Tavish pulled the hood over his head closer as he entered the Galarian offices. His actions could not be approved by all of Hoenn, and the less barriers in his way, the better. Even if they hadn’t amounted to anything more than petty theft, disturbing the peace, and beating the sin out of some Rocket Grunts.

Nobody gave him problems right away. He managed to get past the immediate security with few problems, thanks to the crest granted to him by the Queen. That useless bitch of a figurehead knew that for him to use it would be to mean he needed help. A blow to his pride and ego, as it were.

Thank goodness it was a one-sided conflict. Otherwise, there might be some hesitation as he whipped it around. Anyone who recognized him was stopped by the wax, as well as anyone that looked at him funny.

And it worked right up to the front desk. Once he got there, though, that’s when it stopped working as well. He set the blood-red wax seal on the laminated wood and simply stared at the person behind the computer.

“Hello to you too,” they said with tired, unamused eyes. “What do you want?”

“I need to speak with… someone. Important.”

“Yea, and I need to find a guy that doesn’t cheat. Get in line.”

“It is of the utmost importance. Please, just get me to an ambassador, or whoever’s here.”

“Do you have an appointment?”

“No.”

“Damn. That sucks. Make one and come back in a month.”

“I don’t have a month. This needs t’happen now. And so help me, I will–”

“Get tossed out on your ass by security– yea I know,” they reached over to take the seal, but stopped once they gave it a proper look. Realization dawned, and they rolled their eyes. “Oh, for the love of- I don't get paid enough for this…”

“Glad we're on the same page," he said. "I just want t'talk."

When the royal Galarian ambassador to Hoenn gets a call from her secretary, the message on the speaker tells her that some weird man is asking for one diplomat to talk with him. “I will be right there. Thank you.” The shiny Polteageist floats off from the bookshelf when he sees her get up from her desk and go out of the doorway of her office. Ever since her former capture by Rocket, Elise had always been a little scared of meeting the same kind of bad people again.[break][break]

Moreso since they threatened the lives of her staff there.[break][break]

She’ll come out to the front Galarian offices and its front desk with the secretary still typing away at her computer. The guy who wanted to talk with her doesn’t have to wait long as the shiny Polteageist floats behind the dark magenta haired ambassador in her business suit. “You wish to speak with me, sir?” Elise asks in a composed, refined manner. “Well...for what purpose?”

Tavish watched the ambassador approach with a gold gaze. Even if he didn’t know her, there was little chance the opposite was true. If she’d kept up with the happenings back in Galar, then his face was a familiar one. Tavish Rose: eco-terrorist, wanted criminal. Finally caught sometime after The Darkest Day, and then vanished off the face of the earth.

But now, he’s here. Right in front of her, rough and ragged, with an awfully familiar waxen seal in his hand. It slid to her and caught the light on its crimson surface: from royalty. “I wish to speak with anyone who can help me out. One from home.”

“Is there any chance we can speak in private?” He looked at the various people who now stared at him with cold glares or confused faces. “It’s very important, and not fer wayward ears.”

The strange man tells her that he needed help with something from home. He did step into the Galarian Embassy’s building, so he may have come from the same country that she represented too. “I believe that I can help you with your problem from home.” A reply comes with a nod from the ambassador since she had been taught well by her elder cousin to handle every situation from other Galarian immigrants that came to the embassy.[break][break]

And when the man requests that it’s a matter that can’t be heard by other people, she presumes that he probably doesn’t want undue attention on himself. “If it will be prudent, we can talk in my office.” Elise offers helpfully while her shiny Polteageist goes off on his own to signal to her Mismagius that her office is having a client. “And it will be much safer to talk there, so that your request will stay there without people being able to hear.”

“Good.”

Tavish offered little else in terms of acknowledgement, and even less in courtesy as they left the front desk. Further into the system that was the Galarian Diplomacy section of this building. Either this person was new, lived under a rock, didn’t care, or truly didn’t know who he was. But he wasn’t about to fill in that blank if unrequired.

The easier this went, the better for him. For the cause.

As soon as they stepped into Elise’s office, Tavish shut the door behind him with a firm tug. He pushed against the wood, only to hear it strain against the frame. Good. A few steps were put further into the space, but he would not sit down at any provided chairs. That’s how good men died from traps.

“I won’t waste me– our, time 'ere,” he corrected himself. From his combat vest, a piece of paper emerged. Folded and half and rough around the edges, he tossed it directly onto the ambassador’s desk. “The queen damned me t'this hell, and I’m lookin' t'claw my way out.”

Exile was the harshest crime they could’ve given him. For that, he had to tip his head in respect. “And if I’m to tear Rocket apart with me own two hands, I’ll need supplies.”

If Elise opened the paper, she’d see a massive list of neatly scrawled in items. The ‘supplies’ ranged from simple things, like ‘rations’ and ‘chemistry sets’, to much more elaborate things. Dangerous things. Chemicals she’d never heard of, gunpowder, hollow iron shells. Materials for explosives.

