"Not an 'el classico' then? No worries! Maybe you're more of a 'Passho Pluser'," Zac said, nodding as if that was a normal thing to say to a person. "We've got a few 'Kyle Krushers' too." Zac loved all the flavors equally, as if they were his children. 

Meanwhile, Rotom's UPROAR subsided as it too started to CHARGE up. It thrummed with power, preparing for an all-in attack.

Big Habanero staggered and fell, huge feel flailing in the air as they tumbled to the sand. The twister picked up, pulling the startled bird high into the air. Zac laughed as Doduo's heads spin like a thrown bolas, the bird cycled its feet, trying to find purchase on the shifting winds. They weren't a natural flyer, but with enough AGILITY they may be able to maneuver in the intense updraft.

"Howzit goin ripper?" Zac asked, awesomely, sticking out his hand in greeting as he met his newest friend/opponent. "The name's Zac Ramsay. Nice to meetcha!" Zac had brought his classic team with him. Zappa, Kev, and Busta. Behind Zac the huge Steelix rumbled happily, enjoying the warm sand.

Zac was ready. He'd had lots of practice with eating contests today and was ready to get stuck into it again. Unfortunately, this tent didn't do watermelon or ice cream. Instead, they had a strange specialty. Zac wasn't worried though. Between him and Tapu Bulu they were gonna eat everything.

Warmth spread across Zac's cheek as Kaz laid a kiss on him. "Hey thanks mate!" Zac said, returning the favor. "Mwah! Glad to have you here!" he said, slurring a bit. He put an arm around Kaz for support.

Zac finished his drink, nodding as Kaz told him about the strength of Zapsi. He'd never heard of a sparkling water so potent before. "Puking his guts out, ay? Oh! That reminds me!" Zac said. He disentangled his arm from Kaz and stumbled over to the bathroom, where he was noisily sick.

"Full? Please mate, this is my third eating contest today!" Zac said, not realizing that such close-knit experience was not a boon in this situation. "What about you? Your Urshifu is looking a bit green around the gills!"

"Okay Kibou ready-" Zac stopped. The watermelon in front of Kibou was already gone. The little Dunsparce looked up at him with an unreadable squint. What had happened to the watermelon? Zac frowned, trying to tell if the Dunsparce had already swallowed it whole. He was the right size...

"Nah. I want the world to be a better place. Many of them do too. I think the League is still the way to make it happen, but they've been burned before and want to make an alternative."

Tapu Bulu, annoyed at being shoved into the ball's path, rose from the sand. It stomped over to a grove of coastal pines that were growing along a nearby ridge. With clanging hooves, it tore one of the trees from the copse and stormed back down to the court. 

With a thunderous roar, it swung the tree at the volleyball net, tearing it out of the ground and sending the whole mess tumbling across the sand. 

"Whoa mate! What are you doing?" Zac shouted, just as the referee blasted him with a shrill whistle note. "Ramsay you're disqualified!" said the man, who came stomping only the field through the legs of Zac's Mega Kingler. "You can't smash up the court like that!"
"Sorry ref, yeah, Bulu's not having a great time." Zac said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. He patted the heaving bull on the back. "It's alright mate, just nap it off, yeah?" The legendary liked this suggestion, and galumphed back up the hill in search of a grassy spot.

Zac walked over to Jayden and stuck out a massive have to shake with his new friend. "Sorry about all that. Good game! Thanks for the battle mate!"

"Thanks mate! Not too much foliage around or I'd offer the same," Zac said, as his team thawed. For Zac this whole thing might as well have been a volleyball tournament! He'd been living on the court all day. Just slamming balls up and down.

He'd lost some matches, and almost won others, but at the end of it all Zac was just glad that he'd got to spend some quality time with his friends. He also owed an Outrageous Favor, but that was probably fine. What's the worst she could ask for? 

"Let me know when you're free. I can always find time to go digging around in the dirt."

The return punch crackled with lightning. Sparks jumped to Nyx's metronome, and the Pokemon dropped its weapon, right before the Spheal slapped into its leg. A moment later it was frozen solid.

"Huh, well I guess that's game, set, and match to you mate!" Zac said, casually slipping in some tennis lingo just for Gavin. He walked over and shook the other man's hand, congratulating him on the fierce victory. "That Metagross is a bloody star!"

Science? Biology? Fossils? No wonder they had gotten along. "That's awesome mate! I've been big into evolutionary biology myself."

Rocko was still soaring through the sandy air on Zac's side, and the return from Metagross butted the Spheal spiked straight into him. "Quick mate! Land!" Zac called out, and the Garchomp crashed to earth. It's wings stiffened, crystalized, and finally fell still. 

Zac was down to one Pokemon now. "I'm more into archaeology than paleontology though. Hoenn's got some bloody good ruins scattered around the place. You should come with me some time!" he offered, as Nyx wound up for another METRONOME. Sand whipped at the Pokemon's pink fur, and a wave of cold washed through the sand as a massive ICICLE CRASH speared down onto the Spheal.

"Bit hot here, isn't it?" he asked, reaching into his bag to grab two cans of Charja-Cola. "Here, take one of these," Zac said, offering the can to his new friend. "One sip'll blow your robe clean off!"

Apparently Alexei had worked up quite an appetite. In the time it took Zac to finish a decent sized piece, the other gym leader was already done! "Whoa! Where did ya hide it all?" Zac laughed. 

The judges called and end to the competition, and summoned Alexei up on stage, where he was awarded his crown, and two complimentary watermelons. "Nice work mate!" Zac said, slapping the other man on the back. "I knew you had it in ya. Watermelon, that is!"

San Della Cruz popped out the other end of the watermelon. The trip through had pushed back the Articuno hat, revealing his happy face, tongue wagging and breath smelling like watermelon and Tauros jerky. "Look! It's a little Articuno emerging from its watermelon egg!" Zac said, taking a picture of his dog to email to . "Cute little devil!"

Now it was Zac's turn. His team had smashed the watermelons, with only a single casualty. It was time to bring the team home. With gusto, Zac cracked into his watermelon and devoured the broken wedges.

Zac laughed at the Charizard chomping on the big melon. "No better way to cool off ay mate?" Zac called to the big reptile. Truly, watermelon was the highlight of any summer.

Up last for Zac was San Della Cruz. The third, and most mischievous, of Zac's Lycanroc. This one wore the Articuno costume, letting it billow out behind him and clash violently with his orange fur. "You look great, buddy!" Zac said supportively, thoroughly undermining San Della Cruz's attempts to look cool by resisting authority. 

Lycanroc sneezed its dissent, and started gnawing one end off the watermelon, chewing its way inside with practiced efficiency.
