As Noel Parker wanders throughout the war torn city of Dewford, he sees an icebound colossus far in the distance, causing the island to shudder beneath his feet. It groans and shakes, knowing that the end has come for this small corner of the Hoenn region.

The people of Dewford Town scream, knowing that they lived on the corpse of a dead dragon that squirmed in the darkness.

Noel Parker fights on, knowing that it's his duty as one of Navy's trusted few. He has been trained for this moment, and his numerous fights against the Nihilego with howard slayte have trained him to rage against the ancient darkness and otherworldly creatures that now threaten his home.

An Ultra Beast's grand wingspan casts a large shadow on the ground as it flies by. In the distance, a pulse of Dynergy emerges from the Regice rampaging towards the city. As the Dynergy is absorbed into the alien, it begins to Dynamax.

Noel Parker stands alone.

A blanket of darkness envelops the once lively town. No matter how much the League prepared Dewford for an invasion, Noel knew that it would never be enough. Too open, not enough personnel to defend the area, Ultra Beasts practically spewing forth from its own cave, a large mess of problems... But still, this was his home. And he'd rather die than to see it taken away by anyone, or anything.[break][break]

He does his best to help those he can. Townsfolk scurry across in every direction, all abandoning their homes now crushed by the Nagandel flying overhead. The flaps of its wings enough to blow away the roofs of countless homes. Not everyone is lucky. Bodies were strewn all throughout the ground, people unfortunate to become prey, plucked from the sky and dropped into a bloody pile.[break][break]

Noel commands his Hisuian Goodra to aid any stragglers, to act as Shelter for them to escape.[break][break]

"Go hurry! Leave now and don't look back!"[break][break]

The shaking grew closer and closer. The visage of a icy titan could be seen just a bit off in the distance. He was the only one left to protect his home, every other officer or ranger either occupied by other fronts, or simply... gone. What chance did he stand to face off against something so monstrous?[break][break]

Yet still he needed to try. Even if his legs quaked and his mind filled his heart with dread, he has to try.[break][break]

With his Shaymin by his side, it immediately transform into its Stellar Tera. Now was the time to pull out all the stops.[break][break]

"Its just you, me, and that thing now buddy. Let's take back our home."[break][break]

The two nod to each other, then face the Ultra Beast with eyes filled with determination. The crystallized hedgehog steps forward, an ant compared to the size of their foe. It begins to whip up a storm, leaves from the surrounding trees shake off and hover into the sky, hundreds if not thousands of bladed greenery join together to form a Petal Blizzard. The attack would attempt and encase the dragon in its tornado, cutting away at whatever it could with its sharp edges.

As Noel uses his Goodra's mighty shell to shelter the civilians of Dewford, saving them from the harm of the otherworldly creatures. The townsfolk are experienced in these matters. This is not the first time that Dewford has been placed under siege, nor is it the first time that the city is collateral for something else.

To Team Rocket, the people of Dewford Town do not matter. Their lives are forfeit. They are simply maggots worming across the corpse of a dragon that once razed Galar to the ground. Now, it was squirming, and the aliens that live within its guts squirm with it in unison. [break][break]

The Naganadel roars as its Dynamax Barrier is shattered, though it has plenty in reserve. Beasts born in Eternatus's innards live in constant harmony with Dynergy, and this Ultra Beast is no difference. It is stronger. Faster. More used to Dynamax than many other Pokémon, even if this will be its only chance at Dynamax. [break][break]

After it reverts, it will die. Such is the fate of those without Dynamax Bands.

As Noel's Shaymin Terastallizes, the Naganadel screams at it in a laughing manner. It sneers, even as it lets out a MAX OOZE that towers over the nearby buildings, threatening to drown the trainer and his Shaymin in vile waste. [break][break]

Dynergy swirls around. Whispers fill Noel's mind, reminding him of his failures as a trainer, as a person, as a friend.

