a new day has dawned and it meant another day for the rehabilitation of the spire. the project was held every once in a while and pokemon were employed to make things go easier.

with rope held between his teeth, the vaporeon doggy paddles across the ocean waters to ferry construction materials from one sootopolis island to another. buoyancy helps the vaporeon carry heavy load, the waters of sootopolis proving to make work easier for the pokemon as opposed to using brute strength to carry them over land.

another bright side of this was that the instructions were much easier to follow than battles.

being one of the smaller pokemon hired for the job had its advantages, one of which is having the lighter load. as soon as he reaches land, the vaporeon leaves the materials to one of the people responsible for repairing the tower and dives back to the sea for another round of fetch.

So there was a maintenance effort going down in Sootopolis, and they needed Water-type Pokémon to get the job done. This was fine with Alexei, considering he had to get Hera’s rage tackled and controlled.[break][break]

Of course, he had to give the Gyarados a stern talking-to before dropping her off for the day in Sootopolis! After he had reminded her not to mess around and fuck up the place (and with the promise he would be back once the job was done) he flew back to Fortree, leaving the serpentine dual-type in the water.[break][break]

Normally, she was prone to snapping and attacking, but after the stern talking-down she had received from her owner, the Gyarados was unusually meek and quiet as she allowed the construction workers to get her hooked up to a rig that would haul large bits of debris away, and to return when she was done.[break][break]

She could do this, right?[break][break]

Sighing, the Gyarados let the unfamiliar humans swarm all over her, and eventually, she was set to work pulling away the debris and bringing back the empty ‘barge’ where all the rubble was to be deposited for her to haul out.[break][break]

The Kingdra had been assigned the duty of helping deliver the materials with kyle lopez's Vaporeon. Without the use of real appendages, she was really only good for pulling buoyant supplies between areas by water. It was easy, with simple instructions. [break][break]

It also allowed her a welcome distraction from her catty, territorial tendencies. The use of a bridle and rope attached to a heavy load really stopped her from wasting energy snapping at the passersby. Perhaps Stormy had meant for this to happen as a way to teach Kingdra how to not be a raging bitch.[break][break]

So far so good.[break][break]

With her help, it seemed that construction was well on its way. Every time she brought new supplies to the shore, workers reached down to unhook and lift it out of the water, only to send her back to get more. Turns out she was pretty good at being a packmule.

This situation was definitely a new experience for the Samurott. It had an elusive personality and wasn't very used to being in such close proximity to this many Pokemon, much less, humans. It wasn't something he hated though. Being paired with Nova let it discover new areas it would have never been able to view stuck around its familiar water routes. The red-haired girl was kind enough and fed him when he was hungry. She provided him with all that he needed. [break][break]

With its large and somewhat spiny body, Samurott helped lug equipment two and fro from the shore where the workers were renovating. It was the seal-Pokemon's luck that it was also bipedal; when he washed ashore, he could haul the equipment even further onto the sand to aid the construction workers.[break][break]

After a particularly large load, Samurott returned to the water with a huff, embracing the inviting feeling of the cool water. He began to swim back to retrieve more tools for the workers. Steely eyes gazed at the Vaporeon, Kingdra, and Gyarados momentarily before he continued on his path.

his bond with his trainer was still quite weak, considering they met not too long ago. nothing promised the rocket member that the new addition to her team would actually decide to return from this mission. perhaps it'd prefer to sink into the bottom of a lake, where it'll await for innocent victims to haunt. nevertheless, at the moment, he seemed to agree with what the woman had sent him here for.

although he was indeed a ghost-type and carrying things on its head seemed quite hard to manage-- the young pokemon was also capable of manipulating the water itself to allow easy transportation of certain materials that wouldn't be ruined by the water.

it turns out, he is quite the lazy worker. whereas some pokemons manage to complete two runs in a short time frame, he barely finishes the first. the frillish clearly didn't care to impress anyone or to help more than it had to.

Bubbles was not the most physically-oriented pokemon. Carrying the smaller objects onto the rafts was easier, but the largest packages were what was really the most important. Moving over tools was good, but the building materials to actually repair the tower was needed as well. Bubbles seemed to sit down for a few moments, visibly appearing like they were taking a break for a few moments as they meditated.

Suddenly using Extrasensory, the Greninja's eyes would turn bright gold as a rainbow-like beam fired from their forehead. The workers around stopped and stared as the beam struck a massive pallet of concrete and lifted it up into the air. With incredible focus, she lowered it down onto the raft with nothing more than a gently shudder.

With nary a moment to delay, Bubbles quickly climbed into the water and began to push it along towards the tower itself. She had a job to do and standing around while the construction workers and sailors admired her talents wouldn't get it done.

a few more seconds of furious kicking passed; no distance was crossed. a nearby feraligatr seemed to take pity on him or (more likely) wanted to get the job done sooner rather than, well, never. though the pokemon was careful not to stir the water too violently, lest he got swept away, blue felt the rope get snatched none too gently from his grip.

"hey!" he shouted, jumping to retrieve the rope. the feraligatr overpowered him easily, swimming off with a roll of its eyes and entirely indifferent to blue's protests.
