Suddenly, a sirens ring behind you. For whatever reason, the law is after you. And they are after you on Genesect. They fire TECHNO BLASTS toward you as you jet past cars and augmented passersby.[break][break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie took a deep breath to steel herself before entering the scenario. While many other Rockets had gained an impressive amount of knowledge and strange treasures from the RKS system, she still hadn't explored it much at all. Add that to her passing acquaintance with admin jayden cross—whom she still found quite enigmatic, despite his highly relatable love of knives, swords, and hand-to-hand combat—and she had to admit she was a little nervous.

When she saw the futuristic, neon-lit setting of this scenario, though, Aurelie found herself relaxing. The dark night sky, the towering skyscrapers flashing with colorful billboards, even the feel of the Cyclizar's bars and seat—she'd only seen it once, but it still felt comfortingly familiar. Even the blare of the sirens coming after them...

Aurelie gulped and gripped the handlebars tightly, tearing her gaze away from the Genesect that the police were riding and turning toward the admin beside her, on his own Cyclizar.

"I have no idea what happens if we get caught, but I'd rather not find out! Let's try to lose them," she called out above the rush of the wind and the whir of tires across the road.

This time, they'd been dropped right into the middle of the city, rather than the freeway entrance that she remembered from last time. Urging her Cyclizar on, Aurelie leaned forward and pointed ahead of them at a dark, shadowy passageway between two skyscrapers.

"Those alleys up there are probably our best bet to lose the Genesect! I don't think they can fit in a space that small! What do you think?" she asked, taking her eye off the road to risk a glance sideways at Jayden.

It would be the first time since his change that he would meet Aurelie Lefevre.

[break][break] Excursions into the RKS system were not uncommon, especially considering both of their roles in the organization. The fact that it had not overlapped previously was mere coincidence.

[break][break] He stays quiet, hands gripped around the handles of his Cyclizar, as the sable sky lays stretched above them, twinkling like diamonds in the night. The sounds of siren's roar behind them as they are given chase but unlike Aurelie Lefevre, the admin shows no signs of concern or anxiety.

[break][break] "The alleyways then," he agrees with a subtle nod of his head, twisting his handlebars to propel the Cyclizar forward. He zooms into to the distance, squeezing into the tight space with ease.

But the city suddenly descends into darkness. A blackout. Screams can be heard as flashes of prismatic light detonate several blocks south of you. Perhaps, this is your chance to flee.[break][break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]When she and Jayden ended up cornered at the end of a blind alley leading only to a blank wall, Aurelie couldn't help turning and leveling a glare at their pursuers, filled with all the hauteur of a very annoyed blacksmith wishing she had a sword in her hands right about now.

"Who's asking?" the redhead demanded, raising her chin. "Why have you been chasing us? What did we do to get in so much trouble that you had to shoot at us so much?"

It wasn't the wittiest banter or the best display of self-control, she knew. Aurelie had no doubt that the admin beside her—who she only just now noticed looked different than she remembered, though at the moment she couldn't quite put her finger on why—wouldn't be impressed. At the same time, she hoped any answers they got might shed some light on where, what, and when they were right now.

Of course, all such hopes were dashed when the city suddenly went black. Aurelie's heart thudded at the frightening sound of explosions and screams. Never having been to Lesser Megalopolis, she didn't recognize the prismatic flashes she glimpsed. A few safety lights flickered on along nearby buildings, and she did notice their pursuers were also looking toward the lights and screams—and not at them.

Aurelie looked cautiously at Jayden and talked quickly in a soft whisper. "I feel like the smart move is to run and hide while they're distracted. But...we can also get the jump on them right now, while they're distracted. And maybe drag some answers out of them."

Without making any sudden or alarming moves, Aurelie slowly and cautiously reached inside her pocket and pulled out a folding knife. Placing her thumb upon the switch that would flick out its long, wickedly curving blade, she looked up inquisitively at the admin. "Shall we?"

They are cornered into a dark alleyway. Jayden turns around with a matching fierce glare, but he leaves it to Aurelie Lefevre to burn them with her scathing remarks. Words are better left to those like her. Action to those like him.

[break][break] They ask for their surrender and although this is nothing but a simulation, the Rocket Admin refuses to give any such thing. Ice blades fly from his left hand just as darkness descends upon them, swallowing them into neverending black.

[break][break] Whether they hit or not remains to be unheard as the blacksmith turns to him. His head tilts towards her, considering her offer, before giving a nod.

[break][break] Flashing into his hand is the subtle steel of a silver switchblade, one perfectly crafted by her.

Suddenly, you can physically feel your skin pale. You grow tired as your life force, your Infinity Energy is siphoned by an incoming presence. The townsperson shrieks and flees into a nearby home as a SPECTRIER phases through nearby fencing, its hooves making no sound.[break][break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie's eye widened as the air grew chilly around them, a faint mist developing with her breath, and the admin's left hand opened wide to release a flurry of flying ice blades. Then a broad, delighted grin broke across her face. She made no effort to hide how his simple, decisive reply thrilled her.

"I knew we would be on the same page, Admin Cross," she said "Two knives and your ice powers against Genesects? Should be interesting!"

But they were never to find out, because the darkness that fell over the futuristic city kept deepening and intensifying. It cut off not only light but movement and sound. From a mere lack of illumination, it became an enshrouding void of blackness and silence, imprisoning them both in absolute solitude.

Then, to Aurelie's soaring relief, little pinpricks of light suddenly appeared in the distance, brightening the darkness. These weren't the flashing neon lights of the city, though. These were the fiery, wavering orange of torches and candlelit lanterns.

One such light bobbed toward them, revealing a rural landscape with cottages, trees, and fields, as well as the face of a villager approaching with a warning of a fearful horse spirit wandering in the night. His accent made Aurelie think with a pang of the medieval memory-Galar they'd lived in for twenty years.

Still confused by the dramatic change in landscape and the villager's odd words, Aurelie could only stare in shock when the spirit appeared before them: a Spectrier with a flowing mane and ethereal hooves that made no sound at all against the ground. She fought against the growing weakness in her muscles as the Spectrier came closer, its presence making her feel colder and wearier than ever.

Feebly, Aurelie craned her head to glance at Jayden, still beside her. "Admin, you said you like Ghost types, right? Do you know of a way to communicate with this Spectrier so it's not stealing everyone's life force and scaring the living daylights out of random farmers?"

It never even occurred to her to instead consider slaying the creature. The Spectrier was too beautiful, too extraordinary. And if she had a weakness—and Arceus knew she had many—a reverence for things of beauty and rarity was certainly one of them.

Tame it.

Before they could begin, the area was suddenly swathed in darkness. Stars blanketed the horizon above them, reminding the admin of his Galarian upbringing. A feeling of nostalgia pierced him like the stars pinpricked the sky above as he breathed in the cool night air.

[break][break] Slowly but surely, the visage of a towns person appeared in the distance. Blurry as they were, their voice carried crisply across the night.

[break][break] A shiver ran down his own spine.

[break][break] "I do," he said in response to Aurelie. Reaching into his belt, he released his own Spectrier who howled in response to it's sibling, galloping forward. Hauntingly beautiful, a DRAINING KISS absconded forward.
