bamboo, he began to read what was there, and he just seemed confused. "It's asking for a gift? Is this suppose to be a place of worship?" He posted the question to the other two as he looked around curiously wondering if there was a shrine or something around that they had missed.

"I suppose we may have to come back later to see what this is about." he mused before scanning their surroundings, they had yet to run into a hostile creature, but that was soon going to change.

Alba Evovae Makoto Kurumi

Makoto nodded along as Alba introduced himself, elaborating on his skillset - namely, that of a researcher. "Even a little bit of knowledge is better than nothing," They spoke in agreement to Seraphim's own sentiments; you could never have enough information, when treading into the unknown, after all.

Although, the 'dissection tool' that he seemed to have brought with him was something that Makoto couldn't help but make a slight face at. What sort of things was he dissecting, to need something like that..??

... Nevermind. Makoto decided they didn't want to know.

Instead, they'd allow Obake to steal their attention - the ditto-turned-gallade waving a blade and casting a goofy smile back in their direction. "What'd we find?" Makoto questioned - picking up the pace to meet with the ditto...

... To see that they had reached a clearing - a large one, dominated by a crater at its center. Though Makoto was unsure of the crater's origins or cause - cause surely it wasn't a natural formation - they'd step out into the open alongside Seraphim, to investigate the area.

Sliding down into this earthen bowl proper, they too would take note of the carved bamboo - raising an eyebrow slightly at the message inscribed. "I wonder if bringing a gift would do anything..."

Even if things seemed quiet though, that didn't necessarily mean that it was safe.

Tsume would make a soft growl as he noticed something - that it was quiet, almost unusually so, compared to the near-constant noise of the jungle beyond. Slowly, carefully, he'd begin to prowl forward with intentions of investigating... Only to find himself stopped - falling forward with a startled snarl when his leg caught on something!

The noise drew Makoto's attention - and as they saw the fallen Tsume, seemingly having tripped over nothing, they blinked with concern. "Are you okay?" They asked - stepping to get closer-- Only for Tsume to growl in urgent warning, raising a hand and extending it in their direction to stop them.

And it was then, that Makoto saw it - thin silk, caught on Tsume's ankles. Like a spider's thread. In fact, now that they knew what to look for, there was a number of threads laid out across the crater - threads that the group hadn't run afoul of, until now...

... Almost like something had set a trap here. "We're in danger." They breathed, eyes widening in realization.

Above, the sounds of chittering proved the notion true - a massive Ariados looming at the crater's edge, staring down at its prey. And wasting no time in attempting to ensnare the group, it'd spray a Spider Web down towards them, like a fisherman casting his net!

Amor Rose , Alba Evovae

So taken in with the message at the center of this crater, Amor was caught within the web, and like a butterfly struggling to get away he thrashed before he managed to keep himself still so that he didn't tangle himself further. It appeared that something intelligent was here, and it had seen enough creatures come to this particular place that it had moved habitats to come here, and hunt fresh prey. Though the fact that it was an Ariados coming at them was confusing, he didn't think normal pokemon made their nests in these rifts, but if they did....Then he would have to rethink what he thought about them. The Mechanical Kingdom didn't have normal pokemon, just automatons that were facsimiles. So he watched as the newest member of the trio came to the rescue.

Of course Amor had no idea of Alba Evovae's practice on mostly dead things, so he didn't budge when the man told him to stay still, and after a few moments when he was free once more, and they were staring down a giant Ariados, unfortunately Bug types had an advantage against Psychic types. However that was fine, as Psychics weren't his specialty, and he was irked that he had been caught in a trap. In an instant his Dragonite appeared in a flash of white. Amor was pissed, and it was feeding into his dragons emotion as well.

"You are no longer the Apex Predator here....Draco, burn it down." Amor gave the cold command as both of his Dragon's fists lit up with flames, and then smashed into the ground catching the silk on fire, and watching it spread towards the Ariados.

Dragons were the most diverse type, and got a littany of moves that allowed them to have almost universal coverage for any foe, and above all they were stronger than a mere insect. So as the flames spread out, it gave the Ariados pause, which would be enough time for them to think of a better plan to get out of here, because where there was one, there was usually a nest. Amor didn't think for a second that this insect was alone.

"I think we need to start preparations to leave, but we also need to get those samples before we leave. Makoto I'll leave the plan to you, I'll keep that thing busy. So when it's time to go, don't forget about me." He gave a good natured chuckle to them, as his Dragonite began to battle the Apex of the crater, both of it's fists ignited with fire, and lightning respectively.

Alba Evovae Makoto Kurumi

Spiderwebs were cut away - and Amor's Dragonite burned away what remained. Obake joined in the defense, Transforming into Draco for the added firepower and intimidation factor.

But much like Amor suspected, there wasn't only one Ariados to worry about - the distant sounds of hisses, rustling, and skittering making themselves known. Though things seemed to still be in the favor of the two Dragonites thus far, it was only a matter of time before reinforcements arrived.

