What was it about Elisabeth that made conversation flow so freely? As loose as the liquid had poured from her teacup, words found their way out of his lips. He'd only ever met her before briefly, and now only for an hour at most. But she felt comfortable in a way that wasn't common for him; it put him at ease. Was that why he found it so simple to discuss things he'd never discussed before - like his past?[break][break]

"I grew up in Castelia city, then moved to Slateport, so... I never really had a choice about being into cities. I kind of hate them, though - there's always someone doing something somewhere, and you blend in all the time" Which had it's uses, admittedly, when one worked within team Rocket. But it would be nice to live somewhere that he felt he actually existed.[break][break]

He watches her produce the little seed from it's delicate bag. New beginnings... he raises a brow and looks a little closer. "I don't know it. Is it pretty?"[break][break]

Izzy knew far too well about the league's inability to help - it had done nothing for him in Unova when he had to go a day without eating once a week so as to not blow the family budget. And it did nothing now, where he was forced to work under the most terrifying people he'd ever met just to stop his debt from getting bigger. And if he reached out, asked for help? They'd only stick him in jail somewhere, take away his pokémon, ruin his life once again. Everything was fucked.[break][break]

He didn't, though, have too much experience with reporters, though miss Fiorelli before him certainly seemed to have her opinions on them. "I imagine they just make everything up to sell shit" He replies. "Which isn't fair on anyone..."[break][break]

He doesn't know her situation or her past, nor would he like to - knowing history of his fellow grunts only made things harder when someone inevitably got killed by some overexuberant league asshole during a mission or something. But she chooses her words in a way that reminds him of himself, when discussing something that hurts more than he wans to let on.[break][break]

"Actions? Pft. Non-actions, more like"[break][break]

He finishes the last drops of tea and places the cup in front of him. "...This has been really nice" And, just barely, he offers her an underused smile, like rusty cogs turning for the first time. "I should probably get back, but... yeah. Really nice. If you ever need me to hang out or anything, y'know, again...?"

Ghosts weren't ooky-spooky poltergeists like in the movies, as far as Izzy was concerned - they were pokémon with sad little stories that had died and turned into a tree stump or whatever. There was enough to be afraid of in the sub without thinking about actual demons and unspoken horror monsters living amongst them, too.[break][break]

"Nah, it's just... you really believe all that?"[break][break]

He rubs his wrist a little as she separates from him, checking out some corner that might be perfect for a lonely trouble-making ghost to burrow its way into, only for Jessie to call out something again.[break][break]

"Hm? Ball?"[break][break]

He looks over and catches it rolling along, tilts his head for a sec, then frowns at her.[break][break]

"Har har, very funny."[break][break]

Playing a joke on him by talking about spooky movie monsters then making it look like the courtyard's haunted? Oldest trick in the book.

Izzy remembers this night, too, practically right outside his apartment window, and having it here even in holographic form is difficult. But this was only the beginning, Izzy knew, and if he was going to change anybody's mind about him up there in those fancy stands, he was going to have to disguise the stress as he always had. Swallow it down, stand up straight.[break][break]

It's klaus anchoret who takes charge first. An ultra beast, he says - another one? He almost questions it, but ana fell speaks his mind before he does.[break][break]

"...I can Crafty Shield, if we need it, but for now it seems like we've got a good moment to head straight there. This is before everything... happened"[break][break]

He looks around at happy, digital faces; laughing and joking with their digital loved ones. It feels kind of perverse to use a real - and not even that far past - event as training. Then again, it wasn't as if Rocket usually steered clear of boundaries.[break][break]

Before following, he looks to Elisabeth Fiorelli. Impenetrable will and stress begone, sure, but she meant a little more to him than he could have said about the others (BARNABY FINCH notwithstanding, but that was it's own can of worms). [break][break]

How had it become this?! Bee was here to help him tidy up, he'd brought eclairs, scrubbed his kitchen. Now they were tumbled and merged on the couch, and here was Bee pulling down his sweatpants and making Izzy so revealed in front of him, like he'd never been in front of someone else before. To have so little covering him up made him feel vulnerable, but it was a good kind of vulnerable.[break][break]

"Fuck..." He breathes out, looking down and then forcing himself to look away fast - he couldn't keep his gaze on Barnaby's hand so close to... him. Not without melting even further. Everything ached with need, and when Bee asked if he wanted him to, Izzy nearly shouted out YES before even having a chance to think.[break][break]

