Josh would dismount from his Manectric, withdrawing him when they reached the front doors. He would only let the Pokémon out of his Poké Ball if Yuina's office space was large, like his. If it was a more normal-sized office space, he would keep the large Manectric within.

The museum itself seemed eerie after hours. It was hard to put his finger on, but it looked a lot more foreboding in the low light. Once he was seated, with or without Saber at his size, he would fidget with the inert RAINBOW FEATHER before clearing his throat. "That Arcanine we ran into wasn't the only such Pokémon that was gigantic and glowed bright yellow. Thomas Benoit and I ran into a Basculegion, and an older female and I, her name's Lash, ran into a Scyther with similar yellow glows and strength. I've been hearing more reports of them showing up, too. I won't expose you as a source; I just want to know what they are, so we can, as Rangers, have an idea how to handle them. The Scyther and Basculegion were much more aggressive than the Arcanine; they attacked us unprovoked. Please. Anything will help."

The young man frowned in disappointment, only somewhat distracted by the display pieces that served as evidence of the curator's hard work. He made no attempt to read any of the scripts, even the ones in common language. With all of her unusual Pokémon and her investment in Pokémon history, Josh thought she would be the key to getting the answers he wanted about the glowing Pokémon.

"Even hearing your theories would help," the Gym Leader insisted. If there was room in her office, Josh would let his Manectric out of his Poké Ball, not in an effort to pressure Yuina, but to give him a friend to cuddle and pet. He, too, was growing weary of not having any answers, and he felt it was only a matter of time before something truly disastrous happened. "As a prominent Ranger, I've received other reports of these yellow Pokémon. Even if it's just a theory, anything will help. It's only a matter of time before one pops up too close to a city." Mauville already had a huge target on her head due to her geographical position in the region. She didn't need another attacker threatening to devour her.

Illumina Pokémon were what first came to Josh's mind, too. He possessed many Illumina Pokémon in the past, and owned two Pyroar now. She was right; they had no Infinity Ennergy signature. But how could she pick up on that so quickly in the heat of battle? Without wearing his Sygna Suit, Josh wasn't sensitive to Infinity Energy. It brought up another question, but one he would wait to ask until Yuina was done speaking. "So all territorial, but no pattern to their appearance," Josh nodded. "And they leave no trail when they vanish..." The Champion was too busy fleeing them to notice. "Was this the first time you've seen them anywhere? You're out in the field a lot more than I am, Yuina. Especially since my Gym keeps me from going too much Ranger work when the weather's really nice."

The question burned brightly in his mind. Why could Yuina detect Infinity Energy so easily? Josh needed to be wearing his Sygna Suit to be sensitive to it; with his Raikou being composed of SACRED ASH, there wasn't even an Infinity Energy signature from Swift. "Do you routinely wear a Sygna Suit, Yuina?" Josh asked. Come to think of it, he hadn't worn his in a while, had he?

So it was truly a one-off phenomenon, the appearance of these apex Pokémon. They were dangerous, both in their sheer strength and speed exceeding their more common kind, and in that little was known about them. "Not until we can find and study more of them. If you need a hand with it, especially while my Gym's slow in the winter, I can help," Josh offered. He, too, was interested in the Noble Pokémon... especially befriending one. It would be a wonderful asset in the war, as well as an amazing partner outside the war. It made him want to track down the Arcanine against Yuina's judgment and become its friend.

Though Josh routinely used his suit in combat, he also used his during Ranger work. It was part of the reason he owned eleven Pyroar, all of which could sync with him. Their myriad of applications both in and out of combat was part of what made the suits so wondrous to him. "I asked because of that Distortion we got trapped in the other day. I've been in many, many Space-Time Distortions before, but nothing like that one."

What a shame. If they disappeared in close proximity, there would be no way to encapsulate one in a Poké Ball. "That's too bad," Josh exhaled. "Being able to catch one would help us understand them a lot. But based on what you've said about them, it sounds like that might not be possible." About as possible as catching a legendary Pokémon in one. Most of the ones Josh knew didn't stay in Poké Balls; their wielders had other means to call upon them. Swift was no exception; while not a Pokémon, given Raikou's nature, it wouldn't surprise him if he could call upon a living one in the same manner.

Memories of going to the alternate Hoenn with Andrea Vaneau flooded back into Josh's mind. As wondrous as that world was, a world where only legendary species survived, its very nature was terrifying. "Yes," Josh answered. "Twice. He's from another Hoenn. A Hoenn where everyone reaches their full potential. A Hoenn where Pokémon we would consider legendary are common as Pidgey, and other Pokémon don't exist. The atmosphere there is so toxic that you need a Sygna Suit or to be an Avatar to survive long. As you can imagine, it's a lot more common there than here."

The two would have almost no hope of studying it; without the ability to travel the planes, getting there was but a chance moment, and Poké Balls from the standard Hoenn failed to work on the Pokémon there. He had tried to capture a wild Raikou and a wild Latios while he was there, and the objects phased through through them. "It's a place I'd love to be able to visit, but I wouldn't want to live in a world where the only Pokémon are demigods."

Josh had known from his time in the Cloud that there was not just their Hoenn, but many other Hoenns. The one his doppel was from was simply one of many. A particularly scary one, where trainers would engage in the equivalent of kaiju battles by virtue of only legendary species existing, but an intriguing one, nonetheless. He wondered how Eva Morales would feel were they both to go there and capture two Rayquaza. The idea of an interstellar race on the emerald serpents was one he could not get out of his head, tuning Yuina out subconsciously. If Swift were outside of the RAINBOW FEATHER, his thunderous growling would have snapped Josh out of it.

The daydreaming Champion shook his head. "Sorry, come again?" he asked. Were Yuina to repeat, he would respond in earnest. "Me too. The region's already a mess with the legendary Pokémon already here. I don't think there would be a Hoenn left to defend if everyone had one, let alone a full belt of them." He had a full belt of paradoxes at his beck and call, giving him staggering power in battle. "And of course, I'm going to continue to chase them for unusually large Pokémon."

A lightbulb went off in his head. "And speaking of time... I've seen you've befriended a mischievous little time goddess," he casually brought up.
