Elinor listened to Josh’s tale first of family, and then of tragedy. If only she could feign surprise at that result. But by now it has become abundantly clear that try as they might the status que would forever be kept by forces unknown.

“I am sorry to hear that.” Elinor spoke. She could ponder results later, but that right there was the important part.

The Metagross that she rode spoke its condolences as well while it kept them on their path. Albeit what it said was done so in its own Poké-tongue leaving it quite impossible to understand, though its intent was still clear.



LOCATION: COMMITMENT ACT 1 (Repeat)

“Yeah I had the same reaction.” Elinor nodded in eager agreement.

Elinor did not take Lars up on the offer of candy. However, her Pokemon had no such reservations as the Minccino dove straight for the offered content.

“Didn’t quite get the details on how she achieved this, she must've figured out how to upgrade the sygna suits somehow.” Elinor shrugged, feeling just a faint bit of envy toward Andrea Vaneau and her flying sygna suit.

“Anyhow, enough about fancy sygna suits! Let’s get to the important part..” She proclaimed with her usual enthusiasm “I hear you're some big-shot around here, hopefully you don’t mind sharing the spotlight!” A bombastic way to proclaim her intention to join him at the Verdanturf HQ as a ranger.




OOC: WAKE UP!

The Z-moves effect was lessening. The Robotic opponents kept coming and they did so now with less struggle.

And so with Laurence Anderson intent on going to save Josh Devlin Elinor felt compelled to stay here. If they both left the robots would just follow. So though the Ice-borne mirage stayed behind for her to join, she merely gave it a “I am staying here.” As she gestured for it to leave.

And just as she did One of the sturdier looking ones jumped at her. Luckily the Aggron was quick enough to meet the Iron Boulder in a collision. For a moment they seemed equally matched but then Aggron’s skills prove its superiority as it quickly subdues it.

And for a moment an idea strikes Elinor. She casts a Pokeball at it, and attempts to capture the IRON BOULDER.

But everything comes to a momentary halt as the sound of a screeching glass fills the air. Elinor’s eyes shoot toward its origin. Her eyes shot wide not in horror but in relief, finally some good news. At least she hoped it was, because there certainly wasn't a way for her to be able to fight against Palkia, and the big bad boss monster AND all these robots.

No, she just had to accept that there were things she could and things she couldn’t deal with right now. Still, that was a bitter medicine.



LOCATION: Rightward of Kyurem
TLDR:

- Elinor stays behind to let Laurence Anderson go save Josh Devlin
- Elinor's Aggron Subdues an Iron Boulder, and she tries to catch it for good measure.
- Elinor notices the appearance of Palkia, and hopes it is good news.
- Elinor accepts her fate if it isn't good news.

This weird sensation began to well up in her as she watched Aggron fight against the enemies that approached them. Though the more she thought about it the more it became clear it wasn’t a feeling welling up from within but rather a pressure squeezing at her.

But before she could confirm that Lars was feeling the same, dear cousin dove straight into her dragging her out and down as a SHEER COLD crashed down on the area around the robotic horde.

Still as she got back up on her feet, the sight of the Articuno brought some reassurance to her mind. If nothing else this was at least an improvement at a personal level for Lars. Still, she did want to snark at the bird, since it deserved it for its tardiness, but she bit her tongue for now.

Still, a “Thanks for showing up!” escaped her, a bit of a cheeky grin on her lips as she looked toward the ice-bird for a moment. Moments were all that she was afforded as the battle continued, Robots pressed on those not frozen marched ever on to deal harm.

Elinor gritted her teeth as she watched the sturdier Paradox Pokemon find the will and strength of body to fight the Divine Gravity.

Deep down she knew it wouldn’t stop them completely. It never did, it never was THAT simple. And so while the Z-move effect ran its course the Aggron began to fight IRON HEAD banging into one Paradox Pokemon before a SHADOW CLAW clawed into another.

If this went the way it did right now they would be overrun. And so she turned to Lars, her face screaming Do-Something-and-do-it-quick.

TLDR:

- A little Fight montage with Aggron fighting Paradox Mons using IRON HEAD and SHADOW CLAW.
- Elinor wants Laurence Anderson to do something ASAP

For a moment, just a a brief moment with Lars by her side, she had played with the thought that maybe she would not have to forego the innocent and the weak to focus on the monster. Others could surely handle it!

But she was wrong. Flames clad the battlefield as Prophecies were uttered, not that they made much sense to her. And Hoppa was causing problems too!

She found herself pinching the bridge of her nose in best Laurence Anderson fashion. She wasn’t even surprised at this point. And now Robots! She didn’t even know if it was robots, but it sure looked like it and she didn’t like it!

