Somewhat weirded out by the two men's antics, the Scyther gave her opponent a helpless shrug before launching forward into an offensive, her scythes skirting over the soil as she narrowed the distance between them before suddenly accelerating out of sight, the soil seemingly tearing apart on its own as she blurred along her opponent's side while taking a quick swing—

He closed his eyes and swallowed down the tears in his heart at the blank gaze he recieved.

Not her fault. You've changed your whole flow since you last met. It's perfectly reasonable to be forgotten. He consoled himself as the dragon gal searched through her archives for a name to place on his face.

Mercifully, she eventually did, sparing him from any further ego bruising.

"Glad to hear! I've met lotsa intense folk since the tourney began." He said, thinking back to aaron faust and snickering. "Honestly, I was getting worried I might be the only one having fun around 'ere."

He waved at Chomper as Kama, ever temperamental, glared right back at Chomper with enough venom to melt concrete, stopping just short of shoving her face into one of its own.

"Ah, these two look raring to go. Shall we start?" He asked, gesturing with his neck for the dragon girl to follow to a near arena.

Once inside, Doug sauntered to one end with Kama in tow, the Scyther quickly taking her place and lowering her stance, spreading her arms aggressively.

"Ready?" He asked, shouting. "Go!"

Kama launched forward immediately, lunging towards Chomper with both arms glowing a neon green—!

Repelled back by lightning, the Scyther released a low hiss that suspiciously resembled a cuss as she flew back, her wings spreading wide to correct her balance as she spun about and landed on her feet—

Before immediately launching forth yet again. That approach didn't work— Time to try something else.

Bouncing left and right in a zig zag pattern, the Scyther lunged towards the ghost before leaping over her in an agile moonsault, her scythe-clubs gleaming with a white aura as she attempted a drive by clubbing at the Mismagius' head.

He wasn't sure of what the champion meant by that, but he accepted the ego-saving statement with a chuckle.

"Well, it was funny." He said wryly, patting Kama on the head to fully heal her whilst crouched besides her. "Not too sure if Kama had fun, though."

She was a very proud girl— and losing to a poochyena was probably not gonna be doing any favors to her ego.

"Maybe the true victory was the humility we learned along the way." He said with a snort, before grinning over to Kyle as he stood back up. "Don't worry about work— I'll be back."

The tournament would be going for a while. He just needed to fit as many scraps in between lunch breaks as he could.

He couldn't quite hear what she said, but he just about got the gist of it from reading her lips.

He grinned wide, throwing a thumbs up her way. "Thank ya kindly, missy! You too. Shall we, then?"

Kama stepped forth, scythes at the ready.

"Take it easy and have fun, Kama." Both for her own sake, and their opponent's. "Go!"

The Scyther nodded before launching forth, folding her scythes inwards as if to wield them like clubs as her arms glowed a neon green, before swinging at her opponent's body.

Crouching besides his scyther, he patted her head twice to heal the her wounds and poisoning before returning her to her ball. "Ya did good. Have a nice rest." He said, before rising back to his feet.

"Congrats on the win! Ya guys were great. Here's to hoping ya keep doing well in the tourney." He said to Shalin before turning to exit the arena, waving a hand over his shoulder. "See ya around."

The Scyther seized as the lightning tore across the battlefield, using the puddles left in the surf's wake to trap her in a cage of thunder.

Her wet wings were little use in getting her out of there, but she had no intention of giving up. She was still in this shit!!!

Her eyes glowed as she roared, a glowing red aura surging around her before pooling into her scythes—

With two swings, a massive storm was released around her, pushing sending the puddles flying away as it spread out wildly, advancing towards the pikachu.

The Scyther felt smug satisfaction at the fact that one of her plans had actually worked for once in this goddamn tournament.

Such things could not be allowed to go unpunished however— and for her emotional transgressions, she found herself washed away by a roaring river, her wings flapping wildly as she struggled against the current.

"What did I tell you about keeping a cool head!" Shouted Doug as he watched his Scyther get taken for a surfing lesson— Unfortunately, it did not seem like she appreciated it, her eyes glowing crimson as her aura burned, the bug beginning to swing around wildly as she released walls of wind around herself.

And knock her off her feet it did, her chitin scrapping against the floor before she spun about to fully face her opponent.

Clicking her tongue, she decided to switch gears, launching forth while brandishing the back of her scythes as clubs, attempting to strike at the Pikachu's head before it even thought of using lightning.

Doug raised his hand over his eyes as the 'Fuck you Beam' blasted across the stadium, flashier than lightning and louder than thunder.

Kama was already weak to electricity— there was little chance in tanking that.

Stepping past the battlefield line towards his pokemon, he crouched besides her and tapped her carapace, knitting her wounds closed in an instant. "Ya did good, Kama. Don't worry too much."

He pet her head briefly before returning her to her ball, before rising to give his opponent a tilt of the brow.

"'Fuck you' beam, huh?" He echoed at the adult man.

Perhaps having learned from the last time she got upclose and personal with the chubby electric ball, Kama had leapt away from the its gut the moment she connected, almost seeming to bounce off it as it unleashed a torrential discharge.

Her flapping wings carried her through the air, her eyes wide as she watched the lightning pool out. Relief filled her. So far, things were going better than before... but only just.

She couldn't get cocky.

Her arms blurred as she swung at the Pikachu's face with twin walls of wind.

Smiling and nodding at the Pikachu, Doug stepped back towards his side of the field whilst patting Kama's back encouragingly.

"See? They're into it. Go get'em, tiger mantis lady." He said, prompting a snort out of his Scyther as she stepped forth.

As the battle began, she was quick to leap back and put some distance between herself and the lightning mouse, her arms swinging swiftly and sending walls of wind to keep the pikachu at bay.

Sure, it might've been a bit strange, specially next to her other fights— but perhaps she would find she preferred these arrangements.

"Ready?" He asked her, before nodding. "Let's start! Kama, forward!"

With Elise's go, the battle could get well on hand, the Scyther launching forth to meet her opponent. Ghost types couldn't be touched by fighting type moves, which put her in a bit of a spot— but she had other tricks!

Her scythe glowed green as she took a swing at the Mismagius!