“That's the bare minimum I've deduced to need.”

The diplomat takes the man’s words with stride and when he mentioned the Queen of Galar, the bitter feelings over her aunt threaten to surface. Queen Edela Calcifet wanted to bring back Remiel to Galar for a popularity rise with the royalty, but even the Queen couldn’t very much convince her son to come back to his own country.[break][break]

There was something Elise hadn’t asked her elder cousin. She thought that Remiel had not told her of the other things that happened back home than the slander his twin brother gave.[break][break]

“My aunt has exiled you here, did she? I…also have very negative feelings about her, but I was not sure if I have the power to go against her wishes.” The Galarian royal does not know how many people the Queen has hurt to stay on her throne or how many people the Queen has banished away to other hells. All the Queen wanted was to gain more power, more control.[break][break]

A list is opened by the female Galarian Ambassador and the military styled man talks about provisions for his fight against Team Rocket. “If you are fighting against Team Rocket, I can assist with giving you your supplies.” She’ll respond with a nod. “I can see if the platoon that I train under as a military medic will have those you need.”

“Psh,” Tavish waved his hand and leaned against the back of a chair. “Ye’d be lucky t’find half the reagents listed in a university lab. Start askin’ back home– er the black market, if ye can manage it They always got the stuff in stock.”

He didn’t dare ask about the ‘why’ or ‘how’ of why Elise was so willing and unreluctant to do as he asked. It felt comedically suspicious, but he still held relatively little power in this situation. If he dared raise a finger to the ambassador, he’d be lucky to get a bullet between the eyes for his troubles.

Better to treat this as legit, and plot revenge if it turned out to be a farce.

“Tools ‘n easy chemicals are all I’ll need right away, the black powder and equivalents,” he said. Another piece of paper emerged, and this one much smaller and shorter than the last. An address to some place in Petalburg City. “Bring ‘em there. I can get them to my base.”

“Shouldn’t be a problem, since ye’ve no problem with the likes of me,” he pushed off and crossed his arms. “If ye hate yer ‘aunt’, then start actin’ against her. Officially supportin’ me will right piss her off.”

Career suicide as well. Tavish knew nobody worth their salt would support an active terrorist– what they called him anyway. He preferred the term ‘activist’. He was mighty active, and he did lots of things right. Murder included. But the worst she could say is 'no'.

A military hospital couldn’t have the reagents the guy needed and he’s suggesting that she’ll ask about the stuff back home in Galar or in the black market. She was not sure if Slateport University’s lab would even have the things he asked from the list. Those were dangerous chemicals that she’s sure the professors at the lab wouldn’t give out to students without asking what reason they’ll have for them.[break][break]

The tools and the easy chemicals that the man asks are the things that can be reasonably asked for. “I will ensure that you will be brought the tools and the easy chemicals.” She gives a nod since he had talked about using those in the fight against Rocket. Many of the other high end leaguers were also fighting against the same criminal organization while she grapples with the fact that her elder cousin was a former Rocket.[break][break]

“Yes, I would’ve already…made her angry on supporting you.” Elise had already felt better about not being in Galar and away from the watchful eye of the Queen. “I only wish that she could see reason over her unplaced hatred on Hoenn.”

“If she’d see reason, then I wouldn’t be ‘ere,” was all Tavish offered to Elise. A hopeful hypothetical, but a foolish one. If things were just different, then they wouldn’t be as they currently were. No point to dwell on things that couldn’t change. Just had to work around them.

Like he did.

“But I figured what the answer would’ve been,” he trailed off as he pushed away from her desk. So long as Elise wasn’t a liar, then they were in business. Just had to get the ball rolling. “Worst was a ‘no’. S’long as you get me the harder stuff as ye can, then we’ll be square.”

“You know where to find me, if ye have questions,” he said. Tavish had settled his business, and there wasn’t anything to do in a bureaucratic office. Either she was a woman of her word and he was going to have a much easier time, or she wasn’t and he’d have to hide himself away for a while. Regardless, neither needed him be here.

And it was awfully stuffy in there. Smelled too much like hypocrisy and formalities. Not his style. That’s why he turned to leave without so much as a wave goodbye or a thanks.

Her aunt had been busy as of late and there was no way that the Queen would give her those supplies. It was why a black market would be the one to give her what he wanted on the list. Those chemicals would be in the same market too or it’ll be where she could easily get them for his cause.[break][break]

“I will ensure that I will give you the harder things in time.” A nod came from the royal Galarian ambassador when he says his words. “And I will seek you out again to ask any questions I may have on your list of supplies.”[break][break]

It was not so much of a question when the man turns to the door out of her office. Without a word of goodbye or farewell, she might notice. Maybe the office was too stuffy, a reminder of the Calcifet Palace’s own decorations being of the finest materials.[break][break]

She’ll make sure to go over that list a few times if needed before setting off to get those supplies.
