They reached the eye of the storm and dealt with its source.

“Seems like it.” Elinor muttered as baffled as the Gym Leader.

And while they were busy being confused Kartana took a moment to survey the area. It remembered this place all too well. This was a perfect opportunity, or so it thought. It knew it was being selfish, it knew it may not exactly be a kind thing to do. But it eagerly waved it’s origami-hand toward the entrance as it began to lead its trainer and her friends toward a cave opening in the ground.

“I guess it wants to show us something?” Elinor questioned. She had yet to get the hang on its language as one would a normal Pokemon.

Though as they went further down the Cave tunnel lead by the Kartana they rather quickly saw huge vines stretching from up top to down low blocking their path.

Traveling side by side with Laurence Anderson into this unknown area was surprisingly exciting. It was almost as if she was finally allowed a moment to feel how it felt to be a real proper down-to-earth Ranger.

“Exciting adventure And maybe, loot?” Obviously she was joking. If By now Lars couldn’t read that big smirk on her lips then they truly didn’t spend enough time together. Anyhow, she knew adventure was a given with how Hoenn tended to throw curveballs.

However, loot was questionable, this wasn’t that sort of move after all.

They flew into the storm much to the protests of Alexei. Debri flew around them threatening to hit them even as their mount sped up. But with the increased speed came more danger. A huge chunk of something steel looking flew toward them. Luckily Alexei wasn’t the only one who had the idea of using their Ultra Beast.

Up until now her Kartana had kept itself hidden in a pocket. But sensing danger approaching it flew out, rushing ahead of the Celesteela just in time to cut the flying debris into pieces and scatter it before it made their lives a pain.

But that was not the end of it, as it decided to take point and lead the Celesteela through the storm and debris safely. Though the Celesteela made it no easy feat at this speed.

“A Celesteela for myself.” She admitted with a big smirk on her lips as she continued clinging to their mount.

But then any further conversation was interrupted by a huge and powerful Celestial storm hit them. Storm gales filled with emerald steel, metal and bamboo torn from the ground tried to knock their mount out and add them to the growing debris. Elinor would trust Alexei with navigating this, all she could do was cling and look.

And through sheer luck her eyes caught the shine of something green in the middle. And for a moment she considered the possibility that something was creating this storm.

“Aim for the Center. I think something is creating this storm!” She called out, praying that Alexei could hear her through the wind.

Elinor never considered herself a Coordinator, but she would be damned if she wasn’t going to help the people of Hoenn get through the horrors of Kyurem’s second visit by spreading cheer and showing toughness.

She only prayed that Laurence Anderson wouldn’t be out there spectating, watching how she was surely about to make a fool of herself.

Clad in a traditional coral red yukata with extravagant steel-silver embroidery on its back, she waited her turn while the others made their introductions to the onlookers. And while she waited she gazed upon Gron the Aggron, who also had been dressed up. Though due to its size, they had chosen to wear a simple Haori with the words Endure, Persevere, Adapt, Thrive, embroidered on its back. A Message for the people out there. To finish off the look a straw hat with holes for its horns had been neatly placed on its head.

And so as their turn came and they stepped onto the scene they looked like a Samurai protecting a princess. They took center positions. And for a moment there was silence as she calmed her nerves. This was the first time she was addressing such a large crowd since her departure.

“Greetings people of Hoenn, I am Elinor Anderson and this - “ She gestured toward the Aggron with a flowing theatrical hand gesture. “- Is Gron.” The Aggron bowed humbly.

“Gron is one of my most trusted companions. He has been with me through thick and thin, endured, like we have endured, fought like we have fought. On all the battlefields we have been together he has been valiantly fighting for our right to live, even risking his own life in the process. Most recently he fought in the Silent Islands.” Elinor proclaimed.

“But today we are not here to fight. We are here to put your hearts at ease by letting you see just how capable the defenders of Hoenn truly are! So please, sit back and enjoy the show.” And with that both Elinor and Gron bowed humbly before letting the next walk onto the stage.

Elinor’s Shaymin had been busy sniffing a flower when something caught its attention. It perked up as it listened to the best of its ability, and then it rushed off through brush and flowers.

