Every word spoken by is heard, carefully studied, and judged, and by the time the Rocket Boss is done speaking, there’s a sour taste in Mars’ mouth. Why rely on the League’s plan and then sabotage one of their key primal points? Why not strike a couple of reserve ones? Even after clarification, it just doesn’t seem right. Mars gives a measured look, wondering if their thoughts align. 'Be careful.' He seems so say.

It’s like Walsh wants to trick them into messing up the League’s plan.

What if Walsh is working with the Dark Triad?

It could be argued that Boreas has earned this. After dealing with coming to the Safari Zone again and again, after being good and mostly targeting only the pokémon Mars asks him to target, this is where they can finally put things to an end… for this month, at least.

This time, he takes a video, but it’s as if this damn Eevee has a death wish or something. It runs and jumps around in the field, unbothered and unaware of any potential harm awaiting it. Even when the Braviary circles overhead and screeches.

Usually, Mars wouldn’t really care if Boreas decides to harass the weak and useless wild pokémon, but in this case, there’s one particular reason to prevent it from happening:

The fact that the Inkay decides to “attack” Kepler comes as no surprise. Mars had expected it from the beginning and it’s why his Hatterene had been released as a precaution.

Still, as should perhaps also be expected, at first the underboss is in no rush to act, and neither is the witch-like pokémon that stands by his side. It’s only when Kepler screams his name in despair that Mars gives a simple nod, and just like that, Atropos reaches to free the little scientist from the shadow’s hold. It happens mere seconds before Oizys’ sharp beak bites Kepler’s nose.

The Hatterene easily overpowers the struggling squid, holding it down. She allows for the bleeding to be stopped, and once this is done, Oizys is sent back to a Luxury Ball’s confines. All in all, it could have been worse. At least there was no SHADOW STORM.
