Apparently getting struck by lightning sucks. [break][break]

Thankfully he was lucky enough to avoid having his bones broken, and there hasn't been seizures yet there were still plenty of problems that had hit him hard. The memory thing being his biggest issue which had apparently made him lose SIX years of his life. Making the past his present and the present feel more like the future and he isn't really sure on how to adjust to this. Then to add to it he still kept getting the headaches, dizziness and just the constant fatigue that has basically kept his sleep schedule to what felt like a cat pokemon. [break][break]

Theo has tried to keep him up to date with things on the new positions and who they were, but without faces to these names he still struggled. For the time being he tried to do as told and exercise to help the nerve issues he was having as well. Using the hand gripper the underboss had gotten him, though despite his efforts he wasn't getting much results it felt like. [break][break]

That's when there is the knock on the door, and for a moment he just expect Theo to come in. Yet after a minute he doesn't and now he isn't sure if he should. He was told that he wasn't allowed to leave so he knows better, but he hasn't been told anything about visitors. Raziel looks to the Bulbasaur who laid on the bed as he himself was unsure about answering. Not that the thing was any help in his decision. [break][break]

He clicks his tongue in annoyance but eventually he would limp to the door and open it. It would be obvious that his balance was still off as he was probably holding onto the door to keep himself up, and since his shirt was off the lichtenberg figures were on full display for the other to see. [break][break]

"Gavin?" he questions with pure confusion. Had he known the other was an underboss now he would've moved aside and allowed him in but for Raziel? For him he just saw the man less than a week ago, and was still a lab grunt like him, one in which he was still upset and bitter with. "Come to mock at my pain?" he grumbles but at least he isn't shutting the other out. [break][break]

Not yet at least.

SIX years was a long time.[break][break]

Cillian has forgotten none of it. The betrayals, the bitterness, the war against someone he'd once viewed like a little brother. Time has seen hurt dull and solidify to hatred.[break][break]

It would not be easy to pretend that nothing has changed, but he knows enough of THEO BECKETT's plan to understand his role in it. Had Raziel never left, he'd have still loved him like a brother... even if that feeling had not remained mutual. Last they'd spoke as comrades in Rocket, Raziel had thought him a traitor.[break][break]

So the bitter reception when the door opens isn't shocking, though the follow-up is.[break][break]

"Why the hell would I do that?"[break][break]

Much is different about 'Gavin'. Age shows at the corner of his eyes. He is no taller than he had been, but he carries himself with a pride and importance that seems to add to his height. His pupils are ringed with deep violet that transitions to familiar amber. SHADOW MIASMA drifts around him. New scars mark his skin, most evident by a deep slash across one cheek.[break][break]

And then there's the name, of course.[break][break]

Theo didn't tell you?[break][break]

What he says instead is, "It's Cillian, now. May I come in?"[break][break]

A request, not an order. His gaze lingers on the scars.

"Cause why turn me in to my dad if this isn't the result you wanted?" Raziel questions back without missing a beat. Had the years not gone by he probably would've just shut the door then and there but right now he's just taking in the changes and it's weird to see the man so different. [Break][break]

Though the miasma is weird and Raziel can't help but wonder if there is some type of gas leak in the sub causing it, that or a pokemon but he doesn't see any. Avatars haven't been brought up yet as Raziel hasn't been able to keep himself up long enough for more than some history, names and ranks of those important, and some psychical therapy due to the fatigue. [Break][break]

Eyes widen at the name though"Cillian..? Like Cillian Quinn? Cillian Quinn the Underboss?" he ask and once more he feels sick, his tone taking a quick 180 as he steps back to invite the other in his skin now looking pale with a mix of feeling sick and pure fear. "I... I'm sorry... I didn't mean the...." disrespect he pauses slightly because he thinks they both knew he did. [Break][break]

Did Theo forget this fact? Or was it just something his short term memory had forgotten? either way the world feels like it's spinning as he backs up, might have fallen had the toxic chained Bulbasaur not grabbed him and started guiding him to the mini bathroom to allow Raziel to throw up what little breakfast he had. [Break][break]

We've been over this, Cillian wants to snap, but reminds himself that Raziel's memory is stuck in the past. Forcing patience, he says, "I didn't turn you in. I've told you as much, but I guess you don't remember."

