Jayden's grip on that frail wrist tightens. Something grinds inside yet Chu-e does not flinch.[break][break]

"I did- do- care for you." Pushed out, rough, aggressive, defensive. But Chu-e back down, puts away the proverbial fangs. Softens his voice in his own, half version of affection and pity. Watches Jayden with an unshielded sadness in blue eyes. "But look what it did to you."[break][break]

There is a pop followed by a loud click.[break][break]

Chu-e's wrist limps in Jayden's grip. He only flinches lightly, eye twitching as he shifts a bit in his seat. As if a dislocation was akin to a small pinch at worst.[break][break]

Doesn't say anything else, only waits for Jayden to realize what he's done.

[break][break] Jayden winces, expression contorted into a grimace of pain, as if fighting the will of his Ruinous patron hurts him even more than the blessing does. The curse.