“Sure! But be warned it will hit EVERYTHING around Gron.” Elinor warned as she switched from Salamence to Aggron. And as the Aggron took to the field, so too did her attire change as her Sygna Suit went from inactive to the active. Admittedly she looked more like an Aggron-knight than a Ranger at this point.

“Prepare yourself, here it comes! DIVINE GRAVITY”



For a split second a ripple of energy passed around Aggron and its vicinity both into the air and along the ground. And then it began.

Gravity suddenly grew crushing, forcing Pokemon in the air around it down if they were not strong enough to fight the gravity. But that was not all. Even those Pokemon, Paradox or not, capable of fighting the gravity they would feel the sustained damage heavy, blunt and crushing.

Elinor only prayed she had calculated correctly and there wouldn’t be too much collateral.

TLDR:

- Elinor is annoyed but not surprised by the sudden worsening of the situation.
- Laurence Anderson asks Elinor to use her Z-Move, and Elinor agrees but warns that it's an AOE.
- Elinor summons Aggron, activates her Sygna Suit and uses the Z-move to catch as many Paradox Pokemon as possible within the AOE.

“Thank you!” She said, giving Memo and his Kabutops a quick thumbs up. Before returning her attention to her surroundings. It seemed the Celesteela might be feeling a little bit peckish and they looked like snacks.

“Agreed, let’s leave.” Elinor said, but before she could make a move she noticed how the killer-origami hovered in front of her. It seemed almost as if it was expecting her to do something. Deciding it wouldn’t hurt she quickly retrieved a Pokéball and offered it to the Kartana. It looked a bit confused quickly followed by curiosity. It poked the sphere and was quickly sucked inside. It did not emerge again.

Only then did she realize that she had held her breath the moment it had been sucked inside. Returning to her surroundings once more, she quickly jumped onto her Salamence and took to the air.

And as she ascended it became apparent that the Celesteela that attacked her wasn’t the only one rising to the occasion, and they had noticed Alexei’s unwillingness to depart.

Can’t believe I have to do this… Elinor grumbled in her mind as she summoned Chang, another Salamence, to her side. The Dragon took a moment to hover besides the one Elinor was riding, before flying in the direction the trainer pointed.

Radiant rainbow light enveloped Chang the Salamence for a brief moment before it emerged Mega Evolved, and with new speed it soared quicker than any flying Pokemon in Elinor’s arsenal could toward Alexei. Like a missile Chang flew with purpose, and only halted his speed for long enough to safely grab the unwilling trainer with its jaw, before dragging the trainer into the air kicking and screaming of necessary.

Hopefully their Braviary would come and pick the trainer up after this, because flying like this wouldn’t be a pleasant ride for Alexei.

With the angry fist pushed away and Hoopa Ring gone, for now, Elinor and Minh were given a moment of reprieve, just long enough to consider dear Cousin’s question.

“It seems like we aren’t making much progress in defeating either of those two.” Even the notion of holding off was debatable, but defeating not so much. “So let’s focus on the injured and getting them to safety. But let’s keep an eye out for any opportunities to deal some damage, sounds good?”

It sounded good to her, and to Minh too.

“As for your problem.” She gestured toward Kyurem in surprisingly Alto Maren fashion. “Wasn’t that the source of it to begin with? I am sure it is going to be too cowardly to show up to help with this.” She gave a cheeky grin to Lars.

She didn’t know how the connection between the Mirage and her cousin worked, but perhaps if it could hear what Lars heard she could taunt it into action. Surely taunting it couldn’t go wrong.

Elinor hadn’t really had time to consider the implications of where they were going. Too many things had happened all at once, so by the time she reached the moon and realized that she wasn’t supposed to have been able to make that journey, never mind leaving the atmosphere, simply breathing up here, that was all too late. She had already made the journey. Still, if by some fluke they made the journey, they still shouldn’t have been able to survive up here. And yet here she, and as she looked around, everyone else was living and breathing.

This was all very dizzying, and that was putting it mildly. She jumped down from the Salamence, she needed to feel proper solid ground beneath her feet. Beside her the Kartana hovered thoughtfully as if deciding what to do.

“I am in favor of not disturbing them.” Elinor agreed, though finding herself beset by a dizzying spell of vertigo. She merely assumed it was the journey here that had caused it. But as she tried to move, she found her foot stuck. Looking down, she saw vines that had sneakily sprouted from the ground. A Celesteela nearby stood tall with a smirk on its face as it was happily lapping up Elinor’s energy through its LEECH SEED.
