She didn’t know him well enough to truly have an opinion of him which was actually quite lucky for him. The little she’d seen of him had been within another rift alongside jayden cross and Marza Volchitsa. He seemed . . . competent. But competency did not equate to trust. In fact, his position as an admin made him less trustworthy in her experience.

Every now and then, a wary gaze would flick to her left, studying the man before moving back to scan the strange mist of Ultra Deep Space for signs of opposition. She shifted the bag on her back, a decoy Seal Stone to attract League attention from the others. A hand always drifted close to her belt, brushing the smooth exterior of a sphere as if making sure they were still there.

The intel was from a questionable source, one Lex did not necessarily trust. Then again, it was difficult to find anyone the Beast trusted. The nature of the cargo was also not clear. Was it a Seal Stone? Medical supplies? Paradox Pokemon? Honestly, it mattered little. Lex had a job, and that job was to take it for Team Rocket.

She laid her trap: a series of STICKY GLOBS meant to hinder whoever it was that came down this particular route. Now, all she had to do ws bide her time and see who the unfortunate Leaguer was.

This was far more dangerous than any they had ventured to before. In fact, Lex considered it more frightening than The Borders. More than just malicious pokemon roamed this pink mist. Demons hidden deep within their souls would find purchase in this space between worlds and haunt them relentlessly.

“I hate it here,” she growled beneath her breath, a puff of the pink mist stirring beneath it. Her amber gaze stole a quick glance towards jayden cross to assess his comfort level within the INTERDREAM ZONE. Whatever budding alliance they had prior to The Borders was erased in an instant, and her wary gaze and distance between them displayed her mistrust in her current partner.

Somewhere between worlds the INTERDREAM ZONE leaked into them both. The pink mist curled and bounced and moved as if it had a mind of its own. It was unsettling. The mist grew so thick, it seemed impenetrable at times. Within it, there were demons and monsters like they had never seen. These monsters could either be used for the glory of Rocket, or not. Their job was to do a little reconnaissance and decide if they could be extracted and tamed, “Watch your back,” she warned, not bothering to give the grunt a moment’s glance. The Beast was far too concentrated on inspecting their surroundings. The eerie cry of foreign pokemon seem to come from everywhere all at once. It was only a matter of time before the hunters became the hunted.

The soft smile on her dark lips twitch slightly as his digital masks curls into a happy grin. Again, with the thematics. She rolled her eyes, sometimes she couldn’t stand her colleagues’ choices.

“Been better,” she replies, casting her amber gaze out into the strange fog of the Ultra Deep Sea. Her brow does rise in curiosity as he explains the decoy cargo, “Hm, how interesting,” she spares a glance at the box for a moment, “And they fall for it?” idiots.

“I just finished fighting my way to get in here,” The League officers were such an annoyance, “I was patching up my pokemon before heading out to try and steal a Seal Stone,” she had intel on a particular Ranger transporting one that was due for some swift revenge.

Something caught her eye out in the fog. Her body grew tense, a hand hovering over her belt, “Are you sure they didn’t follow you?”

Ghostly chains cracked against the pavements as they missed the retreating Salamence, “FUCK!” Lex snapped, a fist painfully crashing against the grating of the fire escape she was perched on. She hated leaving without a prize.

A swift few moves brought her back down to the pavement. She returned the weary Dhelmise and banished the Shadow Gardevoir back to the phantom realm, stifling her disappointment for now. She had work to do - and Seal Stone to steal. She lunged forward, back on her original course before she was interrupted by the masked man.

A low, genuine laugh echoed through her throat. She did love a good bit of banter, as long as it ended with them under her boot on the floor. She sure did love to step on people.

The Whirlpool provided some obstacles, but the Magmar managed to make it through with a FEINT ATTACK. The dark aura knocked the ship’s helm back. With a sickening crack, and a low groan, the anchor fell to the cavern floor unconscious.

“Hmph,” she Beasts grunted, returning the ghost to trade it out for another, “I guess I can’t fuck around with you, huh?”

A splash of crimson calls War forward. The ghostly stallion snorts, phantom hooves not making a sound as they stepped across the rocky terrain. The mythical pokemon wasted no time. Their Powerful limbs pushed them forward into sprint, where it would attempt to BULLDOZE right through the Magmar.

A satisfied cackle choked out of the pokemon’s throat as it watched the Zoroarak slump unconscious to the floor of the alley. The shadow pokemon moved forward with every intention to finish the job and absorb the dark-type’s soul into the phantom world. Her focus made her vulnerable, and the STEEL WING came as a surprise.

A loud, horrible scream of both pain and anger echoed off the alley’s stone walls. The ghost disappeared into the shadows when knocked back, giving both trainer and pokemon some breathing room for a moment. The Dhelmise reappeared from their PHANTOM FORCE opposite where it originally was. It’s anchor groaned again as the rusty, brittle chains lashed out again to try and seal them in place with another ANCHOR SHOT.

The shuffle of boots can be heard coming up alongside him. Lex peers down between messy sheets of red hair, “Hello, Neon,” she purrs in a rather mocking tone, “Are you actually moving a Seal Stone?”

The Beast’s amber gaze snaps ferociously over to Amor when he interrupts her work. It holds a clear unmistakable threat, “That’s why I’m only doing it to one,” but it doesn’t matter. He moves along with his extractions which proves just as effective. Though successful,s he refuses to give him credit solely based on the anger and grudge she clings to.

They squeal like Lechonk. Lex slowly moves towards the one that begs for their life by transforming into a rat. She leans close, so close her warm breath tickles his face uncomfortably. She can smell the sweet fear wafting off of him. She takes a deep, cleansing breath. It exits between her teeth as her voice dips low into a purr, “Are you sure that’s all you have to offer us?” for a moment her gaze moves to the other officer at their side. The chains pull tighter, and they squeal in distress, “How about you?” she asks the last one with their wits about them, “Only one of you is leaving alive so unless you can offer us something more valuable than his information it’s not looking good for you.”

The pop of electricity provides snaps of color to the otherwise dull and dark world of the Deep Sea. The Shadow Gardevoir hisses out in retaliation as she is hit with the VOLT SWITCH. Her clawed hands lash out to nab the kitten, but the secondary effects of the attack suck them back into their pokeball.

She’s presented with a new target. As the SPOTLIGHT fades and darkness once again settles, so too does the Shadow Gardevoir. She sneaks into the darkness and their shadow crawls across the rocky terrain. She’s suddenly behind the Quaquaval and her ghastly appendages are lashing out with the full power of SHADOW SNEAK.

The Salamence’s flames follow the chains up to the body of the phantom controlling them. The fire hisses and pops against the moist weeds draped over the ghost’s wooden hull. The seaweed writhes in pain, curling and screeching as the fire overwhelms the ghost. Their chains break and with a sharp screech of rusted gears, they retract back into the Dhelmise with a snap. The pokemon retreats into a PHANTOM FORCE to regain its composure and assess the dragon through the veil between worlds.

A rather harsh, guttural choke of frustration cracks from the Shadow Pokemon’s throat when the HYPNOSIS fails. Her concentration on the human left her open to assault by the SLUDGE BOMB.

The attack would have any normal Gardevoir reeling in pain as the corrosive sludge ate away and their sensitive skin. This Gardevoir hardly seemed phased. The viscous slime dripped from her bodice like ectoplasm from a wound. Her GHOSTLY skin hardly appeared affected aside from the occasional hiss of corrosion that felt more like a tiny Weedle sting.

The ghost shifted her attention back to her attacker, pressing another palm forward to blast the Zoroarak with DAZZLING GLEAM.
