Lucas places a collar holding the live recording device around the lycanroc's neck. After checking it was tight he sends the pokemon through the entrance the previous search party made in the rubble. [break][break]

Lycanroc leads the party of pokemon into the tunnel. It doesn't take long for the light from outside to be little more than a memory. When it does a flashlight hanging from the wolf pokemon's collar lights the party's path. Like a lighthouse during a storm lycanroc illuminates the path to safety.

taiyou was told to help out on the job and that was what it was going to do in some shape or form. rock and ground types were recommended and while it did fill one bit of that criteria using its psychic abilities to clear the rubble out of the team's way was also helpful. why use brute strength of the earth when strength of the mind was much more resourceful? even when it wasn't using its mind to help the team it was busy lighting they way with its morning sun keeping itself reinvigorated and giving everyone a nice dose of sunlight to cure whatever cave mental problems being underground so much would cause.

It was not Kjoll's most favorite idea, leaving Kaida in this dusty place with nothing to block the wind, but she was having none of it...good girl. A camera was firmly tied about his horn, and multiple lights dangled from around his neck, light as a feather to him. Seemed Kaida was taking the idea of Lucas and his Lycanroc. Wizened eyes gazed fondly at the woman, still thought of as a girl in the Onix's matured mind, before he turned and, making room for small ones, delved in.

One would think an Onix would demolish the ruins with a simple flick of its tail, but not so. Traversing the underground meant they had to be careful not to collapse soil where it shouldn't collapse, to not crash into dangerous terrain, and to not harm other Pokemon.

Thus, even when Kjoll had to burrow through obstructions, used Curse to take a hit for his fellow little ones, or even create a new tunnel to rejoin the pack, he did so with almost unervingly little noise and alarming precision.

What were they searching for? The soil tasted charged.

As the group ventures deeper into the tunnel, lanterns held by Lycanroc and Onix illuminate a pile of glittering golden rock. The soft rumble of her breath is the only indication that this is, in fact, a slumbering Pokemon... until it slowly uncurls and lifts its massive head. When he'd seen the ad looking for Pokemon to help uncover the ruins, Gavin had made a careful choice in sending his Steelix: she was at home beneath the earth.[break][break]

In spite of her size, towering over miners and Pokemon alike, the golden serpent moves with a surprising grace. She'd dug through the rubble of collapsed tunnels with her metal maw, depositing chunks of rock and ruin into neat piles. In areas where the stability of the tunnels could be called into question, she'd helped prevent rock slides with her affinity for the earth. [break][break]

Now, she burrows carefully through a side-tunnel created by an Onix before her, pulling her glittering tail aside to let others pass.

Groove knew precisely what they were doing and what his role was here. He was the support, or rather, the leader of the operation in his own mind. Incredibly intelligent, he managed to acquire a hard hat and a safety vest around his body. No reason to forgo safety when a dangerous mining operation was going on. A powerful pokemon's ruins were around here and it was important to figure things out. After all, he was rather curious himself.

Fan in one hand and a flashlight in the other, the Oranguru slowly walked down the caves that were being dug out by a few friendly pokemon. With a large majority of the diggers apparently being slow Pokemon, an idea rather easily came to him. Suddenly pausing and waving his fan, the psychic energy would seem to fill up the cave as he used Trick Room. Slower pokemon were now fast, faster pokemon were now slower. With a soft chuckle to himself, Groove suddenly instinctively was able to move faster down the caves, keeping up with the rest of the pack.

[attr="class","athread"]Too much walking, not enough digging. That was to say, no amount of excavation would be enough for an Excadrill promised a subterranean adventure. He managed to contain himself until the rock snakes made the beginnings of a tunnel. The mole made his way to the front of the party, slapped his claws together and gave the earth ahead a cocky smirk. As he straightened his body, transforming into a living tool, Quake seemed set to show the pack why he’d been deemed the Drill King.

At least, that was the plan. In two seconds, he’d carved through a dozen feet of soil, but before he could reach his stride, the Trick Room brought his fun to an abrupt end. They were fortunate that his trog of a u-turn didn’t trigger a cave-in, or perhaps he’d done enough digging to know how to stay safe. When he surfaced, it was with a very unamused glare, his eyes searching for whoever had decided to mess with his job.

all the delphox knows is battles and other similar stuff. mining is not in its repertoire of skills, but somehow, it's in his job description now. as a fire-type, it doesn't have any business with the ground at all. he starts to ponder about his reason why he was brought in with them.

he remembers being called in for the sole reason of having magic room. he supposed he'd do that.

the area starts to illuminate under the effects of magic room. artificial objects start to blink and temporarily shut down within the area. he replaces the lights with his own mystical fire.

The Elgyem is fascinated by the ruins as it stares at the strange hieroglyphics. Rubble and dirt are easily cleared away by the larger pokemon, leaving only the strange ancient devices and writings on the wall. It eyes Delphox carefully, watching it set up magic room. For a moment the devices glimmer only to shut down momentarily. Are they to old to function? The pokemon is left wondering as it seems caught up by the strange devices that momentarily powered up.

