With the old woman settled, and his hands washed from the garden work earlier, Flynn exits the bathroom wiping his hands with a towel. He'd found a few pieces of what he assumes is spare laundry in her room as well, and figures that it's best to hand it off to the laundry room... wherever that is. As he exits the bedroom, he sees a flash of platinum blond hair as avery jones joins in carrying the sleeping, baby pokemon to the next room. Careful not to get in her way, the man waits until she passes before navigating to the laundry room at the end of the hall.

[break][break] As he does so, he notices that Gwyar Wledig is already setting up the first load.

[break][break] "Wait, don't close it yet." He steps forward, managing to slide the grandmother's Pyroar t-shirt and Walrein-themed skirt into the wash as well. Pushing his hands against his knees, he stands up straight and it is only then does he notice that the other has a phone cradled between his neck. Was he asking for directions form someone..? Flynn arches a brow, but then decides not to be judgmental, quickly finding the detergent and softener and putting adequate measure of each inside the machine.

[break][break] He presses the button to START, and then, glancing upon the other, realizes that the other still had blood running down his face. Jesus christ. "Oh Kyogre, c'mere," he says, with a long suffering sigh, before attempting to grab the other's elbow to pull him closer. With another hand, he reaches for a damp cloth and attempts to dab it against the other's bloody forehead. "The hell is wrong with you?"

[break][break] somehow, he finds a first-aid kid in one of the bottom cabinets, and while they wait to move the clothes to the dryer, sets it on top of one of the machine. he snaps it open, reaching for an alcohol wipe, some antibiotic, and a hello purrloin bandaid. he then reaches over to try to apply them to the other's injuries. hopefully, the man will let himself be babied for a minute or two while the clothes are washed.

After the Magcargo disappeared in a flash of light, the pokeball shook three times before clicking closed, and Flynn let out a grunt. "They're an invasive species. The heat woulda burned through any healthy minerals in the sand, woulda made trouble for any Shellos in the area." Not to mention, they were a pain to have to deal with in case a tourist got too close and had them burned.

[break][break] As Thais Flores leaned into him, the off-shift police officer led them to the small fire that Flynn had started several minutes ago. Thankfully, the Magcargo hadn't bitten through all the coals and there were still several pieces of flintwood left to keep the fire going. Gingerly setting the woman down nearby the fire, enough to keep her warm but not enough to burn, he then looked around for the stray pokeball. Leaning over, he reached over to grab it and after minimizing it, clipped it to his utility belt. With a stray branch he picked up from the sand, he poked at the flames to re-ignite them and then threw it back into the fire. In his teal-colroed gaze, the image of the campfire flaring back to life gleamed.

[break][break] It had been only a moment, before there was a commotion at the rocks nearby. Flynn's head jerked towards it - but it was only Riptide and Niles coming back to shore. While the latter seemed as cheerful and innocent as usual, flapping his tail happily in the water like a golden retriever, the former had ...

[break][break] "Damn." The Krabby looked near-dead, not unlike the trainer who captured him with a spare pokeball. "Your Sharpedo did a number on it, huh."

[break][break] With that, Niles dipped back into the water, waving his back fin eagerly at his new companion to goad her into another chase. Liquid blue light swirled around him as he used AQUA JET to zoom forward, though the light quickly faded as a flew in from the sky and nearly clipped him in the face. The Sharpedo gave a small squeak, jerking backwards, probably crashing into Riptide on the way.

[break][break] Meanwhile, on shore, Flynn wore his signature scowl. Tiddies?

[break][break] "Haha," he said, voice deadpan. "Funny."

[break][break] Leaning down with a palm to brace himself, he dropped down onto the sand beside Thais. "Makes it easier to surf on the Sharpedo. It makes it faster." There was something about aerodynamics behind it, but honestly, that all escaped him. He'd never been much of a books person. His eyes were curious as they directed back at Thais, once she mentioned the S.S. Tidal. "If you're a part of their crew, what were you doing all out here? Ain't they still stationed at Slateport this time of the day?"

Generally speaking, Flynn was not a person who socialized. Much of his day consisted shuffling between his various part-time gigs, missions that Team Rocket sent him on, or his shifts at the Lilycove Precinct. Generally, this meant that his time very rarely deferred from the time he spent at Slateport or Lilycove. That was why it was pretty convenient that he was set up to meet Thais Flores at Slateport, and not some other city that he couldn't be bothered to drag his ass to.

[break][break] That still didn't mean he had to like the situation.

[break][break] Fortunately, something had cropped up at work that he'd had to deal with, so he hadn't been able to meet Thais Flores at their appointed meeting. He'd sent her a swift, yet non-descript text that she was supposed to meet him in the plaza, assuming that she would realize what it meant.

Patting down the left of the holes with a shovel, it looks like the task is complete. Flynn pushes his hands against his thighs to stand, glancing around at the expanse of trigs, branches and leaves that lay strewn about. The trees look only half-complete; however, before he can do anything, it seems that a redhead by the name of Zac Ramsay is quick to beat him to the punch.

[break][break] So, instead, Flynn bids adieu to Orion Lykos , and instead heads back into the house. With any luck, there are plenty of tasks to do. When he arrives, the house feels like chaos, and michiko maeda almost runs him over in her ascent up the staircase. She says something about soap before disappearing, nearly knocking into her grandmother who is walking - excruciatingly slowly - up the staircase. Flynn has a soft spot for grandmothers, reminded of his own, so he is quick to walk over to the shorter, older woman.

