RKS TAKES THEM DEEP INTO A JOHTO CAVERN: the Ruins of Alph is a place Selena has only seen when she was about five, but she knows this place looks like nothing she has ever experienced before.

The Ruins of Alph she remembers is a place frequented by tourists, of archeologists and related professionals, but now there is an eerie flavor to it. The vacuum is filled with strange, grating noises of distorted cries and melodies transmitted from their devices. This scene looks straight from a horror film, and in a classic fashion of the macabre, there is this sensation that is drawing them deep into the darkness, if only to satisfy their curiosity.

And with dorian westcliff being around her, there is no telling what he wants to do in this scenario.

"You could die from a simulation, right?" She confirms the instructions she has read to her superior. "I think we're supposed to head back."

The Ruins of Alph. It brought back bitter memories of Rocket's failed move on the Johto Region. Of one of their ill-fated battles, where they had been batted back successfully by League forces.

But they'd pay the League back for that loss, in due time. Once they had Arceus, they'd have this world. And then, they'd take the multiverse by storm.

Something strange compelled them to step into the darkness. Dorian, however, knew better than to follow the call.

"If we die, we just get ejected. But I still don't trust whatever's trying to draw us in.", he'd tell Selena, as he followed her away from the call.

Everyone falls through and lands in a decrepit underground hall. The walls feature engravings of what appear to be Unown. One wall spells out a message through the Symbol Pokemon's depicted bodies: the more there is, the less you see.[break][break]

HER FIRST STEPS BACK ARE BRISK WALK; followed by hasty paces and then eventually running, chasing after what is left of the ground that is slowly being consumed by the all surrounding darkness.

And then there is no floor left.

"Still think this is a good idea?" While this is better than by being consumed by the darkness, the fall is still a bad experience despite being a simulation. She still remembers how Rocket is able to make a simulation so lifelike similar to the one used in the Trinity Trials of S.P.E.C.T.R.A.

Her eyes trail instead on what is visible in the faint light, her vision trying to check signs of an exit from the ruins. Instead, she finds a riddle.

"Darkness?" Her voice carries beatifully in the barren hall, all for dorian westcliff to hear. "That's it, non?"

No matter how fast the duo runs, they can't outrun the ground crumbling from underneath their feet. All Dorian can do is his best to land without hurting himself. Even if he tells himself this is just a simulation, instinct still kicks in. And despite everything, the fall still hurts like hell.

"Good idea or not, we do what we have to. For the cause!", Dorian told the woman.

"Darkness, yes.", the Mad Dog lingered, before getting to his feet, and leaving with Selena.

THE END OF THE HALL EVENTUALLY LEADS THEM INTO A CLEARING, a spectacular sight with a white, sacred-looking tree as its pièce de résistance. This gives Selena a similar feeling to what she remembers the night when the Tree of Life sprung at the soil of Littleroot Town. This is also the feeling every time she visits Sootopolis City.

There is a compelling feeling that beckons her to water it. The Kalosian gives her partner a glance, checking in if he is feeling the same feeling as hers.

But when she is ready to water down the sacred figure, her boss is ready to destroy every last bit of it, leaving her no other choice.

The next scene they'd transition into was around a Tree of Life. Though he wasn't present for the incident in Littleroot, a victory that they had to thank a partially unwitting Selena for, he knew of the Tree of Life in Sootopolis. A trophy of their glorious conquest of the city, alongside the capture of Melody Miro and Balder Schwartz at the time.

Dorian wastes no time in bring out his faithful Magmortar and Houndoom. "We're burning it.", Dorian tells Selena, a wicked grin on his face. The two Pokemon immediately begin to hose the tree down with Flamethrower.

Some might call the war they were caught up in terrifying. Dorian would call it enthralling. The Mad Dog felt at home in the chaos of ancient war, men and Pokemon clashing with killing intent.

Dorian sent out the rest of his Pokemon to fight. Human or Pokemon, his team of Fire-types showed no mercy in cutting down those before them, regardless of their faction. Men were reduced to burnt husks. If their Pokemon weren't roasted, then they were either crushed with brutal blows, or ripped apart with claws and fangs.

As for the men unfortunate enough to come for Dorian, the man would use his pipe to fight them off with disturbing effect. Parrying their attacks, bludgeoning some to death, snapping the necks of others.

"Aren't you glad we decided to burn down that tree? This is amazing!", Dorian cackled to Selena, the only one spared from his bloodthirsty frenzy.

MEMORIES FROM SELENA'S PICTURE BOOKS AND HISTORY BOOKS are suddenly becoming alive: the images of the great war of her region is materializing right before her eyes. While dorian westcliff is relishing at the sight, savoring the bloodbath that is to come, Selena did not expect this to be the outcome of a reckless action they did.

It seems dorian westcliff is expecting this, regardless if it is intentional or not.

"For the record, I'm not. But let's try not to die now, oui?"

Without a choice, she summons her IRON VALIANT and FLUTTER MANE at her defense. While dorian westcliff is proactive in participating in the war of whichever faction he is killing for (which Selena guesses probably both), the lady is parrying the attacks targeting her to the other side of the battlefield.

SELENA CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER HOW THEY SURVIVED THE WAR. So many questions are racing inside her head as she wakes up inside a space ship looking at the earth from a hundred miles away: did they win? Did they defeat the enemy lines? Did dorian westcliff kill a lot from both sides?

When she looks around the deck, she can see her partner sitting as well. It is only then that she notices the sea of sticky notes surrounding the station, most of which are scribbles and sketches where one mentions the 'ascended hall of origin'. She does not know what it means.

"Do you know what that is?" Before she can even point out the note, a loud bang resonates within the ship on the right side of it. It appears to be a hand-like creature in the shape and pattern of Arceus itself.

Could this be...?

Another loud bang and the hand destroys the part of the ship where dorian westcliff is staying, trying to get a grip of the man.
