As he recuperates, an anonymous gift finds its way to his residence. There is no note, no explanation for the Pokeball included within, but there is the unshakable sense that this is an apology. GIVEN UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Despite the mystery that shrouded the gift, and Gideon's initial skepticism, he kept the KUBFU for himself. It was a rare Pokémon, after all, and perhaps something that could be studied in the future. A test subject, nothing more.[break][break]

At least, at first. But the little bear was a comfort the injured professor didn't know he needed. It stayed by his side through the nightmares and the physical therapy. Was a welcome comedic relief when his drinking led him to darker mental spaces. [break][break]

Whoever had sent him must have truly cared for GIDEON GRAVES.