As the work winds down to an end, it's left to the Elgyem to complete the final task. Lifting its arms to the side, it uses its psychic energy to conjure up a Wonder Room. Psychic energy fills the ancient chamber once again and the artificial objects glimmer with life once more.

somewhere in the temple, several runes catch aglow and the rest of the riddle reveals itself to an audience of no one. [break][break]

the entire temple rumbles as the main chamber to regirock's tomb opens up. inside is a much smaller regirock than the one found when the ruins first opened. it stands at an unimpressive eight feet tall but the boulders revolving around it dwarf the golem in size and mass. ANCIENT POWER turns the temple's very structure into a constellation of threats and it looks to bury them all underneath a tidal wave of boulders the size of small buildings. [break][break]

the thunderous clamor of the approaching boulders shake the entire cavern as they roll down the tunnels. those who don't get out of the way and escape may find themselves splattered across the walls as a new generation of hieroglyphics. the reports from the excavation of the previous regirock raid details how it had squashed numerous researchers and blown several pokemon into oblivion. with the oncoming threat, those rumors look to be true! the cave trembled with the appearance of the golem. this surely wasn't in the job description and taiyou wasn't one for extra work with no pay. still the words of his trainer echoed through his earthly body. protect anyone and everyone. however protecting itself seemed like a good idea as well and as the rocks began to gather it called on cosmic power to surround itself in a blue aura as it felt its body get heavier but also stronger and more than able to withstand such an attack. well that was the hope anyway.

"Keep on going buddy, you got this." Lucas cheers the lycanroc on through the tiny speaker on its collar. It takes a hesitant step forward. "That's a good boy, go on Eros." Moving as fast as it could given the room affects it deeper into the ruins. Lucas watches the progress on a computer screen. There wasn't a shred of guilt in him as he coerced the pokemon towards its likely death. [break][break]

Sacrifices had to be made for the greater good.[break][break]

"Come on boy, you got this. Straight ahead buddy." He directs the lycanroc past the barriers that had impeded his progress in the cave. Rocks float around it as a vain form of protection[break][break]

Kjoll senses the change even before the golem appears and, as one of the Pokemon leading the party, his jaws grind at the appearance of danger. He rears and suddenly whips his head around at the other Pokemon, bellowing. His roar is a signal of danger and an invitation. For all those that feel too slow to dodge, grab on!

An arcane energy suddenly stirs in the Onix, who lowers to the ground in preparation as the boulders roll ever closer. He had sensed the change in his speed and instinctively knew to defend himself. Kaida would want him to press in, when had a territorial idiot kept them from what they wanted? His rocks sharpened and hardened, and he launched forward as soon as the Curse was complete.

With whoever, if any, took his offer, the rest would see an Onix leap forward with terrifying speed. Around the rocks, through loose soil, towards the danger. An old soul in a young body ran towards the threat.

Suddenly, his flashlight stopped working. He should have expected this, given the room moves now in effect as they were supposed to use. However, what he was not prepared for was the sudden introduction of the Regirock itself. The intimidating rock-like pokemon with boulders swirling around them. AS the ground shook, Groove knew better than to waste any time. Using Future Sight, he'd attempt to foresee the future and step over towards where no boulders would be flung in his direction. Of course, it was easier to predict the future when it wasn't an immediately life-threatening encounter.

There was no way he was going to run away, not when he could be credited with a great discovery. He would be given credit. He would make sure of that. However, for now, he needed to ensure his own survival, which also meant protecting the life of the others in his immediate vicinity and then figuring out what was going on. Upon noticing Kjoll the Onix cry out as a call to help, he was smart enough to recognize the move Curse just performed. As he ran towards the rock snake, Groove would wave his fan and Instruct Kjoll to use it once more, to increase their own defenses even higher.

As soon as they possibly could, the Oranguru would attempt to press up close against the Onix in case any more boulders came through as it suddenly reached out mentally, attempting to open a Telepathic communication with the strange rock-pokemon that had attacked them, a simple message for peace and understanding.

Notes: Staying! Groove uses Future Sight to attempt to dodge the boulders! Instruct on Kjoll, telling them to use Curse once again, and attempted to telepathically contact the Regirock.

Jirou’s body trembles as it can feel the psychic energy wash over the ancient temple. The ground begins to shake violently with pebbles and sand chipping away from the ceiling. The small Elgyem turns to see the Regirock conjure massive boulders to crush them all beneath its rocky might.

The others seem to scatter, and the psychic pokemon, unsure what to do, can only bolster its defenses with Calm Mind. Just as its own psychic energy shields itself, it sees the massive Steelix burrow into the ground. Seeing an opportunity arising, the cerebral pokemon is quick to dive, following the steel pokemon in hopes of reaching its own safety.