Regice towers in the distance, but the golem is unreachable. It is only Noel, his Pokémon, the Ultra Beast, and the whispers of the past.

A poisonous sea threatens to wash away everything in sight. Just from a mere drop, buildings and trees are burned through as if they never existed in the first place. Noel stands in front of the toxic waste. And that's all he does. Stand.[break][break]

He couldn't move even a finger, nor even make a sound. His eyes completely fixated on the oncoming wave before him with fear running rampant throughout his mind. Time and time again has he faced death, and every time he reacts in the same way.[break][break]

Why? Why was he always so scared? He puts on a brave face, but when the going gets rough, he's no better than a child. What good is he to anyone if this is how he treats every situation. He couldn't help anyone in the Megalopolan prison. He couldn't help anyone during the fight against Kyurem.[break][break]

He couldn't help anyone.[break][break]

"T-Thats... I can't... fight that..."[break][break]

Panic sets in. Before he can do anything, the MAX OOZE comes crashing down on him. He closes his eyes, unsure of what he'll wake to next, or anything at all.[break][break]

A cry echoes out through his ears. His eyes open widely, and the sight before him astounds him. The little Mythical Pokemon had conjured up an Earth Power around them. The ground beneath them jutting out as a shield to protect them from any harm. However, little by little is it eaten away by the acid and the hedgehog shouts in its exertion. Noel watches on, before the Nagandel's attack passes by them, leaving their surroundings a wasteland.[break][break]

"Shaymin... We can't win!... Not... by ourselves..."[break][break]

The Pokemon ignores him. Instead, through ragged breath and burned fur, it steps forward its eyes locked onto its target. A battle cry accompanies the glowing of its body. Grass energy reflects off its crystallized body before shooting out towards the flying Ultra Beast. The Seed Flare becoming a dazzling display of lights in the air.[break][break]

"Stop! Why aren't you listening to me? We're no match for it!"

The Naganadel laughs at Noel's weakness. At his shame. At his weakness. At his brevity. [break][break]

It is a miracle that Noel is even here to defend his hometown. The trainer who wanders Hoenn in search of battles and purpose has been everywhere. How many battles has he fought in? Ten? Twenty? Thirty? Hundreds upon hundreds, most likely. He did not reach where he is now by skimping out on practice. [break][break]

Yet it is still luck and misfortune that allows Noel to be in Dewford now, when his town needs him most.

The Dynergy swirls. Shaymin can purify toxic air with their unique biology. As it lunges forward with a Seed Flare building, Dynergy pouring into the Mythical Pokemon's body as it attempts to purify the environment in an attempt to save Noel, all the Naganadel does is laugh. It mocks the attempt, content in the understanding that its Dynergy Barrier is powerful. [break][break]

It will not break here. Not to an Earth Power, and not to a Seed Flare that it resists. Yet Terastallization offers a path forward. A path of possibility.

Even alone, Noel stands with his Pokémon.
[break][break]
As another barrier shatters, the Shaymin is batted aside with a flap of the Ultra Beast's leathery wings. It opens its maw, letting out a blast of fire intending to drown Noel and his Pokémon in a sea of flames. [break][break]

Thud. Thud. Thud. The familiar sound of paws against Dewford's streets ring out. [break][break]

Something is coming.

A fire grows in the east, like dawn over the sea. It grows, an orange streak of extreme speed across the ground. Arcanine, in ancient days, was called the legendary pokemon. It was a title the storied line held before modern scientific terminology developed the term into a proper taxonomy, which did not include Arcanine. As Voyager rushes across the landscape, a blur of smooth perpetual motion, it is easy to see why the ancients would classify it as such.[break]
Voyager has always felt a sense of fierce loyalty to Noel. He allowed the younger trainer to ride him when they chased down a biker gang together. When ultra beasts and dead things threatened Granite Cave, he had Noel's back. Now, in Dewford's darkest hour, he comes to help once more.[break]
[break]
He howls, and with that howl comes the morning sun. Night turns to day, and above them the legendary dog conjures their very own sun. To the people of Dewford, he shows a dog's unconditional adoration. He loves them, as is his nature. To love is to protect, and so he looks up at the creature with a low snarl growing in his throat.[break]
[break]
Again, he builds up speed. He rushes forward, reckless, wild, unwilling to compromise or allow Noel to meet his end here. Fire gathers around him, and he slams into the Naganadel in a bright flare blitz, skidding past and leaving the morning sun to aid Noel.[break]
Dynergy swirls throughout the town, and Voyager moves on to help shepherd the remaining townsfolk to the safety of the bunkers.

