"Can't make every tool work," he comments at the mention of hardly using their Toxtricity, showcasing yet another difference between what he was then vs now. It had taken Razz years to get himself out of the habit of treating pokemon as tools and objects and to stop referring to them as 'it.' Yet with the regression all that work had gone down the drain. Least his fascination with pokemon were still there. [break][break]

He nods when the other talks about changing a pokemon's type and he ponders about it before his eyes light up, "So I could essentially make it so one of my pokemon loses their weaknesses by making it another type? That's awesome!" he exclaims as with his having been a poison trainer ground and psychic pokemon were always a problem but if he could just change their type? It didn't limit them to what they could do. He nods about trying it out before he does as told, returning the bulbasaur to the ball, watching it in awe as the ball seemed to crystalize in his hand before he throws it out again. [break][break]

With a shimmer the toxic chain pokemon is no longer poison but a fire type as it's bulb as crystalized and shimmers red and honestly he is just amazed but it. "So now it has all the characteristics of a fire type?" he questions, honestly amazed, "But can it actually use fire moves now?"

He didn't like the way Raziel had said tool, but he skips over it. It's not strange for someone in their line of work, it's a personal vindication. Instead, he fixates on the tera orb glowing in their hand, and the prismatic shimmer of Bulbasaur.[break][break]

"That's the principle of it, yes." Adrian awaits the demonstration, curious to see if it'd work. When it does, it's obvious which type Bulbasaur had an affinity for—though how it acquired this nature was a mystery.[break][break]

"It's a fire type, at least defensively," he relented. There was more to the augmentation—it wasn't something he could teach—but naturally Raziel followed up with the next question.[break][break]

What did he really know? He wracked his brain anyway, clawing for scraps of knowledge...[break][break]

"Hmm... I don't think it can learn any fire move, but..." Alright, Adrian relented, grabbing at his cellular device and tapping away for educational purposes. Eventually he settled on a familiar page, and began reading with a slight murmur, enough for Raziel to get a hint before he'd even spoken the words aloud.[break][break]

"Oh okay, so yeah—terastallized pokemon can use a move called... TERA BLAST." Adrian's face went sour with disapproval. How creative of them...[break][break]

He looks up to Raziel questioningly.[break][break]

"You gonna give it a go?"[break][break]

Copperajah was right there, a perfect target.[break]

He looks to Adrian as the other has now become a fun source of information, and found it fun to learn from him. The experience was different than what he was used to, which was honestly for the better. He feel like if he was learning all this in old Rocket it would've ended up with his pokemon getting thrashed as a demonstration for the mega before going forward. Yet here the other was just offering for his pokemon to be a target, seeming to trust the thing to just survive the hit. [break][break]

Raziel looks to Adrian then to his pokemon, and then back to the older man, "Are you sure?" he can't help but question, hesitant about it. Had this been back in Kanto he wouldn't have hesitated, and honestly now his curiosity for it seemed to overcome any concern he thought he had for the Copperajah. Yet something holds him back yet his bulbasuar seems ready to try it out, but seeing who it was previously trained by it knows better than to just attack with no order. [break][break]

He would only give the order if the other allowed it.

"Raj is a tank, you won't take him down easy," Adrian affirmed. Copperajah didn't seem overly enthusiastic, but it kept up its stoics for his sake.[break][break]

He might've been offended, if he wasn't reading into the gentle nature of their apprehension.[break][break]

Still, this was a training exercise. Time was finite.[break][break]

"If you're not going to attack, then I will:" Adrian waved an arm, a broad stroke that immediately grabbed Copperajah's attention, causing its body to go rigid with anticipation.[break][break]

All he had to do was declare an attack...[break][break]

Adrian's ruse was obviously that: A bluff.[break][break]

But he just might have to follow through to save face, if Raziel hesitated. "COPPERAJAH—!"[break][break]

That ought to force a reaction...[break]

Red eyes look hesitantly at Adrian for a moment before he gives the same look to the Copperajah. One brow furrows in uncertainty watching it. This shouldn't be hard, he has done this lesson a million times before with Beckett so why was he hesitating now? The Bulbasaur looks him a look that seems to show his own annoyance at his lack of resolve. Great now his own pokemon was judging him. Its only at the threat that Raziel finally finds himself giving the order. [break][break]

The young man giving a whistle to attack, this one a more general one rather than with a specific move as he was not sure what whistle was even associated with this TERRA BLAST. From is bulb energy gathers in a similar fashion to a solar beam before a beam shoots out engulfed by fire as it shoots at the mega pokemon. Both pokemon and trainer curious to see the damage it was capable of, Raziel might not have any training with it, but the Bulbasaur was trained by one of the Rocket's underbosses before given to him.

"...How long did you say you had that Bulbasaur again?" Copperajah looked to be reeling, which he would've expected taking a hit like that in a real battle, against a pokemon with some mettle. Not a Bulbasaur, though...[break][break]

Still, Copperajah put on a brave face—retaliatory, even. It wasn't for a moment that Adrian realized it was about to attack them that he raised his hands emphatically: "No, no, it's okay—"[break][break]

Clearly Copperajah hadn't thought so, but it simmers down at its trainer's behest, nursing the tarnished metal—a scorched black smudge against its otherwise pristine body.[break][break]

"We'll get you checked out later, Raj," he suggested, before withdrawing Copperajah as it regressed into its original form. Adrian decided to give Raziel a thumbs up as a sort of congratulations.[break][break]

"So that was terrastalizing. Hmm..."[break][break]

His eyes gloss over, drifting in thought.[break][break]

"Alright, what else did you wanna try?"[break][break]

He would leave something for a rainy day—but they still had some options and time to spare.[break]

"A little less than a week," he answers back without missing a beat, though he is sure the other is talking about the seed pokemon's strength. "But it was trained by Theo first, pretty sure it was going to be his before he gifted it to me," he offers an explanation as to the small pokemon's power as he goes to his bulbasuar to pet to show it how great a job it did. It wasn't something he usually did, yet something about it felt natural. It was a weird feeling really. [break][break]

It's only when the other was trying to call of his pokemon did he notice it wanting to fight back. Raziel readying himself the same as his partner pokemon, though it seems Adrian is able to calm down his pokemon enough to revert it back to normal. "Huh so that form can't stay? Does it have a time limit of sorts?" he can't help but question before shaking his head at the question. [break][break]

"Well I don't know what the broach is and the other two things I can't use without a 'bond' with a pokemon, but still getting the chance to see it was good enough for now until I can figure out the whole 'bond' thing maybe another time when I figure it out and get a mega stone of my own we can try this out again?"
