River's and Lykaios's pokemon were keeping the giratina at bay. However, the insufferable roars that the beast emitted was a reminder that it was only a matter of time before it caught up with them. The biggest concern on Asriel's mind was everyone being sucked into the reverse world, figuring the simulation would be over if they were caught in giratina's realm. Failure would be unacceptable, this was a prime opportunity to make a name for himself. To showcase the skills he had been honing to the higher-ups, hoping it could reach his father. They would not fail.

The decision to relocate to Sootpoolish Gym was quick thinking on Lykaios's part. The luxray sprints faster rushing towards the gym and within moments it was in sight. Despite the chaotic battlefield that they found themselves in Sootpoli gym appeared to be untouched, they were lucky. Asriel steps off from the luxray, the pain from his leg shooting up again but he does his best to suppress it. Forcing the door open he rushes inside, closing them shut once everyone arrives.

"Smart call on the gym." He directs the small compliment towards Lykaios with heavy breathes. Asriel places his hand on his chest to try and calm his breathing. "We somehow managed to get away from the time being.. but I find it highly unlikely to defeat Giratina. " Asriel admits clearly dissatisfied with his lack of strength once again he meets the gaze of his teammates.

So.. any thoughts or ideas?" Asriel had an idea in mind, but he considered it to be risky. Unless there were no other options he didn't plan on giving them the details.

Continuing to monitor the battlefield. The beedrill returns inside the building to its trainer to notify him of the others approaching the building. Quickly understanding the situation Asriel's expression turns grim. It was a poor decision on their part to come to his aide, however, Asriel did have to accept that this entire predicament was due to his error.

It was a struggle but Asriel managed to slowly get back up. After the beedrill confirms the location of his team Asriel cautiously approaches, close enough to hear River's warning he notifies them of his presence by verbally agreeing with River. "While I appreciate the concern, you don't need to trouble yourselves with me. Grunting with pain as he drags his injured foot behind him.

An ominous presence behind them sends shivers down his back. The presence alone was enough to tell him that giratina had located them, "Quick go!" He shouts at them and swiftly swaps his beedrill for his luxray. Asriel could feel the Shadow Breathe further sap away at his energy.

With another heavy groan he manages to climb onto the luxray and it also begins to flee from the giratina. Following the others lead.

It happened all so quickly. Asriel didn't have time to prepare himself as the team is quickly transported into a simulation, a chaotic battlefield. Stunned at how realistic everything seemed, he was unable to comprehend reality from the simulation. Asriel is slow to react to a nearby explosion, falsely assuming that he couldn't be injured in a simulation.

Clearly he was a fool.

Luckily due to the Tailwind of River's butterfree, Asriel manages to escape the explosion by a hair. Taking a tumble he finds cover inside a nearby building, the infrastructure was crumbling away due to the fierce battlefield but it'd work for the time being. His breathing becomes heavy and his senses are disoriented due to the impact. Quickly realizing that his left leg was shredded by shrapnel from the explosion. Letting out a pained groan his pain intensifies while removing the shrapnel from his injury. The blood flow sharply increasing with it removed. Asriel then acts swiftly ripping off a sleeve of his shirt to wrap tightly around his leg to prevent further blood loss. He sighs uneasily, the pain he felt was very much real. Asriel had no idea that rocket was capable of producing such powerful simulations.

His attention returns to the mission with the sound of another distant explosion. While this was clearly not a good start, Asriel would not let this hinder him from the teams success. Separated from the team he pulls out his beedrills pokeball, quickly sending it out to the warzone to locate the others.

The beedrill does so with relative ease and quickly reports back to Asriel. Who decides the best thing to do for the time being was to stay put and wait for the action of his team.

Managing his temper was no easy task, especially with hooligans such as Ruby and Belial hanging around him and his father. His eye burns with rage hearing their response however Asriel keeps his cool, knowing that there was no point arguing with fools. His father's plan works like a charm and the hooligans manage to act as decoys luring the volcanion away from them.

However they were not out of the woods just yet. Once again a horrible high pitched screech echoes through the castle walls and within a blink a giant shadow looms over the two of them. Asriel's eyes widen once the realization hit him, a hydreigon hovered over them menacingly, it's three heads roared in unison which shook the ground beneath them.

Asriel's never seen such an enormous hydregion before but he couldn't admire it as it was already going on the offensive, channeling a Dragon pulse Asriel reacts quickly pushing his father out of harms way. Quickly summoning the shadow riolu his father entrusted him with. The riolu has been well trained under Asriel's care and quickly counters the hydreigon's attack with a frenzy plant.

Asriel stares at the screen with a blank look. Aware as other grunts answer the question without much hesitation he silently wonders why he was having doubts about answering the question, if he really would be able to proceed with this doubt clouding his mind.

He's slow on coming to a decision, frowning once the screen beeped at him a reminder of his failure to decide. Asriel really didn't care to much as the monotone voice rambled on about legendaries. He was more focused on how he was now apart of a three man squad, zoning on his name his eyes squinted at the other two. Both being people he didn't recognize.

Sighing heavily he worried about how their dynamic would play out, he was much more of a solo carry if anything. Peering through the countless faces, Asriel notices someone sticking out from the rest mainly due to him announcing his identity very clearly with the name tag.

He approaches discretely, realizing that he was the last one to show up. "Name's Asriel" the introduction is brief and simple, he observes both men quickly formulating his own judgement about them.

There was an upset in rocket headquarters following the battle of ultra deep sea. And that was the reveal of Gavin Merlino's true identity, Cillian Quinn. Asriel has always kept his distance from the underboss, their interactions were brief and unmemorable. Having never cared much about identities in the first place, he was unbothered by the big reveal that seemed to shake core rocket members.

Having never stepped foot in the high offices, Asriel felt the nerves bubbling inside him. Losing against Reshiram's avatar and the other rangers had shaken him, causing him to lose confidence. Knowing he needed to rebuild himself Asriel decided to finally approach the man he had always looked up to in the organization

A week since the battle of ultra deep sea had passed. Having sustained heavy injuries during the clash, his body was rigorously wrapped with bandages. The worst of his injuries are severe burns which covered most of his upper back and chest, inflicted by the league's very own head ranger Raziel Beckett.

Having been confined to the medical bay for a few days now, Asriel steadily regained his strength back. With a heavy moan he stumbles out of it softly creaks as he does so. Still wobbly on his feet Asriel heads towards the door and slowly makes his way down the hall,

News of Fern's condition reached Asriel's ears. He saw no harm in going to check up on him, it was the least he could do. Reaching the door to the main care unit Asriel pushes the door open. However he quickly loses balance and tumbles onto the floor, gasping out in agony as all the pain rushes through his body again.

Everything changed once the sliding doors opened.

Beyond the doors was a forbidding chamber void of everything besides an abundance of screens, monitors and cameras. The voice causes Asriel to halt, surprisingly he finds himself hesitating to move forwards. His injuries were still very much tender from ultra deep sea, the humiliating defeat when encountering ollie morales Raziel Beckett and annalise henderson still fresh on his mind. While they succeeded with their objective, could they truly count it as a victory?

Thoughts break away from him as fellow grunts push and shove into him, forcing Asriel deeper into the S.P.E.C.T.R.A. HOLO-DECK. Biting his lips from the pain he felt each time someone forcefully collided into him, he slips past the crowd he notices that Ruby Garcia was also apart of the examination. Paying no attention to her, Asriel walks towards wall and leans against while pondering,
