"Theo," he answers simply answers still unsure about where the lines were. He isn't used to change and in his head things were all the same, yet he knows its not. Not that the space around him had really helped that as he has been ordered to stick to this room and this room only. He doesn't know the time, he doesn't know the day, as outside the single window was just nothing but the deep sea. So a lot of things still felt out of sorts but most importantly was just, why would anything change?[break][break]

"Heh can go back 4 years with your shadow powers and tell that to that witch Victoria?" he partially jokes in response, though his dislike of Theo's daughter Victoria Beckett was probably not new to the other. He is sure he has complained about both her and also some of the other kids in his class before if Cillian had given him the chance to talk about it between work. Though with the way his brain was currently scrambled he has zero recollection if the other has spoken about the other's daughter to him before. Though his head can't help but tilt curiously at the other at the next bit.[break][break]

"You outranked him?" Raziel could only imagine what kind of power trip that could entail, "Did you... get back at him then?" He didn't know the full extent to what Theo had put Cillian through, only bore witness to the time he took him from the labs. Everything else he only saw second hand with the way he would come in injured more often than not. [break][break]

"Mystery like the genre or mystery like you've forgotten their topics?" he can't help but question but only seems to tilt his head the other way at the other at the mention of the romance novel. Pondering if this was something he was always interested in or something more new since he was married now. Or maybe he was only now realizing just how little he knew of the other's life outside of work. "Ummm paleontology and fossil Pokémon sound good, fiction books were also one of those things that weren't allowed and until I get the go ahead I think I'd rather play it safe if you don't mind sir"

Remembering too well what it had been like to be subject to Beckett's every whim, Cillian doesn't diffuse with humour as he otherwise might have done. Instead, he dips his head.

"I'm only turning seventeen, not even an adult yet," he comments seeming to have completely forgotten that he had mentioned this already. A side effect from the lightning strike, though unlike before he doesn't seem to recognize the mistake as his tired mind is finding it harder to recall things. Though part of it might also be due to his personal annoyance of Cillian defending one of his old bullies. Yet the other was an underboss now, he wasn't allowed to say no. [break][break]

He tiredly shrugs when he's asked, "So kinda like when dad would 'correct me' and I just forgave it because I thought it to be my fault?" he can't help but question clearly not understanding what the other meant. Theo didn't treat him the same way so he can't compare, most of his punishments came from his father and if situations were reversed? He isn't sure how he'd be considering his current fear and distain. [break][break]

With the mention of the books he just simply nods tiredly to try and remember asking his mentor about the rulings for such things. Though honesty he is starting to realize he is hitting his limit, "Sir I really don't mean to overstep, but I don't know how much longer I can keep awake," he doesn't ask a question because he knows his place but he hopes the hint is enough and just let the underboss decide if he would be allowed the sleep or not.

That Cillian's patience persists is a testament to his dealings with far worse.[break][break]

The way Raziel phrases THEO BECKETT's treatment makes Cillian uncomfortable. It's not as if others haven't tried to make him confront his conflicting feelings toward the other... but none of them have succeeded in turning him against his fellow underboss. They'd been through too much together.[break][break]

"It's complicated," is all he says.[break][break]

He's quietly relieved when Raziel expresses his limits. He shakes his head to dismiss the apology.[break][break]

"That's hardly overstepping. I'll let you be, and come by with the books another time."

"Oh... right...." he simply mutters as he is corrected having forgotten that for just a moment as they were talking and seemingly depressed all over again about of the amount of time he has been robbed of. Still a bit on the fence if he should be upset about it as it meant all the time he was dealing with the consequences of fighting his father was gone at least. [break][break]

"If you say so," is all he answers back to that wishing he could understand as he wasn't trying to turn the other against his mentor. Raziel was just trying to understand the situation, how it differed from his own and maybe get some type of insight on how he should be feeling as he has been conflicted about a lot of things. None of which he has really had the opportunity to talk about, nor does he feel like he would get it at this point. [break][break]

He doesn't need to be told twice for that as he nudges the bulbasuar off his lap before he just lets gravity take him and flops into the pillow, eyes already closed as this entire interaction has left him mentally exhausted. "Really missed talkin' to you though, sucks what dad did..." he mutters as his brain starts to quickly drift as he hardly saw his lab brother as a threat to not be okay to sleep around.