Thus, the plan: to get samples, and then to get the hell out of dodge; which Makoto nodded in response to. "Obake and Tsukiko will back you up." They spoke - already sending out Tsukiko, to set up an Aurora Veil to protect the group.

And with that, Makoto turned to Alba. "What do you need me and Tsume to do, to help with samples?" They asked - already prepared to get to work. If you asked them, the bits of web still clinging to peoples' clothing would probably be a good start for samples - but soil and plant samples were important, to... Perhaps something from the bamboo that the gift message was written on?

The group would have to work quickly... But if one paid attention to the glances Makoto kept casting towards the treeline, perhaps it'd become obvious just how intently they were planning an escape route for everyone.

Amor Rose , Alba Evovae

Right now they were essentially ants caught in a web, and the enemies were only going to keep coming, and if their size was similar to the Ariados that was going to be a problem for them. Tossing a pokeball into the air he released his Charizard, and touched the keystone embedded into his gauntlet. If he was going to hold them back so they could get the samples they needed there was no need to be stingy with his firepower.

"Ogun, burn it all away!" He gave the command even as his Charizard was enveloped in a multicolored glow, and mega evolved into it's strongest form. Blue flames erupted from it's mouth, and the tip of it's tail as it unleashed a powerful Flamethrower in order to combat a horde of Beedrill that had just shown up. They were definitely fighting at a disadvantage at the moment, but with the added back up for Makoto Kurumi Amor was confident they could hold out until they got what they needed. Since he was trusting them with his back, it was only natural that he had theirs.

Draco's fists stayed ignited with powerful Fire Punch's as he crashed into the large Ariados taking it head on, and nimbly avoiding the attacks that were sent against him. Amor did realize that creating all this noise was only going to draw more enemies to their locations, and in turn the fight was only going to get tougher.

"We need to get those samples quickly, once we do that, I can get us out of here." He stated to the other two while they were holding them all off for the moment, it wouldn't last that way for long. Speed was the priority here, now that they had been to this place once, they could properly plan for the next expedition here.

Makoto Kurumi Alba Evovae

Skipping Alba as it has been two weeks.

For as much as an oddball as Obake could be, it was clear to see that it was putting good work into fighting off the bug-types, the false Dragonite's fists blazing with Fire Punches as it echoed Draco's own strikes.

With the Aurora Veil having been set up, Tsukiko would even join in the fray - a Springtide Storm kicking up amongst the bug-types so as to gather them together, for Ogun's Flamethrower.

Makoto, all the whilst, was working quick alongside Tsume to help Alba with samples. Soil was collected into vials, pieces of bamboo carefully broken away by one's claws, tweezers pulling away bits of web. And once they got what they could...

... Tsukiko would be recalled for Ryuu - the Kingdra letting loose a Smokescreen upon the bug-types, to disorient them!

"This way!" Makoto called upon recalling Ryuu as well - Tsume scooping them up in his arms, so that he could leap up the steep side of the pit, heading back into the woods.

And Obake - with Alba's permission - would swoop down to scoop up the researcher, wings beating hard to follow after its trainer.

Makoto and Tsume - leading the way - would take on a seemingly winding path, looping between the trees and undergrowth. The choices they were making in directing the Zoroark would seem random at first glance - but the truth was, they were using the group's smaller size compared to their insectoid pursuers to their advantage. They were weaving between the more closely-packed patches of bamboo and trees, in hopes of losing the giant bug-types who couldn't squeeze between quite as easily.

Only time would tell how well this plan would work, however.

"Perhaps next time." Seraphim stated curtly as they wove through the tangled path that Makoto Kurumi wove for them. It was going about as well as he expected, though it still wasn't as bad as their first foray into the Mechanical Kingdom, and so when they were a mostly safe distance away, Draco, and Ogun landed next to him, Belus was standing in the center of the group, and Amor reached out to grab his Gallade.

"Grab on quickly!" He ordered the others, they needed to leave quickly before the rest of the creatures caught up to them, and so both he, and his dragons clasped on to one of the Gallades arms. When Makoto Kurumi, and their pokemon grabbed on to Belus, along with Alba Evovae then they would all be teleported out of the dimension, and be back to somewhere far more safe than this.

Makoto could easily concur with Seraphim's 'next time' - as it was now, they weren't sure if the swarm that they had fought was even the last of the bugs that they had attracted the attentions of in the crater. After all, with the noise and fuss they were making before, it was totally possible that other insectoid pokemon would have noticed the fighting and decide to come investigate.

"When we're not being chased by an entire swarm, perhaps..." They murmured in agreement. Even if they had their own curiosities about the fauna here, it'd be far easier to subdue a lone and unalerted bug pokemon than it would an aggressive and agitated swarm.

But once the group could no longer hear their pursuers, they would come to a stop - and Seraphim brough out his Gallade. At his direction, Makoto would return their pokemon so that they could grab onto the psychic-type, as ready as ever to be teleported out of danger.
