HOW ARE THEY NOT FRIENDS YET?! (or maybe they are, and we just dont know it)

[break][break] about leo: he is a 25-year old su student who is a sophomore - he started a bit late because for a while he thought it would be better to stay home at olddale town (where he grew up) and do the blue collar work that his dad did. eventually he decided to go to school, and thats where he is now! tho he visits olddale town frequently for weekends and holidays. currently, he's a communications major with a minor in film, but that might change... reading it not leo's strongsuit. well, he's not bad at it - he just has adhd, and that makes things complicated.

[break][break] i could see them having shared maybe some general courses together? leo is part of the school's swim team and does intramural sports from time to time! he probably also hangs around the track field a lot (when schools are in session) even if hes not an Official member.

[break][break] leo is a person who is VERY friendly and also has absolutely 0 concept of personal space, so watch him run up to comigo (friend or not) and hug him and drape himself all over him. while leo is painfully demisexual, it could be fun if comigo crushed on him hehe (if u wanted) since u mention him being a Gay Tragedy tm

Angelo's response is carefree, which draws a laugh out of Leo. Though, privately, he is a bit jealous. School has never been his strong suit — not really because he isn't smart, but usually school involves a lot of reading. Once he buckles down and gets to the assignments, it's usually a breeze. Getting there... however...

[break][break] Leo shoves him playfully, taking no notice of the way the water splashes around them. "Jerk," he says, though there is an amused glint in his eyes. "I knew there was no way that you could call the exams easy." After all, the two were rivals for a reason.

[break][break] The mention of a gap year sparks a bit of interest in Leo, however, and the boy cocks his head to the side. "Wow, though. A gap year?" He isn't judgmental - just.. surprised. It personally never occurred to him to take one. His parents had worked so hard to help him pay for tuition, and he was their only son. The fact that he had even taken so long to decide to go to school... Maybe he should've kept his mouth shut, but Leo was never good at doing that. "Mind if I ask why?"

[break][break] He leans back, enjoying the warmth of the hot tub, when Angelo fields him another question. This time, it's his turn to grin shamelessly. "Hah, practice? Pfft, I don't need that. I'm just that good," he says, in the same mocking tone Angelo had used earlier, before pushing off against the rocks and wading deeper into the pool. He turns so that he is parallel to Leo, letting the water go just beneath his chin as he crouches. "Just kidding. I train a bit, but mostly, I'm just staying home. Spending time with the parentals." He winks. "You know how it is."

[break][break] Mama had nearly cried with relief when he'd come home, patting him all over and complaining that he looked too skinny, even though he was fairly sure he'd gained weight since the last time he'd been home. He blew some bubbles in the water, before looking up at Angelo again. "Actually - do you live with your parents?" Honestly - he couldn't remember.

[break][break] for real though, LOL, i'm not sure the dynamic these two would have since they seem to be opposite in almost every possible way. adrian screams edgy, and leo is pretty much the complete opposite of that. he grew up in a loving (or so he thinks...) family in olddale town and was pretty sheltered because of it. however, both his parents are immigrants and therefore poor.. so what they couldn't supply him with money, the supplied him with love.

There were no ghost pokemon, but there were surprises!

[break][break] He and Peanut had been just walking along a dirt path, observing the way that the snow glistened atop the bare branches of the surrounding trees, where there was a shadow that dropped from the sky and down his shirt! With a yelp of surprise, Leo fell off of his mount and onto the ground below. Luckily, a pile of snow cushioned his fall — some.

[break][break] His eyes were wide with surprise, and a bit of fear. What the hell?

[break][break] But the shadow turned out not to be a ghost pokemon but a Dedenne! But this one seemed like a different color than the one he'd caught earlier, and in it's tiny teeth grasped the half-eaten Poptart that Leo had hidden in his sweatshirt. It popped up right in front of Leo, its tiny ears twitching and looking adorable as heck, before disappearing once again. "Oh no you don't!" Leo said, reaching into his sweatshirt and prying the pokemon out.

[break][break] He had eaten all of his treat! Aw, he was saving that for later!

[break][break] With a huff, Leo pressed an empty pokeball to the tiny rodent. He was going to give him a stern talking to later, for sure!

"It's kind of nice, isn't it?" Leo mentioned, patting his pokemon on the side as they walked through the trail. Though it was still winter, there was something nice about looking at all the trees lined up on the path. It made Leo think about what the safari zone might look like in spring or summer, when the flowers would bloom again.

[break][break] There was a quiet that settled as Leo and Peanut took their hike along the path. It was getting to be pretty late, or at the very least, Leo was beginning to feel like he needed a nap. Stretching his arms over his head, he let out a yawn.

[break][break] As he did so, however, he spotted too apparations in the distance. At first, he was excited about the prospect of looking at new pokemon — however, upon closer look, he realized it was a few Duskull floating in the distance. He shuddered. Not that he was superstituious or anything... definitely not... but he still remembered the folktale his mother told him about Duskkull and Dusknoir when he was a kid, warning him not to go into the forest...

[break][break] He coughed. "C'mon, girl," he said, pulling slightly on Peanut's mane and gearing them towards a different part of the path, where he was sure no ghost pokemon would be.

+ "woah! do you see all those puppies?" leo grinned as he and peanut wandered upon the scene. he had just been doing his normal rounds between littleroot and oldale, doing errands for the locals in the area, when he spotted all the swarm.

[break][break] the college boy was quick to jump off of his zebstrika, and wanted to dash directly into the pokemon swarm, when there was an arm on his shoulder. he looked up to see officer jenny giving him a warning look. wild pokemon were dangerous, no matter how cute they looked.

[break][break] he gave her a pout. "aw, c'mon," he whined. "just for a little?"

[break][break] the officer looked at him, and then seeming to realize that he was probably going to do whatever he wanted, "fine, but if it gets hairy, i'm going to - " leo was already off and running. "your mother won't like this!"

[break][break] but it was too late. leo had already plopped down a few feet from the massive gathering, and the baby growlithe had spotted him. recognizing a friendly face, it was only a matter of time before three or four growlithe spotted him and promptly tackled him to the ground, which only made leo laugh as their fur tickled his face and they bombarded him with licks.

[break][break] the motion made him fall back, and a pokeball dislodge from his belt, potentially accidentally hitting one of the fire types in the process.
