She had seen the reports of strange gold Pokemon around Hoenn and that did warrant some looking into. Elise imagines that the other rangers were into it too and she thankfully gets some help with Silverio for that. Her Trevenant comes with her in wanting to keep her safe. She’s glad to have her tree Pokemon help even when he hasn’t been out much due to her taking the stronger Pokemon to the war in Petalburg in the past month.[break][break]

“I haven’t seen them much myself.” The royal ambassador talks with the Rustboro stationed ranger. “But I think they do look like they’re tough opponents for my Pokemon.”[break][break]

Maybe they’ll be good for her Pokemon to train with while she’s still a newly appointed Ranger Captain. Strength was good to protect a city from Rocket, a worry that never lets her be if Petalburg had been taken.

just when he was starting to believe that he has seen just about all there is in hoenn to explore, if only on a pretense of a means for record-keeping, the phenomena have only begun to expand even further it seems. the latest of which telling of pokémon that shine a radiant shade of a quality golden hue wreaking havoc all across these lands. where they had come from is anyone's guess, but one thing was certain, and it was that in order to preserve the safety of the environment - and all of the pokémon that inhabit it - these being need to be dealt with.[break][break]

a matter of urgency, and thus, silverio aligns himself with his captain today with a full lineup of six pokémon at his beck and call. out on the field with him right now is his trusted canine companion, a lycanroc, sniffing around in search of a clue as to whereabouts of these mysterious golden entities. "according to recent reports, one of them was said to be lurking somewhere along this route. i strongly suggest that we proceed with utmost caution."[break][break]

the idea of battling against said creatures, if they are proven to be real anyway, would likely never come to silv's mind otherwise. "but if you're really looking to battle with one of them...then i got your back."

Pokemon with golden colors did tend to be a lot more dangerous than she thought according to the reports that she looked over. “I’ll be careful, don’t worry.” She replies to the Rustboro ranger who’s one of her workers. Hints of the Pokemon’s footprints would tell her that it’s a canine of some sort. [break][break]

Along the route, the ambassador follows the footprints which get a little clear to her and the Trevenant that follows her. A growl comes from the direction of a much dangerous Pokemon, one that she knows from her country.[break][break]

Standing in its territory was a golden Boltund. [break][break]

When the golden Boltund leaps at the Galarian royal, Deku the Trevenant comes to her aid. Claws from the tree ghost’s hand swipes at the gold Boltund with a Shadow Claw and the gold canine Pokemon jumps back with a low growl.[break][break]

“It’s not very friendly now. We should prepare for combat.”

he can't help but to worry...[break][break]

the reports of the golden pokémon may not be enough of an indication as to how much of a threat to the people, and to the pokémon inhabiting this quaint environment. still, the job entrusted to the two rangers today was to subdue it by any means necessary. to be brutally honest, silverio wishes that neither he nor his captain would need to resort to extreme measures in order to fulfill the task at hand, but if push comes to shove...[break][break]

lo and behold, the 'shove' comes sooner than he would've liked.[break][break]

the wolf pokémon moves to utilize its sharp nose to track any scent of unusual happenstances. although, it wasn't long at all before the biggest threat to this area in recent memory finally presents itself. a fellow canine, this one radiating a mesmerizing brilliance of gold - precisely as the reports had described it. boltund, already establishing itself as a hostile figure.[break][break]

at elise's command, silv and his lycanroc assume a readied stance. this would by no means be an ordinary battle against just any wild pokémon, but one who some folks had alluded to as 'noble'. "get in there and help 'em out!" the paldean quickly orders his lycan friend, and the wolf swiftly rushes in following the trevenant's attack, zig-zagging steps towards the opposition, seeking to trailblaze through their foe.[break][break]

afterward, a shift in the wolf's proverbial gears may be noticeable as it maneuvers at seemingly immeasurable speeds.