“Hey, Shay!” Elinor blurted out as she saw the little green and white body rushing off. Elinor quickly followed.

And it didn’t take long before the Shaymin found the source of its curiosity. It made no attempts at hiding itself, in fact quite the opposite as it, with great grandeur, presented itself to both the other Shaymin and its trainer with a greeting spoken in its Shaymin tongue.

Behind it, the visage of its trainer hurrying to catch up with the little green-white speedster.

“Always has been.” Elinor spoke, the joking tone in her voice hopefully made it clear to the Dragon-Enthusiast that this was not a contest that required participation if she did not want to.

And while Elinor dealt with the Krookodile the Flame-bird had delivered, her bird of prey flew of scouring the land for more to capture.

The Fiery Falcon noticed a Pupitar that tried to cover and hide. It’s blue shell unfortunately stood out against the rocky terrain, making it an easy target. The sound of soaring hungry fire emerged into the air as the Talonflame dove down and grabbed its prey, before lifting it high up in the air and letting it fall. For all the Trashing the Pupitar did, it did not manage to get out in time and so it fell to the ground and upon impact was knocked out.

The Talonflame then flew down once again to grab and deliver the Pupitar to its trainer for Capture.

As Josh told his story and the thoughts he had about what had happened so far. She could not help but feel a bit guilty. He had been set upon the path that led to death of dear friends by her and her own traumas.

Deep in thought she felt the desire to blame Necrozma for all of this, for it had been the origin point. But deep down she knew that in doing so she would only be pushing away the responsibility she had for her own actions.

“I can’t take credit for all of that. It’s all you.” She replied. She knew if she had never made the suggestion he might’ve never taken the path. But still, all that he had done, all that Josh had built, was made by HIS hands.

“Will do.” Elinor replied as Josh alerted them to the proximity of their query. The Metagross made its metallic sounds as well, acknowledging the newly delivered information. It focused its mind to look out for the people they were looking for.



LOCATION: COMMITMENT ACT 1 (Repeat)

The Boomburst washed down upon Aggron, and the large steel behemoth didn’t even try to dodge. It’s steel-hard body doing its best to handle the powerful vibrations.

“Don’t worry, Gron can take hits like a tank.” Elinor replied.

Through gritted teeth the Aggron took aim. It knew as well as it’s trainer that they needed the fliers down on the ground. There were options of course, but since they had a battle partner, the most obvious choice could not be used as it would hit them as well.

But Aggron figured Gardevoir and her trainer had a plan. And so he continued to fire jets of HYDRO PUMP toward the Flygon aiming if not to hit at least to move it closer to its companion.

“They didn’t even make you Captain of this place? -” Her voice steeped in surprise as the gross wasting of potential became apparent to her. Par for the course, when it came to League business really.

“- That is a bit disappointing.” She admitted “But that means you’ve got the time to show me around and give me the rundown of the place, no?”

Meanwhile the Minccino didn’t take the attempt to keep it safe from its own greed well. And so eagerly began to attempt to climb Lars to get to the Caramel treasure.

Verdanturf, a nice, quiet scenic town with plenty of nature, surrounded by mountains to one side and forest to the other.

Peaceful and quiet.

Elinor still needed to grow accustomed to the tranquility of it all. Yet for each day that passed she could feel it slowly seeping into her.

While the Tranquility meant that was woefully little for Rangers like her to do, it offered her plenty of opportunity to go through the forest and enjoy life and most important of all bond. Bond with the variety of Pokemon she had by now added to her team.

Today’s subject was Shaymin. The little green topped Gracidea Pokemon happily hurried around filled with energy and a desire to sniff each and every flower it could get its little nose close by.

Elinor clung tightly to the Celesteela owned by Alexei Ivanov as they flew over the canopy trees that made up the jungle of the ULTRA CRATER.

The moon hung high in the sky once again. But she had no intention of going up there again, remembering all too well what happened last time.

But if she thought they would avoid danger then she would be sorely disappointed. For as they flew, and without prior warning strong gales emerged from the ground in a veritable CELESTIAL STORM.

Here we go again.
