"hating it changes nothing. they won kanto fighting unfairly and they'll win here if you don't adapt. you have to compromise your morals, your values, and stoop down to their level because that's the only way you'll stand a chance.

"and i don't mean putting civilians in harm's way. i mean fighting as aggressively as they do, not showing mercy, and being as ruthless."

if civilians die in the process, then so be it. he would raze towns and cities defending them if it meant they walk away victorious because towns and cities can always be rebuilt, but only if allowed to.

it's different to be told pieces of a life once lived than to remember it altogether. it loses its meaning — the heart of what makes those pieces more than that. he knows that no matter how much he may long for kyle to remember, there would be no bringing back that life.

perhaps that life never existed in the first place, as kyle immediately mentioned the moment they returned to hoenn.

only after the MAGICAL LEAF is presented and placed on the palm of his hand does he circle back to his missed greeting, delivering it with a smile: "hi."

as he has done time and time before, he tosses the MAGICAL LEAF, watching it slice through the air to conjure a gust of wind that breezes past them, and after a blink of an eye, VIRIZION appears out a green blur that ripples in their peripherals.

"i hear you've found yourself a new knight."

he places his palm on the sword of justice's forehead, then chuckles as he glances over at his friend.

"sorry, another knight."
