it was creepy, it held bad memories for her from the recent fighting against rocket. They had managed to push them back but they failed to protect the object that was here...however that core, the eerie purple light coming from it was very disgusting and sent shivers down her spine for some odd reason as she covered the ring she had on her hand, it felt a little hot. [break][break]

"Before we go forward we're gonna need to take some of that energy that's stopping us from going forward. I can use my sygnasuit to help resist some of the effects. Do you want me to take the brunt or do you have a sygnasuit as well?" she asks, however...as his superior she felt it was her duty to take the brunt of it. [break][break]

"You're not the only one," Josh quipped back, holding the reins of his Manectric. His yellow and blue SYGNA SUIT, crafted in the likeness of the electric wolf, let him go fast. Really fast. The speed the duo could reach was almost, if not on par, with the Johto Beast that the Gym Leader idolized. If he couldn't befriend and ride Raikou, he could at least be on a Pokémon that was just as fast. "And I don't want to come here again. But I have to, at illeana reyes 's behest. She wants me to study Ultra Sea, along with the rest of the rifts. It's almost like these suits are built for it."

As Josh saw Melody head toward the energy core, presumably to shield him from the fiercest blows by using her Sygna Suit, the Gym Leader's hero complex too over. "No, let me help you!" he pleaded, squeezing his mount's sides. Try as they might, though, they simply could not push against the core's oppressive energy waves like Melody could through her suit's own power. The Sygna bond with her Pokémon was far stronger than Josh's, demonstrated by the waves pushing Saber back the faster he tried to gallop into them. "QUICK ATTACK, Saber!" Even the speed burst afforded by his Gym's signature move wasn't enough; the Ultra Realm's winds blew harder the faster he went, continuing to push him behind the member of Hoenn's Elite Four.

Josh's assistance with his own suit makes the endeavor easier despite him going against Melody's wishes. [break][break]

Not like she was going to complain about it, less work for herself. "Dancer!" she orders as suddenly a gardevoir teleports besides her and she looks over to josh "You attack I'll support you!" she says allowing him to be the lead dancer, if he was going to grow he had to get first hand experience. [break][break]

"Primarina, we're doing a wish! Gardevoir you heal manectric!" she orders as the sygnasuit begins to glow and melody activates her trainer move and creates an electric area to further enhance josh's electric attacks while her gardevoir assist with the damage they took from the onslaught together. [break][break]

Heal and defend against the pokemon.

"Got it!" Josh replied, giving Melody a thumbs-up, the two slowing their mining efforts to keep the encroaching Ultra Beasts away. The ELECTRIC ZONE created by Melody's suit created a gap in the wind, letting the Gym Leader attack their poison-type foes full force. Though Josh's suit prevented the yellow duo from going hypersonic, Saber's amplified DISCHARGE left the attacking Naganadel and Nihilego wrack with paralysis. It was only the Gym Leader's suit that shielded him from his mount's electric fury.

None of them backed down; for each one that that could not move a muscle, another advanced. One of the Nihilego floated above Josh, pulling him out of the saddle and leaving him completely defenseless. Though a second DISCHARGE took down the Ultra Beast, the damage had already been done; the Gym Leader looked delirious, pointing toward Melody's Gardevoir as though he was ordering Saber to attack them.

Had the neurotoxin prevented Josh from being able to distinguish friend from foe?

Melody full expected another strange pokemon to appear, but instead that didn't happen. [break][break]

This time, it was a salamance and a togekiss. They were normal for the most part until Melody's pokemon come to defend her and suddenly she sees it. They weren't wild, they were owned. [break][break]

The frame of a small girl walks forward, her face expressing joy and happiness as a carbon copy clone of Eris Halla appears. Melody instantly believes it might be a memory from Josh Devlin's run in with her but she is quickly proven to be wrong as both of her pokemon rush towards Melody and her primarina it's clear that she was not interested in josh but Melody. [break][break]

Primarina fires back with a springtide storm to push back the salamance but the togekiss easily glides past it and slams into Primarina. Dance the gardevoir quickly leaps into action, using a mystical fire to slam the togekiss onto the floor. Melody panics "Eris stop! Please!" she says as she felt as helpless as she felt back then as the young girl's veins started to slowly turn black. [break][break]

It was clear to her, this was her own memories.[break][break]

The child's appearance was a bane for them both, but not in the way Josh expected. Provided Melody had overcome her horrific memory in time, she would be able to see a crystallized form of King Zing, the massive Beedrill that belonged to the Gym Leader but was in the League's confiscatory. The giant insect had been taken from him nearly six months ago for the horrific crimes Josh used King Zing to commit against the very person that appeared to be attacking Melody. This made the Gym Leader all the more confused, likewise reducing him to a panicked state. "I don't know who to believe!" he wailed, devolving into incoherence as he witnessed the facsimile of Eris attacking the standing Elite Four member.

King Zing wasn't done with Josh, though. with incredible agility and timing, on top of taking full advantage of the cooldown in the Manectric's DISCHARGE, the giant Beedrill looked like he was going to swoop in for a sting. Instead, he pulled Josh out of the saddle. With his mighty buzzing wings, the vicious insect suplexed the Master of Faster to the ground, stunning him. Not skipping a beat, the frame of the Beedrill plunged its three stings into Josh, the deadly rear barb into his torso and the others near his shoulders. All he could do was scream, gnashing his teeth in pain as the venom burned his insides. Was this what he had put Eris through?

No one, not even the higher-ups in Rocket, deserved to go through such horrific pain. The Gym Leader's body convulsed violently as more of the burning venom ravaged his body.

Still, through these translucent barriers, you catch a glimpse of a nearby planet. One that looks suspiciously like the one you all live in—except that a large portion of it seems covered in land.[break][break]

You must escape with your gathered material. Your ally or allies may be incapacitated by the paranoia settling in their psyches, or perhaps, the eldritch mutations beginning to metamorphose their body or bodies.[break][break]

Depending on how much your characters have mined, you may need to lessen your extracted load to ensure successful escape from this wretched place. After all, the horrors that reside here may make chase.

She says as Melody starts to load up the max load but notices that Josh was being attacked by the beedrill. She had to get them all out of here or else, the poison seemed to be taking it's effects as Melody had to resolve this issue first. "Cobalion!" she calls out as suddenly a blur of blue rushes past them all and the memory of beedril suddenly vanishes [break][break]

Cobalion arrives in the knick of time and even slashes at the fake Eris as the illusion screams out in pain. Melody focuses on josh, trying to lift him up and struggling to do so. Cobalion lifts the pair up and starts to run off as melody focuses on carrying the full load.
