He doesn't notice Rocket's backup battery until after the blinding light has ceased, and the damage has been done— and promptly un-done.

Something had taken the brunt of the damage for the dynatree— and from his position, he had no clue of what.

What he did have, however, were new orders. Straight from Director paxton concordas's mouth.

He also had a Frigid King's gaze upon him.

"If I survive, I'll see to it." Is all he can say to the director as a glacial lance is launched towards him and Galatine like a railgun, closing the distance in an instant.

He knows almost immediately that there's no dodging or King Shield'ing it— Galatine was still recovering from her Z-move.

Before he can think of anything else however, the sword at his feet rises suddenly, her tassels wrapping firmly around him as she interposed her shield and body between him and the spear.

A thundering crack booms and reverberates through him, Galatine's tassels loosening as she goes rigid, before they fell into the water and were washed by the current.

He was not the sort of amateur who would make such mistakes.

He follows after her as they descend into the submerged waters. A shadow moves around them, flowing through the walls as it searches for dangers ahead.

"Sea Mauville has been abandoned for a near decade now." He said as they continued their descent, the darkness somehow appearing to grow a pitch darker around them. "It's strangel; for there to be new resources and intel now."

Dressed in his own safety gear, the blonde rose from where he was at his partner's waving, drawing near in a hurried power walk.

"Hoh... Indeed." Gwyar said as he joined his companion for the mission, looking over the toxic sludge dripping into the water. "Hopefully it's still nearby."

Be easier to prevent any further spills if they dealt with it directly.

Reaching into his belt, the blonde produced a luxury ball, releasing from it a bright, gleaming Aegislash.

"We'll purify these waters. Could you look around and see if we can't find our spiller, Mr. James?"

As he said this, his Aegislash dipped its steel blade into the murky, toxic water, before beginning to shine brightly, the water around it slowly beginning to regain its crystal clear sheen.

His attack isn't enough to take down the avatar of Xerneas, and Galatine's efforts do not pan out as planned.

Stellar.

His irritation rose by a notch. After his 'results' in Mossdeep, he couldn't afford to be letting enemies go.

He narrowed his eyes at Wolf's back, the sword burning hot in his grasp as he prepared another blast.

However, his attention drifted away from the man as he approached a towering tree.

Almost identical to the one in Evergrande, the towering tree of life loomed over Sootopolis and reminded all that there was not one but two Kings of bountiful harvests in Hoenn.

Humming to himself thoughtfully, Gwyar shared a look with Galatine, before slowly lowering his sword, the light shining on its length dissipating as he sheathed it in a smooth motion.

The thrumming of infinity energy dissipated, the flowing glow around his suspenders disappearing as he powered down his sygna suit.

Let's try something else. He nodded at his Aegislash, before it leaped into the water with him closely after, landing atop her edge before she launched.

The gem embedded into his guantlet gleamed brightly as the sword at his feet shone like a small star.

What a mess. He thought, beholding the collapsed crater walls of Sootopolis.

A natural marvel, brought low by wartime conflict.

Though admittedly, he was much more concerned with the seeming funnel of death that was to be their entrance into the city when he had that thought.

All those Magikarp Splash attempts were about to pay off big time.

Riding astride his Aegislash once again, Gwyar swerved through the coastal batteries attempting to put down the incoming league forces, launching over the waves and into the air, towards the city's collapsed walls and the leviathan thrashing about them.

He hadn't quite figured out yet what he would do; he didn't have any sure fire plan to deal with invulnerable monsters like Zev Harcourt, other than pointing Navy in their general direction, nor had he figured out any means of even touching declan walsh.

He would just have to figure it out as things went along.

He felt a pulse at his feet, as well as a thrumming through his chest as he and Galatine communicated wordlessly.

His gaze snapped towards a vaguely familiar silhouette— Wolf. bryan delarosa.

His feet kicked below himself sharply, sending his Aegislash flying down, the blade swiftly spinning about to bring its shield to bare before throwing it in the Rocket beast's Silvally's path, erecting a barrier between Kyogre and the Heal block.

Kyogre remained integral to their plans— even if it ended up laying Sootopolis flat.

As for Wolf... last he checked, the man was an avatar. He was screaming 'Xerneas' pretty loudly.

Given councilwoman freya morningstar's orders...

Gwyar's sword flashed out of its sheath as he looked out towards the swimming younger man.

It'd been a while since he had tried spear fishing.

A beam of searing light launched out of the blade's tip as he pointed towards Bryan's back.

He was almost there, surely. Even his mantine could feel it. They were getting closer to Magikarp splash-perfection.

They were united as one in this chase for acrobatic perfection.

They were Fully synchro'd. This time, it was HAPPENING.

Worse yet— a pokeball was a near universally useful item, meaning the only reason anyone would ever get rid of one would be that it did not function.

That, or the person had lost their grip on it.

He could only hope that was the case for this one, otherwise he was literally just picking up litter from the beach.

Failure was the norm now, so much so it did not disturb his routine in the slightest. He rode the wave, the crashed into the wave, he recovered from the wave, and he rode the wave once again.

His mantine and him were united in their singular focus, the soreness of far too many bad landings long forgotten as their minds synchronized and centered on the only thing that mattered.