But he bit his tongue, and gave himself that tiny millisecond to think. Tiny, briefest of milliseconds that felt like hours as he remained wrapped in Bee's embrace, with everything pulled up or pulled down to leave him so open and so visibly needing.[break][break]

"I... A-Arceus, Bee, I..." He looks up at the taller man through his lashes, cheeks so delightfully pink. Would it be so wrong to say yes? To let him do whatever he wants? Touch him, hold him, take complete control over him? Wouldn't it be nice to just... give in? As he lays there and breathes deeply, he almost does, but there's that nagging feeling too. Bee should know, however embarrassing it is. A frustrated whine slips out of his lips, much lewder sounding than his usual grumbles.[break][break]

"I... I just..." He sighs, and looks deep into Bee's eyes. Anxiety be damned, he would make eye contact for this, if he was so willing to give himself up in this way. "I've never... I haven't... ah..." He swallows the lump in his throat hard. "I've never done that. O-or... or... anything, really. At-- uh, at all..."[break][break]

Like the sailor dropping young girls into the riptides to ward off the wrath of the kraken before sail. Was Spectrier his virginal gift? Was Martín del Mar his terror of the depths? El demonio del Mar.[break][break]

"You’d give me a legendary pokémon and ask for nothing in return?"[break][break]

Izzy looks up at him, his fingers finding one another in a way to calm himself slightly. As anxious as he often feels around the admin before him, this isn't as bad as it has been in the past. He was sure of himself, now - he hadn't been, before. So rarely confident, even when taking a walk on Mt. Pyre, but when gifting a creature spoken about in ancient folklore to a man he barely knew... there wasn't a doubt in his mind.[break][break]

"I know you could, but I..." I don't want any more blood money from Rocket. "...I want to earn my own money. It wouldn't feel right to get that from... from Spectrier. It was kind to me, so I want to... return the favour."[break][break]

His gaze drifts again to the ball in admin del Mar's hand. Inside it lies the horse that had haunted his dreams and yet calmed his mind. Maybe it was a lesson he had to learn, and Spectrier had to teach it to him.[break][break]

"...I think it deserves to go with someone who knows what to do with it. Like you, admin."

Izzy was starved for touch. Between having never dated, and barely even being hugged by his family so much as touched by anyone else, Izzy craved this kind of thing like a plant reached it's leaves ever skywards in search of the sun. He derived some kind of self-worth from the concept of being touched, and it's lack meant a lack of confidence. A therapist would really have a field day with him.[break][break]

In the meanwhile, his mind is too full up with thoughts of Bee's hands and lips to think too much about anything else. Izzy's scooped up like he's feather-light, and carried swiftly to the couch, where he's then put down and leant over as the kisses only continue, ever-falling like a waterfall across his lips, his jaw, his neck. The attention leaves him love-drunk, so caught up in the moment that he forgets to be anxious, even.[break][break]

With Barnaby's weight hovering over him, he moans into the kisses and doesn't care enough to get embarrassed at the sound. It's like bliss, almost, where he can't feel that everlasting shame and anxiety that he always sticks with.[break][break]

Briefly.[break][break]

As Barnaby's hands travel southward and he feels them warm against his own warmth, he freezes up. Izzy tenses, his grip on Bee getting a little tighter, and a different noise escapes his mouth now. Not a moan, whine or a plead like previously, but more of a shocked squeak.[break][break]

"B-Bee, sorry, I... s-sorry-" He apologises profusely, pushing some hair out of his face and revealing cheeks as red as sunset. "You... uh... you just, um... touched..."[break][break]

He didn't doubt that Bee was well aware of what he'd just touched- but Izzy's panic had overshadowed momentarily his want. This is what people did at this point, when they'd kissed this much and this hungrily. It was a natural next step... so why did he have to be so damn nervous?

Izzy sits for an few quiet moments as he recounts in his mind the strange week he's had. Sleepless nights, constant thoughts of the creature on the mountain. Spectrier, he now knows it as, calling him to it again and again. Like something out of some old fairy tale.[break][break]

"I found a pokémon - or, well, I caught it. I don't think..." He chews the words for a second before letting them out "...I just don't think I'm the right kind of trainer for it. It's... powerful. Something that you could-- eh, you could probably put to use. For rocket, and all that"[break][break]

He pulls the luxury ball from his bag and gently puts it on the desk, closer to Mars than to himself. He hates that gaze that the admin stares down at him with, like a hungry shark.[break][break]
