The sudden Z-move always caught them off guard. Kama found herself hurtling back, battered as her opponent bashed into her like a missile, her body skipping along the arena like a stone over a lake.

But hey, if Logan was going to get involved, he may as well do it too!

"Show 'em what big really means, Kama!" He said, raising his pokeball towards her.

Nice pun there, brain.

Kama fell back unto the field just a tad bit bigger— though looking no less dizzy from her earlier experience, her feet stomping around as she stumbled for some balance.

As ever, Kama's confidence came to bite her back quick, blazing flames pouring out of the tiny Eevee's mouth and catching her while she was trying to be slick and get up close and personal.

With a yelp, she was scrambling back with burnt wings, hissing in pain. It just had to be fire.

Not too keen to get close anymore, the Scyther's arms blurred as she suddenly punched the air before her, sending walls of wind hurtling towards the Eevee with booming claps.

And like that, the genie was gone.

"Shit." Fat load of nothing they (him specifically) accomplished there. "Hah... You okay?"

Tapu Lele didn't respond, merely hovering with what he had dubbed 'the chill' expression on her face. Whatever it was she had intended to accomplish, she had either gotten it or had already decided she didn't care.

If only it were that easy for him.

"Ya gonna stick around or— and she's gone." He didn't even get to finish his question before his dear matron casually dropped into his shadow, dipping in as if it were water's surface.

"Whatever; things look to be wrappin' up anyway." He said, turning his gaze over to the booming Kyurem, the suddenly appearing Palkia, and the hot mess going on around them.

Best make sure no one got too injured in all this. He raised his arm in the air, spreading out his healing scales as far as they would go around him.

He snickered; was she humoring him, or brushing him off...? He decided to take her words in the best light, smiling.

"Well, it is pretty unique in Johto! I think they prefer precious metals over there." Gold, Silver... Crystal wasn't really a metal, but weirdly popular as well.

"Oh- I meant my name. I like it a lot nowadays; came with a change of perspective, you could say." He said with a chuckle, glancing down while shaking his head, hands on his hips.

What was she doing these days...? Was she okay?

... Not like he would find out just standing there and thinking about it.

"Sorry— got lost in my thoughts there. Shall we?" He asked, grinning as cocked his head.

His Scyther stepped forth, awaiting for her opponent to do the same before lowering herself into a combat stance.

"Let's have a good match, Ms. Blue!" Doug said, before swinging his arm through the air dramatically. "Kama! Go!"

Kama lunged forward immediately, her silhouette blurring in and out of view as she rapidly closed the distance between herself and the Mightyena.

He stuck out his tongue at the other, bending at the waist with his hands on his hips.

"Bleeeh! Kama's the best whether she wins or not!" He declared boldly, before grinning as he swept his arm. "Not that she'll lose though! Go get 'em, Kama! Show 'em who's boss!"

Her spirit kindled into a blaze by the high praise, Kama reeled back and roared before lunging for the other Kama, rushing the Toxicroak before suddenly blurring out of view, moving quickly to before suddenly attempting to shoulder-check her opponent from the side.

He whistled as the other trainer answered in kind, turning up the heat as he brought out the Mega evolution.

Doug preferred bugs, naturally, but as a born and raised kantonian, he could not deny the appeal of Charizard as it flew through the air, blasting against Kama with overpowering force.

Kama was nowhere near as enchanted, her large silhouette stumbling as she was blasted with draconic rage. With a furious yowl, she swung her arm to bat the dragon to the ground, the large appendage swinging at it.

TL;DR:

In and out, do your damage and get out of the way. Kama managed to stick to those basics well without getting tripped up for once, and it awarded her with a hit on her opponent and a clean evasion.

Now, she just needed to not let it get to her head and ruin her chances.

Accelerating away from the heat wave, the Scyther leapt in the air and spread her wings before swinging her scythes down onto the field below, sending walls of air hurtling to her opponent.

Whatever cosmic entity was out there, protecting the Wooper from so much as getting touched despite Kama's best efforts, she could only pray it would fall over and die a horrific death right this moment, because at this point nothing else would make her happy.

With a grumble that sounded more pained and frustrated than angry and passionate, Kama attempted to sweep the battlefield and the Wooper on it, stumbling over her feet briefly as she did; the exhaustion threatened to topple her before she got anything done.

Getting sent hurtling back by the Riolu's force palm, Kama slammed her scythes onto the soil to grind herself to a stop, a glowing red aura surging around her as the Z-crystal activated.

Tearing her arms off the ground, she swept them across the air in elegant arcs as she lunged for the Riolu once again, snapping the blades inwards in order to turn her arms into clubs as she swung for the Riolu with renewed, if temporary vigour.

Kama rode her own waves into the Frost breath attack, the walls of wind pushing away the misty attack as she rushed the Eevee.

A lucky choice that carried onto their next move— they just had to seize the opportunity it afforded them now.

Closer to the Eeevee now, Kama lunged for the little guy before suddenly dropping into a low sweep, her leg coming for the feline(?) swiftly—!

For his part, he jogged in place as she came to a gasping stop.

"This is barely a warmup, CADET!" He finally said a moment later, grinning from ear to ear. "Don't worry! It ain't gonna kill you— you'll wish it did, though!"

He wasn't about to go easy on her just because she was a friend. Oh no— precisely because she was a friend, he would work her until she made career soldiers look like rank amateurs or died trying!

"We still got a mile left, cadet. You got a minute to catch your breath— then we're going straight until we reach bootcamp!"
