"I swear you're all gonna make be become a hermit again," Razz grumbled to his Makuhita who was hoping left and right while his trainer was squatted down with an aching body. Part of him considering resting for a month after this as it was pushing both this body and his mental fortitude having to interact with so many people. Dijon pushed him though as the little fighting pokemon was pumping his fist to encourage his trainer to keep on going. Especially since with the way this team he was put with was it seemed like they would need to lead first. Razz took another look at his team as he got up, recognizing Skyler easily, a random stranger, then finally the crazy man from awhile back but that was a different issue that he really didn't feel like dealing with now. "Alright buddy lets go with the Belly Drum," he commanded as Dijon pounded his belly to raise his strength, pausing where he was at to allow the others to follow suit before both pokemon and trainer took off. First course the forest of Stone pillars to smash through.

Where Razz is a stranger to some members of their team, Gavin recognizes all three. Captain Dross, with whom he'd traveled during an underwater expedition. Kyle Lopez, a member of the Elite Four he'd assisted in taking out one of the Rocket Remnants. Razz, Gavin recalls, was a Ranger.[break][break]

He is cordial to the latter two, greeting them with a polite nod, and openly warm with Skyler.[break][break]

"Good to see you again, Dross. I see your expeditions haven't kept you from enjoying the competition."[break][break]

As discussed, he sends out his Metagross and instructs the hovering dual-type to PSYCH UP. Where Makuhita had to push its limits to boost its attack, the psychic Pokemon merely meditates upon the changes.[break][break]

As she looks around at the members of her team, Skyler realizes that she knows all of them. There's Razz, the ranger she's shared a few missions with; Kyle, her renfaire buddy and axe-throwing partner-in-crime; and Dr. Cavalli, the scientist she's met on one of her underwater expeditions.

Speaking of.

"Dr. Cavalli." The corner of her lips quirks up as she gives him a nod. "I see your research hasn't stopped you either. Good luck!"

Skyler stretches her muscles, readying herself for the challenge ahead of them. By her side is a Slowbro, its cute pink face completely oblivious to whatever is happening. She hopes the pokémon is at least somewhat aware of what it has to do, although she has her doubts...

According to plan, as soon as Razz's Makuhita starts to ready himself, the Slowbro turns its attention to it and seems to focus intensely. Skyler swears that, for a moment, there's a slight pink glow around the pokémon as it PSYCHs itself UP.

he gives a nod to patrick, whose name takes him a long time to recall that his greeting with him ends up being too curt. "good luck," he cheekily tells skyler, considering her feats on those ren-faire games they had tried.

he turns to the only person he doesn't recognize, waiting for him to catch his gaze before he casts him a smile. "i'm kyle, by the way. nice to meet you," he introduces before he heads to watch his pokemon do the course.

his smeargle psychs up after everyone else does their thing. there's an attempt to roar from the smeargle, but it looks so pitiful considering its size and build that kyle would consider it cute.

"Uhh Razz, nice meeting too," he attempted to reply Kyle easily noting how messed up that came out, but sadly it was already said so nothing that could be done about it. It was the sound of the bang that thankfully saved him from saving to talk more as he followed Dijon who did his little wattle run before calling back to his trainer pointing up. [break][break]

Okay similar tactic to last time Razz figured as the Makuhita jumped up Razz picking him up from behind before tossing the fighting type higher up so it was near the top of the stone pillars. With it's gloved hands he grabbed onto one of the pillars and begun to spin as it if were to use Seismic Toss as it used the pillar to smash through others to help clear the way. Dijon cheering at his work as he landed

Metagross is one of the newest additions to Gavin's roster; he's disappointed by its early performance, frowning as the dual-type fails to break as many targets as the others.[break][break]

"You can do better," he chides.[break][break]

Metagross shows little reaction to his scolding, but Gavin notes the way it uses its MIRACLE EYE to take better aim. Hopefully, it would be enough to make up for its poor performance in the early game. He wanted to top those charts.[break][break]

Skyler lets out a bark of laughter at Kyle's cheeky good luck. Given their past interactions, maybe Skyler should really heed his words, but she knows she won't.

When the challenge starts, Skyler's doing her best to convince the Slowbro to get to the next obstacle. Much to her surprise, when the pokémon decides to start moving, he's actually quite fast. Skyler pumps her fists in the air in victory and follows him, watching the karate board loom closer.

Slowbro seems to glow a pink-ish hue, but Skyler doesn't look in his direction before delivering a kick to the wooden boards in front of her with a shouted 'ahya!'. Good thing she'd started training some of these moves with noah faber before taking on this course.

The boards break into pieces and Skyler's moving on to the next obstacle, a totally oblivious-looking Slowbro at her heels.

his smeargle doesn't actually have any experience doing anything useful until now. it's movements are sloppy, but that doesn't matter when you have the power strong enough to break boards easily.

the smeargle twirls its tail as it runs through one of the obstacles it needs to clear. it pounces at it, hitting it multiple times with repetitive flicks of its tail with beat up.

"good, good," kyle praises, watching his pokemon get on with the course easily.

With one obstacle over and done with it was time for the next, and it looks like after the annoying forest of stone they had something simpler for the next. In front of them were planks of wood in the way, "You got this?" Razz questioned to Dijon almost looked offended, but it was enough to put an extra oomph in his step as he used Arm Thrust to break threw them like paper. [break][break]

Gavin's Metagross hums with PSYCHIC energy as it prepares to burst down an array of targets. It's both intimidating and reassuring, standing so close to the metallic creature as it stores its power.[break][break]

There's no need for Gavin to get involved with the dual-type pulling the weight for him, so Gavin takes the opportunity to observe the progress of his teammates. The ranger seems to be faring the best out of the four of them; the Rocket shoots him a thumbs up.[break][break]

Turning back to his Pokemon, a blast of energy roars from it and shatters the barriers in front of them.[break][break]

With the first obstacle cleared, it is time for the next one. Skyler wipes her forehead of any gathering sweat and moves forward with Slowbro, dread rising in her at the appearance of a series of rock pillars that she'll have to destroy in order to get past. The wood planks had been simple enough, but unless she wants to break a leg, she'll have to leave this one to the pink pokémon by her side.

"You ready, bro?"

There's no answer, exactly. The Slowbro tilts its head to the side in a, Skyler has to admit, cute way. But that's it. That is all. She has to wait for the best. Nothing more she can do now.

From the corner of her eyes, she sees Razz just plough ahead with his Makuhita and she lets out a 'woop!' of joy at his success. "Doing great, Razz!" She calls out.

She is so distracted with her fellow teammates that she doesn't notice the Slowbro using a few localized jets of water to break through the stone obstacles until most of them are gone. Huh. It had understood her.

with one part of the course done, kyle guides his smeargle to another side of the playing area where there would be more targets for them to be break.

planks of wood were lined up for them to demolish. his smeargle has done this task multiple times within the myriad of runs they have done for this event. kyle does not even need to tell a command for his pokemon to do it.

he beats up each of them, breaking them with ease.

Razz smiled at the results, slightly amused to see his trick had worked Dijon now moving on to Razz's least favorite part of the course the concrete walls. He looked back as he heard his name being called by Skyler feeling a bit embarrassed about it as he didn't have the voice to shout out like she did, but felt weird if he didn't say anything back noting the thumbs of the crazy guy, he should really stop calling him that, he just followed suit giving a thumbs up to both before following Dijon. [break][break]

Again he pounded his belly to pump himself up before he ran up and smashed his little body into the walls like a little wrecking ball, doig what he could to show off his strength. Razz does hoping it wouldn't bite them back.
