It had been said that a legendary beast befell the lands here, bringing an endless chill to the once prosperous leaves and keeping innocent pokemon in ice that could never melt. Retained in the shards, Desiree wondered if it wished to covet what it cherished forever or wished to bring heartbreak to those that encountered it that day- but she was ultimately missing context to those moments in history, as some things were too soul-crushing to read into. The winds churned through the snowy skies as she rode upon the back of the Cetitan, trembling as she looked for the bright flashes of color from things like snowberries.[break][break]

But her expectations were quite low in a place so significant yet so bleak. She hated being out in the snow despite how beautiful it was at its core; all those snowboarding trips to Snowbelle in her youth caused her to detest the icy chill, and just like then, she was quite unprepared when it came to warm clothing. Online shopping helped her up her winter wardrobe, but she was much more fond of wearing clothes that were open, flowy, and stylish. Yet here she was, bundled up to the point where not a soul could recognize her celebrity presence. If only she had milk and cookies, as she looked like a pink and green santa claus with all those blankets.[break][break]

Trotting through the snow slowly, the terra whale pushed mist along with each step it took.

"Stillness, Glacier, ♡" she called out to the Cetitan she rode upon, pulling up her scarf and warm mittens, "go get the blue sprout over there, Starburst." Holding her pink stellar pokemon out and pushing it to float in the southeast direction, upon the dead treeline it would pluck a single blue berry. Though it would not be able to produce a fruitful harvest, Desiree wanted to know just what kind of flora had been able to sprout in these exquisitely chilly parts of the tropical region.[break][break]

Bringing it back to her and placing it within her palms, its type was difficult to make out due to the sheer amount of ice retaining its outer shell; it was hard as a rock, seemingly able to never melt or crunch. Perhaps it met the same fate as those rumored pokemon did when a legendary beast descended upon these parts, but she simply threw it into the snow below her feet and continued on her trek. What a dud.[break][break]

An Orthworm slithered through the snow and found the frozen berry, releasing one of its appendages to carry it off into the unknown. She hoped he would make a cute little necklace with it, as it was her first time seeing that peculiar-looking metallic worm.

As the pinkette continued upon the back of the icy land-whale, there seemed to be an anxious undertone resting within the dead trees and the snow that kissed their dilapidated branches. It was an ominous feeling, really; she wished not to let it tamper with her foraging session, but it was just there, existing freely while concealed by fragments.[break][break]

"A noise for meaning," she whispered downward into the Cetitan's ear, that which picked up the echoing trills of the landscape as well. ".. it's likely just the creatures nestled in the trees, my love. Carry on, we're safe here." Of course, she wished to convince herself that was true; there was never a moment where the soul could truly be safe in these lands, those moments were taken from all years before she was born. Safety was an aspect Glacier had been well adapted to, on the other hand, as it had existed for decades before Desiree was even a concept yet to be introduced.[break][break]

Dancing through the icy thicket, a lone Cryogonal appeared, releasing its spectral cries of all the same likeness as the ones they heard before. Yet, as it continued on its venture and off into the unforeseeable distance, the stir did not die down. She took out an electronic device to see if there was anything spoken of with a simple search, but unfortunately, there was nothing.[break][break]

How unfortunate.

A flock of wild Cetitan trudged through the thicket of snowy discordance; it was a heartbreaking noise, their cries of anguish and wishes to flee. Though Desiree could not recognize what the wild snow creatures wanted to accomplish with their hefty trudging other than that it may have been urgent, Glacier, her familiar creature passed down from generation to generation of the Titania bloodline, could.[break][break]

As a collective, they sensed unimaginable things- an unimaginable energy they did not wish to bear witness to. Stirring, cries existed that echoed through the open icy colossus.. and to be here as things were heating up was quite stressful.[break][break]

"We need to go, Glacier..," she whispered softly to below her, creeping past the large saddle into the tera whale's ear, ".. to the right instead of the left."[break][break]

To the left, the horde of wild creatures barreled off into the unknown. Yet, unbeknownst to the idol, there was trudging coming toward them at a quick speed- and once it struck with a hit of the head, it nearly caused her to be bucked off of her moving seat. Holding on with all her might, she tried her hardest to look over the side of its strewn fragmentals. What she thought would have been a looming threat was instead a younger counterpart to the beast she, amongst her feminine ancestors, had taken to the back of.[break][break]

It had mistaken the family heirloom of a pokemon to be its mother.. but the mother was long gone.[break][break]

There was not a thought in her mind that led her to throw the pokeball- simply instinct. Perhaps it was the longing for her family in the times she had strayed, wanting to be taken by another when the bridge of connections had been tattered. Or perhaps it was just too stinkin' cute.