He sees the connection dawn on Raziel in widening eyes and pallid skin. He was terrified, Cillian realised, and why wouldn't he be? In Silas' day, neither of them would've dared breathe wrong in the presence of an underboss. He doesn't know if Raziel had ever met Blackwell, but Cillian had. He can hardly blame the intensity of the reaction, the fumbling words.[break][break]

But this wasn't Kanto. This was HOENN.[break][break]

Raziel stumbles to the bathroom, and Cillian steps into the room without further invitation needed. MIASMA follows him in, rolling across the floor like spreading fog. Cillian's gaze cuts across the small space before settling over Raziel again.[break][break]

"I've been underboss for years, now," he affirms. Should he find somewhere to sit, he'd do so. "Arceus. That bolt fucked your memory more than I thought. No harm done." He flicks his wrist, dismissive.[break][break]

The Bulbasaur was unfamiliar to him. Had Theo given it to Razz? Cil doesn't ask, but he watches the small Pokemon with interest.

Had it not been for the foggy brain Raziel might have been able to connect the dots on his own about the culprit of how his father learned the information. Yet it wasn't something he could connect so easily for the time being. Especially now that he was emptying out his stomach. [break][break]

He's quick to washout his mouth after before coming back to the room to see the underboss has taken the chair at the desk so he makes his way to his bed with the Bulbasuar still helping him keep steady before he flops onto the bed to continue their conversation. "Do you have some sort of mini fog machine on you?" he can't help but question as the fog was now in his room. [break][break]

Raziel looks over to the now 'underboss' at the mention of the lightning and he can't help but raise his hand to look at the burn mark on his hand where the bolt exited his body, "Six years are now just gone apparently," he informs unsure just how much the underboss knew. Raziel trying to figure out how he needed to talk to the other now. [break][break]

"Though given my father's track record probably for the best given how Theo has described things" he admits to as he could only image what punishments his father enforced after his 'rebellion.'[break][break]

he shows off his arm after that, "But the scar is kinda cool?" he mentions as if to bring up the mood, a habit that he had once lost as 'Razz' but seems to have come back with the loss of his memories.

At mention of a fog machine, Cillian's stoic demeanor breaks beneath a sharp, genuine laugh.[break][break]

"No," he says, when he's recovered. "It's one of my powers."[break][break]

Truth be told, he'd barely noticed it himself. The MIASMA was a part of him, now. Just as you might not register the path of exhaled breath, so too does he disregard the fog he exudes.[break][break]

He doesn't consider that Theo hasn't filled Raziel in on Avatars and their powers, yet, and states it as nonchalantly as a fact about the weather.

Cillian doesn't flinch at the mention of Pryde's punishment. At the time it had happened, Cillian had thought it was well-deserved. Now, it's hard to decide what to feel. Raziel was supposed to be on their side again. Was he meant to disregard years of treachery and conflict just because of his CAPTURE?

He swallows all of that down, for now, and plays his part.

"Wicked cool," Cillian agrees of the scar. "Way cooler than any of mine."
[break][break]
The scar Raziel would know best, the one that went through his left hand, is as healed as it's ever going to be. White where it had once been furious red, with a few extra incisions from surgeries he's had since. But it doesn't seem to bother him, and he gestures with the hand as much as his right. Apart from a slight stiffness in the movements of his fingers, he's recovered well.

Raziel will have better treatment for his injuries than Cillian ever had from Rocket.

"Well, I'll fill in what I can for you. What do you want to know?"

"Powers?" Raziel simply repeats seemingly dumbfounded with confusion. Though he doesn't question it, just lets it go as from his experiance questions were frowned on. He'd be told when he needed to know and Raziel has come to just accept that. [break][break]

When Gav-Cillian doesn't mention anything about his father doubt can't help but crawl in. Pondering if what the other said was true or not, or if he were just taking advantage of the fact that he couldn't remember to place the blame on someone who wasn't here to say otherwise. [break][break]

Least the topic is quick to move on and Raziel can't help but smile. He had almost forgotten how much he enjoyed talking to the other as he allowed his anger and pride to get in his way isolating him more before the incident. "True, but I think our problem is pretty much the same," he offers before he shows off his hand and the way his fingers only slightly bend, "this is my trying to make a fist," he mentions and as if on que his bulbasuar hand him his grip strengthener with one of it's vines and Raziel tries to use it again. [break][break]

Though once the floor was clear and permission was grated for questions Raziel has several that shoot out: [break][break]

"Whats the power thing? I don't think Theo and I got that far yet," its only been a few days so far.[break][break]
"Do you have any hand excercides that helped you that might help me?"[break][break]

"Whats with the ring?" he finishes it off because of course he would notice it.

