With a grunt, Fernando cracks his bruised knuckles as he mentally psyches himself up. His Marill uses BELLY DRUM again, repeating the familiar sound of its tiny arms beating its tummy. This time, Fernando holds the Pokemon in his arms, serving as its legs until they run into something that needs to be destroyed. And when that time comes, he'll use the Pokemon like a battering ram, forcing it through whatever lies in their way.

"yay."

as enthusiastic as the word implies kyle to be, the tone is dead and flat. he is dead from all the sports activities he has done and wants it to get over with as soon as possible. if only he didn't want to be in the leaderboards as well.

he already has been on multiple runs with him through a race course and the attempts to get into the leader boards just hasn't ended yet. this time wasn't different from the rest where his smeargle uses psych up, however.

The young man was screaming at himself for agreeing to do multiple rounds of this. At first he thought it was going to be once, maybe twice but this was pushing it. Even Salem seemed tired after the last round, and he was more of his energetic pokemon. Least he made sure to actually change though as he was sure that neither Dijon or Salem would come out well after three rounds, at at least probably wouldn't preform as well. [break][break]

Though the Silph guy was looking at the leader board and Razz did somewhat find his determination contagious as Salem once again used Psych UP to power on through.

The toughest breakthroughs are always at the end, after the strongest Pokemon spent the rest of the course catching up. By holding his Marill, Fernando saves it the effort, only tossing it forward when they come across a hay bale.

With his hands throbbing from repeated attempts at breaking boards, Gavin resorts to different strategies. He rams his shoulder into a weaker obstacle and brute-forces his way through it, envious of the ease in which his Metagross crumbles a far tougher target beneath its bulk. Every little bit counted, otherwise he'd have long since given up trying to help his Pokemon.

kyle is too tired to do fernando's 'battle routine set, execute' thing that the council member gets a pass from it for today. he wishes so bad he can psych up with his smeargle and get its enthusiasm.

the way it breaks through each obstacle with beat up is so mesmerizing that kyle can probably just watch it do its thing. it was then that he decides to use that as an excuse if someone else catches him slacking.

"Just flick em," the ranger ordered with Salem on his shoulder now having done this once the cat was more familiar with this now. So when the wooden boards came up to save both their strength the Meowstic just used Psychic to flick the boards away with ease. Which Razz was more than thankful for as his arms were killing him. Honestly he never wanted to lift another finger after this was done.

Bruises and welts become painful the more they expose themselves. At least when they're done they'll have calluses to protect themselves. That or they'll have to get matching manicures.

It works. The board cracks and gives way under the force, and Gavin's left with two sore shoulders. He'd been shot with a harpoon through the other one, so it was off the table as an option. No amount of grit and determination would be worth the excruciating pain of jostling that wound. His Metagross picks up the slack as Gavin recovers.

there's no update this time, and kyle brings it up to himself to ask everyone else in his group. "are we winning yet?"

regardless of the answer, the smeargle continues to do its work of beating up the obstacles laid on their path. there's no end goal besides finishing everything, so kyle doesn't have much instructions to give it.

Razz was first to answer in a weak tone clearly wearing down before his Meowstic spoke up with much more energy and a much more uplifting spirit than his trainer to try and encourage the others to keep on fighting and push through. Well at least one of them had energy, most likely thanks to him switching out rather than doing 3 rounds on his own so he seemed to be doing well with the next obstacle.
