Onyx is correct, Paxton would be the one League operative that would attempt to murder a disguised Rocket in public. And he'd done it before during a speed dating event. But he doesn't recognize Onyx, thankfully. Perhaps he's too tired to, rushing from pitch to pitch to fight his way through his list of matches randomly assigned to him. [break][break]

There's the slightest lull in battle. A sense of rejuvenation as a familiar light pink mist surrounds them, intermingling with Joules' own ELECTRIC TERRAIN. "I'd also want a stopper for personnel here. I've been having a lot of difficult conversations lately. People don't understand what they're getting into until it's too late." "Noted." he said as he opened a drawer and pulled out some coffee pods. He began to deposit one into his coffee machine, before gently setting Penny's mug underneath. "Anything else in it?" he asked softly, as he began to dump his own preferences into his own cup and setting a fresh pod next to it before turning to give Penelope his full attention. [break][break]

He moved back to his desk, glancing back at his boss before opening the folder and beginning to skin through it. "Oh...shit." he murmured as he saw the various names listed and the information shared. [break][break]

"What the fuck is a dual avatarship?" he asked, countering his boss immediately. "How is it even possible? And both freya morningstar and FERNANDO SILPH confirmed this?" he asked eyebrows scrunching together in concern as he tried to wrap his mind around it. The coffee poured and the steam curled up from the mug before letting out a small ping that it was done. He walked it to Penny before going back to setting up his own mug. [break][break]

"Project Sapphire is about to get cut, permanently." he reminded Penny. "Scope's too big, personnel aren't accounted for. Ever since he'd come back from leave after the RESURFACED TREASURES incident, he'd been hard at work catching up with his work load. Every second of the day had been spent reading and annotating things in his inbox, skimming and redelegating reports he received for further investigation to others in the department, or doing his best to write good synopses of things ready for PENELOPE LIVY 's review. [break][break]

Safe to say, he'd spent a few long nights in the office, but it was worth it to catch up on the work load. Especially when he needed to delegate extra to the rest of their staff. And things only got more complicated if you included all the time he got sent out in the field to check on Kyogre's primal progress. That, and his meetings with the Council had been the most stressful of all. [break][break]

The sudden knocking gives him pause, and he sets aside a few files after setting down a couple of stickies to hold his place. This didn't sound like something he could turn away. "Come in." he said before straightening up as Penny walked in. [break][break]

"Ok, our uniforms then." he said as she stepped closer to him. "Seems a little more hostile than the MECHANICAL KINGDOM." he added as he kept pace with her. He begins to tread with care. The ground has giant...weird cables that run for miles. What was it powering? Where was it taking power from? Or was it all the thunderstorms that plagued this place. No rain too. Just lightning and storm clouds. [break][break]

He gestures at a small box like structure jutting out from the earth. "Look! Looks abandoned but...maybe it'll have something left in it to tell us more about this place." he said stopping when Callie tells him to. [break][break]

He scoffs at her antics before taking to the station. The door is heavy, but he managed to push it through. The Trevenant snarled, angry and loud as the flames licked it. It's lone eye locks on where the nest of Littens had been and when he sees Paxton scooping one sleepy kitty after the other the ghost type screams, something shrill that echoed throughout the forest. It summons a FOREST'S CURSE onto the Charizard, before rushing in with a POISON JAB at the Charizard. [break][break]

Paxton for his part does his best to grab overly relaxed cats but the third one hisses and scratches at him, upsetting the fourth. The cat cries, as Paxton attempts to grab the slow cat. "They're not making this easy for me." he said back to Seiya before looking up at him. [break][break]

"If he keeps coming that hard, yeah-" Once again the kittnes in the carrier all begin hissing and mewling. The last Litten backs away from the litter already trapped biting down as Paxton reached out for them. "They're feral and they hate this!"