Cillian grimaces sympathetically as Raziel tries to make a fist.[break][break]

"Fuck, don't gotta tell me twice. I remember what that was like." So too did he remember shaking with fear and fury in the privacy of his tiny Saffron apartment, wondering if he'd ever be able to use the hand again. What Rocket might do with a soldier it considered lame, when he couldn't PROTECT himself.[break][break]

He pushes away the bad memories, focusing on Raziel instead.[break][break]

Then come the questions. It reminds him of the old days in a bittersweet sense.[break][break]

"I'll teach you everything I can remember, yeah. You might need a few different ones since it's a bit different than what happened to me, but we'll figure it out."[break][break]

He shows off the ring more obviously. It features a Luvdisc in search of its paired ring.[break][break]

"Wedding ring. Got married a couple years ago. You've never met him," he adds, anticipating further curiosity. "But Theo might've mentioned his name. Tempest Quinn, he's one of the Beasts."[break][break]

Perhaps Raziel would remember how much Gavin had both feared and admired the ferocity of the Beasts in Kanto. They'd terrified and inspired him at once.[break][break]

"Powers, though... Arceus, that's a hell of a thing to explain. He didn't tell you anything about Avatars? How fresh are we starting, here?"

"Really? That's great!" he exclaims as he keeps the smile on. Raziel refusing to show his worry and doubt to the now Underboss, fearing to make the other doubt that he could make a full recovery. The underlining fear that Gavin was just like all the other higher up that he had to prove himself too... or else. [break][break]

Acting had definitely become a skill he'd become proficient in. [break][break]

Though he doesn't have to fake interest in the other's engagement as he looks genuinely happy for the other. And a little surprised for it too as he hasn't heard of the other being interested in others before. Though he leans in a little closer as if they would somehow be overheard in his private room, "So how exactly does the 'floosy' thing work out in a marriage?" he questions always curious but felt too awkward to ask his parents about it. [Break][break]

He ponders on the 'avatar' thing. "We've gone over some history, and the names and ranks of those in charge here, unfortunately I haven't been able to keep awake for more than a few hours at a time due to my fatigue, and he's not always here when I'm awake," he gestures to the room now as proof of that matter. "So he usually has to wake me, but the short term memory problem isn't helpful then," he offers trying to make clear that he didn't blame Theo at all for his lack of understanding.

Cillian figures not, based on his reaction to the earlier blunder surrounding his rank.[break][break]

He puts a pause on the other questions, for now, wholly focused on the fact that Raziel had essentially called him a whore in kinder words.

Raziel doesn't understand the shock or the stare from the word he used. It wasn't often that he was around married couples besides his parents so a lot of things were very unfamiliar with him . [Break][break]

"Ummmm not the actual definition no, but with the way Mom used it I'm going to guess 'temporary 3rd partner'" he answers simple not knowing it's full context.

"Oh," is soft at first, then, "Oh. Arceus. This is not the conversation I expected to be - all right."

He hadn't been aware that Raziel knew about any of that, let alone that Akeela would have called him a floozy. He'd be insulted if he was at all surprised. It made sense, for her.

"They have a more, uh, open marriage. We - Temp and I - do not."

Except that they'd mutually agreed that Walsh got a pass, as if that would ever happen.

"What!? No I didn't!" he was quick to protest because he feels like he would know better than to insult an Underboss in such a way. "that's just what mom called the people her and dad brought.... over...." and that's when the reality of it hit him and now he's disgusted. Maybe Gavin was the wrong person to ask, always a fun surprise to learn your friend got involved with your parents. "I am really sorry sir"[break][break]

"If it makes you feel better it's not like we were ever in the house during," he offers as his father would usually have Dr. Grif babysit them. "So not every married couple does that?" he questions they've already gotten this far so he may as well. [break][break]

"You didn't know." Where Raziel is disgusted, Cillian is quietly horrified. "I thought..."[break][break]

He'd thought that Raziel bringing it up meant that he was specifically asking how it worked in his marriage, because to him that line of logic made sense.[break][break]

He has the decency to flush with embarrassment. Not because he particularly cared about impressions of his own sexual promiscuity, but because they're talking about Raziel's parents.[break][break]
