the way the barrier is described to her is curious. maybe she should have pushed harder to see it, or maybe taken captain out in the middle of the night to have a look without prying league eyes. but at the time, she was trying to do well. she was still technically half representing FERNANDO SILPH at the time, after all.[break][break]

as for what she found while on the dig with her sibling...[break][break]

"no, not really. i mean, they thought it was gonna be a real big discovery, y'know? and then it just ended up being bones of pokémon we already know. which, they're always on the look out for getting those fossils and trying to recreate the pokémon before giving them a new home."[break][break]

but beasts like that? they usually ended up on their own islands jurassic park style.[break][break]

one can almost make out the little ! that appears above her head when she sees the gun come out. it's happened before, a gun pointed at her. she's even been shot before. the scar stings, right side of her ribcage.[break][break]

there's an ache where that scar is and then a flash of red. a very large aerodactyl shape of red. as tilly forms, she bows up and flexes her muscles toward the individual holding a gun at her trainer. her screech is meant to make the man shoot her or piss himself; his choice.[break][break]

"tilly don't! louie, stop!"[break][break]

francie's orders fly from her mouth quickly. for louie had turned rom the noivern and was running toward the trainer with the guy. his body slid to a halt, however, growl low and menacing. tilly's body is still in a stature of intimidation. and while she might not have the ability, the circumstance is certainly enough to give her the element.[break][break]

climbing atop the aerodactyl, francie keeps all of her vitals behind a part of tilly. because ever inch is thick enough to protect her from a bullet. all but her head, of course.[break][break]

"i understand your situation, but i'm in a similar pickle. i can't leave the tower without canceling the communication.[break][break]

"but i mean, nobody told me how long the communication had to be cut out for. maybe, five minutes?"[break][break]

certainly they could both win, right?

it's a pang that's familiar to her. it's a pang she usually felt when FERNANDO SILPH used to spot her nearly a mile away at an event and gave her a smile or a wave. acknowledgement. doesn't make sense for that feeling to belong to anybody else.

so why then does her stomach feel like it's got all sorts of butterfree and beautifly swarming around inside?

there's no way in hell she would have ever thought she'd see somebody like MATIAS SILPH say 'okie dokie' but it makes her all the more comfortable being around him. after all, she says okie dokie all the time![break][break]

"yep!" chipper as always, she bounces over to the small station and pulls the checklist up, holding it out to the other.[break][break]

"got it all checked off."[break][break]

louie is back up the wall, a rock climb again allowing him to climb up to the top of the tower, shaking his pelt free of debris. a small puff of dust forms around him before he walks over and plops down to sit on his haunches nest to his trainer.

"right!" she agrees, a salute in her tone as she does pretty well the same thing as mr. maher does. she moves her heels and shifts her weight, moving to pat tilly and whistle.[break][break]

her orders, though obscure to all witnessing them, are made known when her mega aerodactyl moves out of the way of the giant monster of a wailord. instead of going up and around, francie goes down and to the port side of the wailord, left of boruta and his own aerodactyle.[break][break]

"looks like a clean shot, let it rip!"[break][break]

with a screech, tilly opens her maw and begins to build energy. that energy swirls and gathers before releasing a hyper beam through the ultra deep sea around them. gravity's a silly thing. having braced, francie and her aerodactyl don't move much. but the wailord?[break][break]

they'd aimed for the backside of the whale, near it's tail. upon impact, the wailord spins, losing control of it's trajectory. at the angle they managed to hit it the beast doesn't spiral into boruta, but instead away from him.[break][break]

"woo! nice shot tills!"

the fact that he politely said he didn't remember makes her sweat a little. did she confuse him with somebody else? she was real good at that...[break][break]

luckily, he brings up something she does remember. and something she'd rather not remember while entering a dream inducing pocket of caverns.[break][break]

"oh yeah! i was working for FERNANDO SILPH back then, alongside Raziel Beckett. great times, i did a lot of different ranger missions back then."[break][break]

and then she got called to help family. she got taken off the silph branch of the rangers. she became an average ranger.[break][break]

"i got called to kalos to help a family member with a dig they were doing. then i tried to come back but the barrier was up... came back as soon as i could after it went down though!"[break][break]

knock it out? francie thinks, wondering what the other is thinking. an air slash doesn't do much damage, it won't be knocking her lyconroc out her louie... so does he mean, out of range of the tower?[break][break]

louie is weak, though. and the noivern likely knows more than just flying type moves. francie knows she needs to think quickly.[break][break]

"louie! snap out of it!" she calls, not looking to her opponent, but keeping her distance— rockets are tricky beings.[break][break]

with a whine, louie's knocked down and his head is spinning. he shakes his head, trying to snap out of his confusion, snorting his nose and letting out a low growl of protest.[break][break]

"there he is! rock climb, one more time! get close!"[break][break]

without using the tower, the dusk lycanroc pushes into the stone of the roof, power surging through all four legs. as his paws claw into the ground, stone begins to build with each step, allowing him to manipulate the ground enough to surge up, taking rocks with him as he leaps for the opposing noivern.

tilly gives a screech as francie moves her heels a certain way, turning her body to show she's gonna hop off. and she does, before tilly even lands.[break][break]

"alright, two it is!" she pulls two capsules from her belt and beams like some kinda protagonist; even if she's more a side character.[break][break]

"ready ta go, boys?" she asks the capsules, happy to feel them shake in response.

"oh my goodness, really???" excitement bubbles out of her like a pot on a heat to high.[break][break]

her mind travels through about eighteen different questions before she slaps her hands on her cheeks and puffs them out in exaggeration. "oh man oh boy oh gosh where do i even start? um, um![break][break]

"oh, i know!" she opens her mouth to speak but then a pare of blades land between them. her eyes follow and she blinks stupid at them. "eh?"[break][break]

WOOSH![break][break]

now, a person with any real intelligence would brace themselves for flying backwards. what does francie do? she purposes to grip the blade handle, to keep herself steady and in place, while reaching for her pokéball.[break][break]

her flesh tears in little cuts because of the energy. she manages to pull out a capsule, clicking the center button and expanding the ball before click it again and releasing her dusk lycanroc, louie.[break][break]

"hang on remy!" she calls, realizing only then she'd grabbed the prince by his waist and held him like a sack of potatoes. she finally releases her grip on the sword she grabs onto louie, moving enough for remy to do the same. louie on the other hand uses crunch to bite down onto the blade before him in an effort to hold steady against the energies.
