It is clear over time that this is no human, but a Pokemon. However, you play along, enjoying your time with this friendly creature.[break][break]

Eventually, the Pokemon brings you to the outskirts of the festival to offer gratitude before its departure. But the good times do not last. Its crystal mask begins to crack as a TOXIC CHAIN bursts from inside it. As the scene begins to change, it swings its IVY CUDGEL at you.

There is confusion on the researcher's face, but it drops soon as he simply shrugs and nods in turn, not minding what strange company they may or may not have, as long as he doesn't have to run the heck out of here again. "Gotchu, gotchu," Xuying hums instead, seeing that the mysterious Pokémon is tagging along their little journey through the festival now.[break]

It feels like a much-needed break from the other two scenarios they experienced and he feels quite lucky that there isn't some weird morphing of the scenario, either - it stays peaceful for the following moments, almost too good to be true. Certainly too good to last forever. Even as this is a mere simulation and nothing else, a part of him does feel a little sad about having to part from this place, but there is also no regret in going when the time calls for it. "Thanks for your time, buddy," he fistbumps the Pokémon again before turning to Josh, "and thanks for tagging along, too. It's been one heck of a time!"[break]

And thusly, as Toxic Chains are breaking out, he, too, leaves the simulation, though the image of the Toxic Chain also lingers on his mind ...

From his experiences with Andrea, Josh expected the Ogerpon to be playful and cheerful, returning the love with love of its own for them both. "I know this Pokémon outside the simulation, too. Her name is Ogerpon, and she's a sweetie. You should meet her sometime! She's in Andrea Vaneau's care."

While the ogress was a friendly one for a time, once they had reached the outskirts of the festival grounds, a TOXIC CHAIN had shattered the mask, encircling the now tantrum-filled grass-type. Just as the young man was about to wave goodbye, the incensed Ogerpon walloped Josh's midsection with her IVY CUDGEL. As a fountain of blood erupted from his body, the Gym Leader's vision turned to static, both Josh and Xuying waking up in the League's simulation pods.