A powerful wind that could easily blow away tree trunks as if they were mere paper is whipped up by the Nagandel. Noel is slightly taken back as his feet slide along the ground, barely able to keep himself standing from the unwavering force. It isn't until the Shaymin is sent flying back, its small body unable to withstand the gale and crash landing into its trainer.[break][break]

The two are knocked back and sent rolling along the floor as Noel clutches his partner into his arms tightly, holding on for his dear life. His back smacks roughly against a building wall and a pained yell is muffled by the deafening air surrounding them. Slowly the attack dissipates, and all that could be heard afterwards was the insulting roar of laughter from up above.[break][break]

Everything hurt. From his head down to his entire body, and from his emptied lungs to his troubled heart.[break][break]

The night sky contains a demon. Fire coming down from its mouth like dragon's breath. With barely any strength left in him, Noel is unable to muster anything up at all to command his body. It seemed as though his fate was already decided for him.[break][break]

Suddenly, the stars disappear and the dark horizon brightens up with the rise of a burning sun. A flash of red blurs across the ground. Too fast for Noel's eyes to catch up. When that streak of red smashes into the flying dragon, interrupting its rain of fire, he finally is able to discern its identity.[break][break]

"Voyager!..."[break][break]

He's reminded of simpler times. When the only world that existed for him was located right here in this town. When all he wanted to be was, the very best.[break][break]

As quickly as Voyager arrives does he depart. There was no time for reunions. The townspeople still needed their help and with the aid of Voyager and his Hisuian Goodra, do they vacate the premises.[break][break]

The Shaymin escapes from Noel's grasp, landing forward and already readying up for another attack. All while he sat in silence with his back to the wall.[break][break]

Everyone around him had a role to play. Something they can do that only they can do.[break][break]

Everyone. Except...[break][break]

"Me." He whispers to himself. "Me, its always me."[break][break]

Why can I never be strong enough? Brave enough? Everything is resolved with or without me... I'm tired... of being me. These words echo loudly inside his mind. Downtrodden eyes meet the sand beneath him, before lifting up to watch the Nagandel recoiling and recovering still from Michael Navidson's Arcanine. Then... I won't be me... This isn't the time or place for who I was. I'm going to be... who I've always wanted to be. Someone who can and will do the right thing.[break][break]

His hands reach behind him, using the building as leverage for him to rise back up. He takes a step forward and aligns himself up with his partner. The Shaymin looking beside it to see Noel with a fired up expression in his determined stare against their enemy.[break][break]

"I'm sorry. You knew all along what we needed to do didn't you? Here I was cowering away while you fought your hardest to keep everyone safe and protect us. Well... its time for me to do the same."[break][break]

The small hedgehog lets out cheery chirps as if speaking to its trainer, overjoyed to see him stepping up to the plate once more. And while Noel didn't understand what it could be saying, its sentiments still reached him.[break][break]

"Thanks... Now... let's hit it with everything we've got. Solar Beam!"[break][break]

A battle cry accompanies the gathering of grass energy from the front of the Shaymin's mouth. While no longer empowered by its Stellar terastallization, the bright sunlight allows the move to be charged up faster than normal. A bright laser is shot out and aims to clip the Nagandel's body. Hopefully this sunlight would last long enough to give them the advantage they needed.