The golden yellow Boltund growls from the Trailblaze that the Rustboro ranger’s Lycanroc gives it. It sets its sights onto the Lycanroc now and with eyes glowing from anger, its fangs try to attack the other canine with Ice Fang. The glowing Boltund was definitely a lot more dangerous when it was protecting its home. [break][break]

“Deku, interrupt the Boltund with Horn Leech now!” The ambassador would have to work in protecting her co-worker’s Lycanroc from harm as the horn-like branches from her Trevenant stop the Boltund from biting down the rock type canine. A low growl comes from the glowing Boltund and it feels the piercing pain from the Trevenant’s Horn Leech.[break][break]

If it was much more powerful, she’ll have to resort to using her partner Pokemon’s strength. Her Mismagius was definitely the one she’ll use to help take down powerful Pokemon like this.

the opposing canine takes a hit, but the lycanroc has now drawn its attention away from the galarian royal and her companion. the golden boltund now seeks to sink its teeth into the wolf pokémon and instill chills into his veins. the lycanroc vying to steer himself away from the vile beast, but yet somehow, despite the wolf's enhanced speed, the boltund manages to stay on pace with him. "how...?" with no clear answer in sight, silverio fumbles in attempts to devise a countermeasure against the oncoming ice attack.[break][break]

out of nowhere...[break][break]

an assist from elise's trevenant presents an opening as silv turns to his captain, offers a quick nod in succession then proceeds to continue direct traffic for his own canine partner. "stone edge! make it a little extra sharp!" almost instantly, in tandem with his trainer's words, the wolf shoots forward. outstretched paws unveiling claws as sharp as a mountain's pointed and craggy peaks to strike down the rampaging 'noble' entity. should that not be enough to immobilize it...[break][break]

then how much more of an effort would be required...!?

A whine comes from the glowing golden Boltund as Stone Edge’s sharp rocks cut through the fur of the canine. It stops for a second as it’s clearly wounded though it switches to the Trevenant owned by the Ranger Captain that it jumps onto the Trevenant with a Crunch down onto the tree Pokemon’s branch-like body. The attack was strong enough to the ghost type that it makes Deku unable to get up and continue fighting.[break][break]

The red light from the Trevenant’s Dusk Ball returns the tree Pokemon back and in his place, Elise sends out her partnered Mismagius to take her Trevenant’s place in battle.[break][break]

“Finish what Deku started. Psychic now!” Yellow eyes from the Mismagius glow blue as Psychic begins to create blasts towards the golden Boltund. Whining comes from the golden canine with Psychic blasts tearing into the flesh of the Boltund too. [break][break]

From the looks of it, the golden Pokemon seemed to be looking a little exhausted now.

damage is being done, but how much of it would prove to be enough? or worse, too much? regardless of the context in this scenario, the safety of the environment takes precedence above all else -- not to mention the well-being of the pokémon inhabiting these lands, as well those belonging to people such as the two rangers combating the golden beast. before the paldea could think of a means to follow-up, the 'noble' boltund diverts its attention away from the rocky wolf and towards the ghostly tree.[break][break]

"oh no..."[break][break]

not quick enough to react, was he nor his lycanroc. trevenant is downed by the radiant beast, prompting an appearance from elise's spectral witch, seeking to avenge her fallen comrade. "two can play that game..." silverio mutters to no one in particular before issuing his next order to his partner. suppose that it wouldn't be much longer for the electric canine to endure this impending two-on-one assault, as it may be shaken up by mismagius's psychic attack. "use rock slide to trip 'em up!"[break][break]

immediately, the lycanroc summons a trial of rocky crags, shooting up from the ground beneath his paws en route to the golden pokemon.

She had never seen such strength from a Boltund, much less a golden one that defeated her Trevenant easily. Luckily, Silverio’s Lycanroc throws out a Rock Slide that batters the body of the Boltund. Rock Slide also had the added effect of making the gold Boltund flinch which was a huge boon for Elise’s Mismagius to help exhaust their oppnent further.[break][break]

“Good, I can help tire it out.” The royal ambassador nods towards her colleague before she gives an order to her Mismagius. “Use Shadow Ball and weaken it some more.” [break][break]

A Shadow Ball is created by the witch-like ghost and she launches it towards the unmoving Boltund. When the attack hits, the golden Boltund growls though it’s not able to move much from being battered by the Lycanroc’s Rock Slide. Soon, she’ll send the report of the Pokemon she fought with to Project SAPPHIRE.