[break][break] "Ma'am," he says, his voice softer than it usually is. "Let me help you." In a swoop, he reaches under the woman's legs and attempts to lifts her into his arms bridal style, ascending the staircase in a few easy strides. Flynn finds the bedroom without preamble, and then sets her back down - carefully - back onto the carpet. He pats her hand. "Here you go, ma'am."

CINDERACE SWARM (BOVINE BLESSINGS)

It was not a usual sight — to find Flynn stray from his usual spot in Lilycove or the Team Rocket ship. That being said, there he was, climbing up the Fiery Path when he spotted the collection of Cinderace that had gathered there. Playing soccer.

He couldn't have helped it - not even if he wanted to.

He glanced at Thais Flores who had seemed to crash into a mess on the floor, tangled limbs at all, and walked over to her. He grinned at her, a shark-teeth worth of a smile, and his eyes were bright with ambition as he pushed his sleeves up to his elbows. "Let me show you how you're actually supposed to do it." He and Blue jumped onto the field, the Mightyena quickly capturing a spiraling ball with Thunder Fang and tossing it over to Flynn. The former Soccer captain dribbled it expertly between his legs, darting around the Cinderace and Scorbunny who chased him, and gave it a deft kick into the nearby goal.

As the goalkeeper Cinderace caught the crackling ball of heat in it's hands, Flynn followed up with a pokeball, spun just as fast through the air. Might as well give it a shot, while he was here.

"Yeah," he said, his tone bone-dry. "Johto is pretty far from here."

[break][break] Blue glanced at him briefly. Was that a joke? No one would know it from the impartial way that he spoke, from the way that his brows pinched together like someone had just shit in his boots, but Blue could tell. They had been together for the better half of two decades, after all.

[break][break] His brow arched as she mentioned her seafaring adventures. "So you're a treasure hunter?" he asked, blinking. It wasn't that he was exactly impressed - but it wasn't like he wasn't either. Even though Lilycove had their fairshare of seafaring folk, it was something that Flynn had always admired, since they could do things that he couldn't. They could travel, they could chase their dreams; they weren't chained to the land because of circumstances that were beyond them.

[break][break] Like he was.

[break][break] "Oh," he said, when he referred to his Sharpedo. He glanced sideways at the two sharks that were still floating a few miles in from the shoreline, and then back at her. A laugh, surprisingly and unwillingly, burst forth. "Yeah, I guess. That is pretty dope." If she liked Sharpedo, that meant that she was good in his books. Not that, of course, he would ever willingly admit it. "Though," he said, with a bit of a twinkle in his eye, a bit of a reminder of the charm that he used to have. "I think you might want to work on that, if you're going to crash every time."

[break][break] Meanwhile, while Thais was pulling out a side of Flynn that had once been long forgotten, Niles was doing what he did best. Making friends! The older Sharpedo turned a red eye towards him, and he was unafraid. If he was a dog, he might have wagged his tail. Instead, he smiled blithely back at her and made a happy sound as she booped him back, zipping circles around her as she swam away from the water's edge. He was eager to play with a new friend, whatever games she wanted to play.

[break][break] Flynn let out a bit of a sigh, though retrained, at the sight of it. Niles could be exhausting sometimes, but at least it wasn't his problem for now.

[break][break] At the mention of Christopher, the Team Rocket Grunt sent an annoyed look towards her. The former joking Flynn had closed up like a Cloyster clamping it's shell, returning to the grumpy-old-man-guarding-his-lawn person that he'd been before. "It's Flynn," he said, voice clipped.

[break][break] As Flynn folded his arms, Blue was careful to befriend the injured sailor. She preferred women anyway, which was apparent as she wagged her tail slowly behind her. Though, as friendly as she looked, the reality was probably starkingly different. She was probably taking intel on Thais Flores , secretly, while getting the other to open up. Unlike the Flynn of now, she was good at it.

[break][break] Speaking of, her trainer folded his arms. Though, he looked a little bit less irritated then a few seconds earlier. His eyes had softened at the mention of Thais naming her pokemon at 13, since it reminded him of how he had gotten Blue as a puppy. "It's fine," he said, and was about to help her stand up, when there was a sound behind him.

[break][break] Flynn jerked his head.

[break][break] "Fucking - " A Magcargo had wandered a bit too close to the campfire and was munching up all the charcoal and flint. His eyes were sharp, as they look at Blue. The Mighyena, however, was quick on her feet. She dropped Thais like a hot potato and leaped towards the wild pokemon, her gaze sharpening into a flash of red as she used Scary Face to immobilize the pokemon. The fire-type turned it's head towards her, first stunned at her appearance, and then stunned by her attack. Her jaws clamped around the pokemon's in a vicious Crunch, just in the same minute that Flynn tossed a pokeball. The item made a smooth arc in the sky before opening up and trying to envelop the pokemon in it's light to attempt capture.

[break][break] With a sigh, Flynn turned his head towards her. "Coulda ruined my campfire," he said with a grunt. Macargo weren't exactly pests, but it was known among the townfolk that they caused enough problems to become an annoyance. He leaned down, attempting to grab her shoulder to pull her upright. "Lean on me, if you hafta."

[break][break] He walked over towards the campfire.
