"THIS TOWER IS BUILT ON A PECULIAR POWER SOURCE," the man says. he speaks calmly, nary a spike or bow to his tone. "IT ALLOWS MY HATTERENE TO GROW TO AN INCREDIBLE SIZE."[break][break][break]

with a breath, the man opens his eyes. he explains the challenge, and allows you all to make the first move.[break][break][break]

the sequence is set. two moves before the dynamax means that the order of when they'll go is crucial. kyle takes the first move.

"magic powder."

he releases his hatterene and faces against the other hatterene. it releases its powder towards the opposing pokemon of the same species and changes its typing to a pure psychic-type.

They had to be quick of their feet for this challenge in particular while also being extremely careful with which moves they use to avoid triggering the transformation of the Hatterene.

June released an Obstagoon, the Pokémon having the right move for this job.

”Use Parting Shot!” June ordered in which the Pokémon complied.

The Obstagoon complied, using PARTING SHOT which would not only lower the Hatterene’s offensive capabilities but switch the Obstagoon out.

Alongside June, Fernando has his newly caught Pangoro join in. To the Pokemon's surprise, the MAGIC BOUNCE reverses the attack, lowering Pangoro's will to fight while the Hatterene has to urge to SWITCH OUT.

That being said, this round goes to Kyle's quick analysis of the setup to ensure they move forward. It's almost as if he knew the challenge beforehand.

ONCE YOU ASCEND THE STAIRS, you find yourselves looking upon an incredible vista of hoennian sea. the roof of the tower is a flat, square-shaped plane, like a ring for martial artists to duel upon. there are no rails or fences for safety; however, several medicham are stationed nearby— presumably, to catch anyone or any pokemon from falling into the sea.[break][break]

"CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING IT THIS FAR!" the tower's master, or at least, one of them, is a grisly man. his bushy hair is a mane across his bearish shoulders. "NOW THIS IS YOUR FINAL TEST."[break][break][break]

he tosses a pokeball to the center of the battlefield. red light unsheathes a powerful looking pokemon in black and white fur. this urshifu is a pokemon you have never seen before, perhaps thanks to the galarian embargo. however, even then, those from galar may find this species to be elusive.[break][break][break]

"DEFEAT MY SINGLE-STRIKE URSHIFU." the man says. "SHOULD YOU MAKE ONE FALSE MOVE, HE WILL STRIKE YOU OFF THE TOWER." his solemn glance softens into a well-humored smile. "BUT OUR MEDICHAM WILL PSYCHICALLY SEIZE THEM BEFORE THEY FALL, OF COURSE." he gestures to his pokemon, "I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED LETTING YOU ALL FACE MY RAPID-STRIKE URSHIFU, BUT SHE'S TUCKERED OUT WITH A NEW LITTER..."[break][break][break]

this was the final boss, or something like that. kyle prepares the only pokemon that suits this kind of setting even though it's not as impressive as his other mons. at least it fits thematically when one considers coming to the final stage of the game with a starter.

"battle routine set."

the mightyena wags its tail as it hears the fernando catch phrase being echoed by his trainer. he doesn't know what it means, but he's playing along. kyle supposed that it's one of the better things his mightyena are good for.

"execute."

from its maw, the mightyena shoots out a hyper beam that strikes against the urshifu.

Without batting an eye, the clones leap up at the same time, throwing numerous WATER SHURIKENS at the opposing Urshifu. It goes without saying that they're meant to catch the opponent should they try to evade Kyle's HYPER BEAM.

the mightyena takes a breather to recover from the hyper beam it threw out, but maybe if they train for moments like this, his pokemon can eventually rapid fire those hyper beams.

"execute again!" kyle tells his mightyena.

as soon as the dark-type regains its stamina from the earlier attack, it charges up one like it soon after. energy accumulates at his mouth until the pokemon can't hold it off anymore.

the hyper beam flies and strikes its target the second time.

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing! They were going to be duking it out with an Urshifu! June had never actually seen one in real life before, this was going to be sick.

Kyle and Fernando had already started their assault and she didn’t want to be left behind so she quickly returned the Pokémon she used on the other floors and then sent out her Duraludon.

”Back up Kyle’s Mightyena! Hit it with a Flash Cannon!” June ordered, pointing a finger towards their Galarian target.

June’s Duraludon then fired a FLASH CANNON in conjunction with Kyle's Mightyena using a hyper beam at the Urshifu.

"goodbye alpha," kyle murmurs as he watches his mightyena get booted out of the tower. a second later, kyle quickly moves on to his next choice. "your turn charlie."

a pokeball is lobbed into the air and releases another mightyena. it's less excited than the first mightyena, but one cannot discern if its calmness or anxiety about being following the previous mightyena's fate.

"hyper beam!"

the attack charges up and it seemed repetitive with how kyle just kept spamming the same move over and over with minimal success. at the very least, they're denting it with their attacks.

the blast of energy flies across the room until it hits the urshifu.

Now the Pokémon weren’t actually getting flung to their deaths but still Kyle took his Pokémon being knocked off surprisingly well, dude didn’t even flinch.

June sure wished that when the time came she could keep that calm composure. And well if he was going to keep shooting beams then so would she!

”Fire off another one, Brick.” And again the steel dragon charged up energy and fired off a FLASH CANNON at the Urshifu.

the mightyena sweats, knowing that the only time it gets to rest was when it gets kicked off from the tower or if it finally takes the urshifu down. unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the pokemon before them will fall soon.

the blast of energy flies from the mightyena across the room until it hits the urshifu once more.
