Another assignment for the depths of the monster to gather resourecs... Yuina had to imagine that with as frequently as these assignments were being given that these resources they were gathering were really very important, so she couldn't argue with that? This whole fight against this Rocket organization to make sure they could study these materials first to protect the region... It was pretty serious business, and at least she knew that she was in good company for it. Josh was her partner this time around, and in and of itself that did make her feel a bit better about being in the guts of a giant interdimensional monster, Josh was already someone she was familiar with and had spent some time around, it was nice to be in familiar company, even if the circumstances weren't really awesome...[break][break]
"Nyla and I can work on the toxins, if you're good to start working on some of the crystals," Yuina offered as they entered the noxious cavern, with Nyla's new found evolution her posion capabilities were tenfold and should make traversing the cavern a little easier.

Josh was impressed with Yuina's resolve and... pure grit. The horrors of Ultra Sea were unsettling, even threatening, to him even though he was wearing his cyan and yellow Sygna Suit with many features of the very Manectric he was riding on. Next to him was Aleph, the Type: Null he had shed blood, sweat, and tears to synthesize. He was also the most uncooperative Pokémon Josh had raised. Though he had been warned in the Type: Full manual about the species' disposition toward fighting Ultra Beasts, he did not realize just how strong it was until the chimeric Normal-type nearly ripped his arm from his body with a CRUSH CLAW the moment Aleph saw the saddle Josh meant to strap to him.

While Aleph had powers nearly on par with a legendary Pokémon, he also had the temperament of one, requiring the two to spend lots of time together before he would truly become a member of Josh's team. "My Pokémon aren't exactly great at it, but I'll try," he answered Yuina, releasing his four Pyroar to get to work while Saber and Aleph kept their eyes out for any Ultra Beasts. "You sure you don't want me to use my Sygna Suit to try to deflect the radiation away?"

To say that things would ever be easy or simple in the monstrous caverns would be a vast and grossly misrepresented understatement of what it took to gather the materials here, and even though Yuina was confident in Nyla with the Pokemon's new power, that still didn't mean that she was entirely confident in herself... The things that were down here, the things that she saw... The things that she heard, were unsettling, and the toxins were to thank for that... Nyla was leading the way, and Josh was going to start working on mining out the crystals, and while Yuina was starting to tremble a little, preemptively afraid of that dark, sinister thing that this place brought out in the back of her consciousness, Josh made an offer to help while he and his Pokemon worked on the crystals.[break]

"Will do! Just want to try to keep you safe," Josh assured his acquaintance rapidly turning friend, though it may have been too late. "Just make sure that when we get back to Hoenn, you get checked for radiation sickness. Even with a Sygna Suit, it gets overwhelming after a while." His four Pyroar were only able to keep up with Nyla in the mining work due to their numbers. This wasn't Josh's first rodeo in the Ultra Sea; he knew the kinds of threats mining activity would attract. It was the perfect opportunity to work on the long process of opening up the door to Aleph's heart.

The horde of Naganadel and Nihilego were rapidly approaching, Aleph quick to jump into the fray. Beams of TRI-ATTACK shot from his helmet spikes to repel the venomous dragons, and ramming IRON HEAD attacks repelled the Rock-type Ultra Beasts. Though it had by now become monotonous for Josh, this operation was more about his Type: Null than it was him. Of course, gathering materials was his number one priority while he could. The Eternatus core was coming, and the two would have a big decision to make. "I'm gonna start loading their saddlebags," Josh offered, sliding off his Manectric's back and helping load the four Pyroar with the trainers' haul.

Josh's kindness was insurmountable, she knew that being down in the depths was dangerous for anyone given any amount of time, but just to know that there was just a little bit of extra help, it could make all the difference. Josh was right though, she'd done a handful of these missions already, she really did need to make sure she was keeping up with her health...[break][break]
"You're right, that's a good idea... Hopefully there's nothing too serious," she lamented... Nyla was keeping an eye on things as the toxins continued to fill the surrounding area, and Josh's Pokemon did a great job at getting the opposing monsters that were coming into the cavern, but they weren't out of the woods yet... a terrible shadow came up from the ground, and a sinister, stifling glare shifted around the area before a monster emerged. It looked almost torn in half, one half gengar and one half Clefable, like the Gengar had gone into the Clefable's shadow but never left and fused with half of the fairy type's body... It was truly disturbing, wondering what happened that the two Pokemon became trapped together in such an awful way, and Yuina gasped as she backed away from it, the monster snickered...[break]
Nyla hissed as the Sneasler rushed forward, her claws coated in a glowing, bubbling purple energy, and she struck with a flurry of Poison Jabs to fend off the offending monster, no telling how potent its supernatural powers were.

The horror before the two made even Josh jump, the fairy-and-ghost Pokémon sticking its tongue out at them. The ethereal wings the creature possessed looked nothing short of terrifying. The foe dashed toward Yuina, who seemed to be doing much of the mining work while the Gym Leader continued to load his partner's saddlebags with the Dynite Ore the League was looking for. His experiences in the Galar memory made him wary of what the League would use that power for. If they didn't use it, Team Rocket would. Ultimately, as Mauville's Leader, the League's word was law, as was evidence by Aleph existing at all.

The Type: Null, agitated that no more Ultra Beasts were coming out of the woodwork, defied Josh's command to use Aerial Ace; instead, the normal-type's CRUSH CLAW went right through the ghost-type. Floating toward Yuina quickly, the amalgamation opened its eyes wide, attempting to put both the invading trainers to sleep with HYPNOSIS.

You must escape with your gathered material. Your ally or allies may be incapacitated by the paranoia settling in their psyches, or perhaps, the eldritch mutations beginning to metamorphose their body or bodies.[break][break]

Depending on how much your characters have mined, you may need to lessen your extracted load to ensure successful escape from this wretched place. After all, the horrors that reside here may make chase.

The creature was relentless, even as Nyla slashed at it with poison claws and Josh's strange Pokemon rushed it with an intense ferocity, the shadowy monster had no intention of leaving the cavern, bent on their destruction. There was no telling how powerful something like a monster of two Pokemon fused together was, and Yuina certainly didn't want to know what in this awful environment even made something so terrible possible, but it was a very real threat all the same. The creature rushed towards Yuina, its gaze paralyzing, and she stumbled trying to hold herself together, its power was all consuming.[break]
"No, don't, we have to get out," Yuina shook her head, she could feel the pressure in her head, it was so heavy... Nyla hissed with bared fangs, slashing again at the monster as she caught Yuina's stumbling figure, her consciousness waning. The Sneasler hissed again, bidding the other Pokemon to take their leave, it was time to go they had to protect their trainers and make sure they could all get out!
