He pointed his thumb at himself briefly, before gesturing to the Scyther next to him as well.

"Nice to meet'cha!" He said, before gesturing to her vaguely. Perhaps hoping for an introduction of her own. "Let's have fun, yeah?"

Vs Roy Aker

As many before, the battle ended in their opponent's favor.

Doug crouched besides the shrinking Kama's figure, laying a hand upon her as her body finally assumed its true size. Her wounds began to disappear in an instant, knitting together until none where left.

He smiled.

"You did well." He said to her, before helping her up to her feet. He turned his gaze over to their opponents. "Thanks for the match— you were great. Best luck in the tourney!"

Kama had a brief moment of triumph, followed by one of commeuppance, her opponet's shadow surging forth and taking her right off her feet, her figure skipping around the battlefield briefly before flipping around to land heavily on her feet.

Shaking her head sharply in an attempt to throw away the vertigo, Kama lowered herself further into a crouch before suddenly launching up in a straight line, her wings spreading wide to turn her leap into an aerial maneuever— her aura surging as a red haze took over her scythes.

From high in the air, the scyther reeled back her arm before swinging forward, launching a massive wall of winds at her opponent.

"I'm leaving the crown for the newbies to pick up." Doug said with an unnecessary flourish, sweeping his ponytail off his shoulder sassily. "But don't worry, I'll make it entertaining for ya."

Kama turned her gaze up as their opponent lumbered closer— gigantamax wasn't new to her anymore, but it would've been a bold lie to claim it wasn't still intimidating to be forced to look so far up at one's opponent.

Worst yet– this one decided to start with a bang.


Kama leapt off to the side in a rush as lightning descended from the heavens, the electricity far too close for the rushed maneuver to prove fully effective.

With seared chitin on her left side, the bug-type clicked her tongue before reeling back her arm and punching forward, sending walls of cutting wind hurtling towards the towering cat before beginning to rush around the arena, keeping her eyes on the prize.

Was that sarcasm? He didn't think Noah was the kind, but given how things were going for them, it certainly felt tongue in cheek.

He decided to stick his tongue out at the other man just in case.

Meanwhile, Kama had gotten herself outplayed in the air, getting smacked back down to the arena by a powerful blow. The angle this time hadn't turned her into a skipping stone, but it had just about made her into a pancake.

Rolling onto her side and back to her feet with a groan, the Scyther shook her head sharply before glaring at her opponent, her temper beginning to rise.

A surge of energy rushed through her as the crystal at Doug's wrist began to glow, a crimson shine shimmering brightly around her scythes as she began to spin in place, generating a localized storm inside the arena!

"Preach, sister." He cracked at her words, prompting his Scyther to squint at him in her closest approximation of a pout. "What? I mean it with love!"

With a disbelieving huff, Kama turned her attention back to her opponent. He would get what was coming to him after this!

The battle began in earnest, and her opponent came charging at her with ferocity that challenged even her own.

Naturally, she replied in kind, launching forward with a hiss, all too willing to meet any opponent in close quarters.

He grinned wide at his friend, rising from where he had been sitting with his Scyther to spread his arms wide.

"And I've heard nothing 'bout'cha at all, Matty!" He declared cheerfully. The trash talk was intentional. "Was beginning to think you were skipping this year, Mr. Elite!"

Two tourneys in a row as 4th place sounded rough.

"Don't worry 'bout me; we're taking it easy this year." he said, reaching besides himself to pet his aged Scyther.

Unlike him however, the Scyther did not look at all at ease, narrowing her eyes at Matias dangerously, all but speaking to him.

'Run your hands. RUN 'EM UP.'

There was a strong dichotomy between trainer and pokemon going on here...

"So! How's the tourney been for ya? There's a lot of new cool kids running around now. It's been fun getting to experience the new talents!"

Kama had been in her own share of battles— though managing little more than a glancing blow, her wings spread wide and pushed away as her opponent sent a frightening retaliation, her quick action managing to turn a devastating Dynamic punch into its own glancing strike.

She did note worrying cracks upon her chitin armor as she landed nimbly, narrowing her eyes at her opponent.

Frightening strength... Best to keep her distance.

Leaping further away, Kama's scythes blurred before two booms followed, walls of air closing into Syah a second later.

As the dust cleared, the battle was revealed to not quite be over. But if a winner of that exchange was to be crowned, it certainly appeared like Kama had taken less damage than her opponent.

"You've got this, Kama!" Doug cheered out for his Scyther— or rather, tried his best to offer support.

Because she did not look nor feel like much of a winner, panting hard as she swayed from side to side, her weight shifting from one leg to the other.

She couldn't lose here, though— not again. She had suffered so many losses in the tournament already. She wanted to win!

Clamping down her teeth, she shifted from a sway into a low crouch without warning, her thigh muscles briefly bulging before she suddenly exploded forward into a mad dash, lunging towards her opponent with a spirited cry.

Though Kama initiated, the Mightyena proved more ferocious, catching her mid-acrobatics with a poisonous fangs to the leg.

The Scyther released a pained hiss, powerful canines crushing down unto her chitin armor— but she wasn't about to take it lying down.

It was difficult to dislodge a hyena once it bit down, but she was certainly gonna try.

Folding her scythe inwards so as to turn it into a club, the Scyther swung it at her opponent's face firmly, intent on dislodging it from her.

The dragon hammer crashes against the wildly spinning Scyther— but perhaps due to it becoming a contest of strength between a small bird and a titan, it went into Kama's favor, her beyblade technique managing to repel her opponent.

Against all odds, Kama's desperation move actually had actually worked, bringing the scales of the battle a little closer to evenness.

But the question was, could she actually bring it home?

As she grind to a slow stop, the panting Kama couched low, before raising her arms high in the air and bringing them to generate a large shockwave. Go, go, go!

Surprisingly, Kama's first blow landed heavily, her opponent sent to the very edges of the arena.

Huh. How lucky! Usually, things didn't go well for her when Doug ran his mou—

"KUGH!" And there it was.

Skipping over the arena like a pebble over a lake's surface, Kama just barely avoided getting rung out by spreading her wings wide, flapping them wildly whilst pinwheeling her arms madly to keep herself short of falling.

"Well, yeah; hopefully it doesn't go like that every time, though!" Doug said while scratching the back of his neck, looking at Kama with a measure of worry.

Mostly for her ego; if it kept getting as much of a beating as she was in this tourney, he feared she really might retire for good.

Shaking off her ringing head, Kama eyed her newly crowned opponent wearily whilst lowering her stance, slowly rounding around the Toxicroak while keeping a healthy distance.

With a growl, she suddenly leapt in the air, her arms blurring briefly before a boom rocked the arena, sending walls of air hurtling towards her opponent.

It seemed like the typing disadvantage would prove an unsurmountable obstacle for Kama.

Well, no reason to give up without a fight.

Spinning in place as she couldn't go anywhere any longer, Kama generated a torrential of winds around herself, throwing several walls of air flying about in an attempt to throw the Charizard's flight into turbulence.
