It was another battle by Dewford, Kouji couldn’t really believe it but here he stood, the last one felt like a lifetime ago, just over twenty years in fact. But he had no choice this time around, he looked over his shoulder and downwards at the island as he sat on the back of his Roaring Moon, the pokemon seemed comfortable enough.

”Keep an Eye out, we can’t go losing everything here, whoever tries to arrive by sky will end up sinking into the sea.” His dragon roared in reply, signifying the two of them were there. Kouji knew full well what this meant, some resource was here over his paygrade.

She had arrived early. Dug trenches as well as one might on a loose sandy beach. Luckily with the help of a Pallosand it had been easy enough. And the location had proved helpful for a moment.

But it’s safety had been compromised and so here she was.

She decided to move on, moving through the beach in search of safer pastures to set up a shop for the time being.

From high on, Kouji just about managed to notice the trenches that were being dug; sadly he wasn’t studied in History, so he could tell the significance of it from that, but he had grown fond of them in his time in Galar.

In reality, there was no other option but to swoop down, his Roaring Moon made a rumbling sound as he touched down on the Earth, Kouji on his back still.

”I don’t recommend that, you don’t look like the kind with Rocket, how about turning around? I don’t wanna hurt you if I don’t have to.” His voice sounded even, calm, and neutral.

The rumbling sound alerted her to the presence of the newly arrived beast.

For a brief moment she hoped that it might be someone friendly, someone that would offer help. But the words that soon came did not offer her such kindness.

She released a mild sigh as she turned to face the stranger. It might've been easier to give in, to submit and just run away. But she was done running. “I could say the same to you.”

Pallosand´s sandy body began to reform by her side, and with it traces of faint purple energy ready to fire off in a SHADOW BALL at a moment's notice.

Kouji sighed, it wasn’t really going to be that easy, but then again it never was that simple to begin with. The shadowball would strike, that much Kouji was almost certain of. He understood just by looking, but at the same time.

”We’ll break through, use Crunch.” The shadow ball struck the face of the Roaring Moon, an explosion with substantial force that knocked Kouji off the back of his dragon, and towards the ground instead. He braced, and rolled; but he felt the shock regardless, it was sand afterall.

But for the Roaring Moon, its mouth glowed with draconic energies as the smoke passed, as if ready to chomp down on the Pallosand, and keep him locked down. Jaw Lock, one of its favorite moves.

As for Kouji?

”Tch, asshole, coulda checked if I was okay.” But the dragon was having none of it.

The SHADOW BALL flew and it seemed their opponent made no attempt at dodging it, choosing instead to power through it.

Johanna had to give props where it was due, unfortunately she could not voice it as she jumped into cover.

Palossand was not quite as lucky. As it tried to move the sand out of the way some of it was captured in the powerful jaws of its opponent, locked away from rejoining the main body. It hurt, even for the ghost. But the pain was quickly pushed away in favor of a counter attack.

With a faint earthy hue Palosand called out to the beach summoning with its EARTH POWER as much of it as it could, aiming to incapacitate if not crush the opponent a prison of sand.

The spout of sand tried to capture his Roaring Moon, holding him down as Roaring Moon gripped onto Palossand. It was a cyclical viciousness, but the dragon didn’t want to let up either, the dark energies coalesced as he tried to move, a series of fast wing-flaps that turned into fast rotation.

Acrobatics, but with its jaws still locked around some sand, it was a matter where the two would be stuck with one another. But that didn’t matter, Kouji spurred his pokemon on.

”Go down.”

In the middle of the dance, he crashed into the sand; spinning like a drill to get at the Palossand. He looked at the pokemon battle, it was something that wouldn’t end comfortably, he took his pokeball out.

”You’re done, come back.” He said as Roaring Moon let go, and was pulled back into the pokeball.

”You’re up, Shiftry.”

Both Pokemon fought valiantly. With wing beats, jaw locks, and diving drill-work the Roaring Moon put up quite the struggle. But for all of its efforts it seemed Palossand emerged the victor.

A sigh of relief escaped the Palossand as the Roaring Moon was retrieved by its trainer. Only for a Shiftry to take its place.

Palossand knew it could not afford the time to pause right now. An unfavorable typing was not enough for a tactical retreat. The sand started moving once more. Another EARTH POWER would aim to consume the Shiftry.

Meanwhile from the cover Johanna had secured, she would engage the communication device in her ear and relaying through the network a hushed. “Confirmed member of Team Rocket at my location.”

Kouji looked at the Shiftry who stood there now, his roaring moon could rest up.

He lost sight of her, but at the same time; he could only leave it up to Shiftry; the pokemon was struck by the earth power as he set off a ball light up into the air, setting off a sunny day, the fan-like leaves on his arm began to absorb the light, glowing brighter and brighter for a moment.

As for Kouji, he began to focus on the surroundings, the last location he had seen her? He moved just as quickly, trusting Shiftry to watch his back as he jumped up, Shiftry’s fan was his base before the pokemon threw him up, to avoid the sand.

And barely managed to land properly onto the sand, rolling across the ground.

”Hey, hey, gonna snitch on me this early? I ain’t even get your name.”
