not in a bad way- hopefully- but in a way that meant a lot of traveling. a small shop in slateport, near the park, had advertised a holiday sale for pokemon-friendly milk and cookies, and aster would be damned if he wasn't going to at least try one. or let azalea try one.

that seemed more likely, considering how demanding the little purrloin could get.

he had planned to cut across slateport park, because it was easier and there was a crowd of people he'd rather avoid hurrying about. the park itself, however, had turned out to be busy as well, with a few people trying their hand at skating on the frozen-over lake.

aster had tried to avoid the best he could- at least until they had to awkwardly sidestep onto the edge of the lake to avoid a charging child that had come running out of nowhere, with a dog-shaped pokemon behind them. he glances back, trying to figure out what pokemon exactly it had been-

until his foot slides awkwardly from beneath him. he doesn't even stand a chance, and the only thing that crosses his mind is a flurry of fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck as he falls, unceremoniously, on his ass.

A bake sale of milk and cookies was happening at the Slateport Park and since her Mimikyu wanted some, she tells Alastor that they would get some later. The royal Galarian ambassador’s faithful Mismagius points at a frozen lake with all of the other pepple skating around and children were chasing each other on ice skates that they could pose a small hazard to get bumped into if the woman wasn’t careful. Adjusting her purple scarf with her gloved hands, Elise bundles herself in her coat while trying to step around the frozen lake.[break][break]

Only to find that there was some other guy who had fallen on his butt after being tripped over by a charging dog-like Pokemon. He fell right in front of everyone in the park.[break][break]

Coming over to where he had tripped by the little edge of the frozen lake, the dark magenta haired princess comes to ask him gently. “Are you alright? That did look like a bad fall.” Her two ghost Pokemon accompany her side in looking over the form of the purple-haired man and how everyone else at the park were staring at him like he did something embarrassing.

it's almost as bad as the shame that follows as soon as aster realizes everyone is staring at him. or almost everyone- there's a few people who have either decided to spare his feelings or that they don't care, and he's pretty sure he would die for them if they asked him to.

someone comes over, and he knows they mean well, reasonably, from their question. it's just shame that warms aster's face at what she says, and he pushes himself onto his feet like nothing had ever happened- and back to the safety of non-slick ground, which was the most important thing.

"i'm fine. it was worse than it looked." which still didn't do much in terms of him wanting to crawl into the ground, but it would be enough. "i was actually looking for a shop advertising a sale, if you know it? i don't remember the name, but it's for cookies, and from what i know it should be around here?"

is it a desperate attempt to try to get away from the topic of his fall? oh, absolutely, but he also does need to know where the shop is for sure if he ever comes back (unlikely, with the way he still feels like he could die).

he just hopes the magenta-haired woman understands. or at least grants him a little grace.
