to her, barnaby is supposed to be worlds away from all this. to her, barnaby shouldn't be standing right in front of her, so the shock and confusion that comes over her frame startles and shocks her; makes her immediately become worried.[break][break]

it's a playful nickname, one that she means no harm by using. that's his name in her contacts. that's his name when she's just off the fly talking about him. half the time people probably don't know he's who she's referring to whens he talks about her friend barney.[break][break]

but lyonel gives a low growl and francie stops walking. because even if she trusts barnaby, she knows lyonel would never growl at her friend, even if he was in rare form.[break][break]

truthfully she should have introduced herself. the excitement of everything made introductions slip her mind completely though. but his asking if this is her first time reminds her that introductions aren't usually necessary when you're told your assigned partner before you head out.[break][break]

the comment might have seemed offhand, but she's been thinking about it since they were technically stationed together to find a safe passage through the cave.[break][break]

watching the rotom speak for the girl and make motions had francie giving a soft smile. instead of letting her energy radiate at it's usual decimal, she clams herself down a bit.[break][break]

least she could do, after all, is calm down her yamper level energy to something more like a poochyena to try and help not to startle the girl.[break][break]

"absolutely! as far as how to clear the bugs out, i usually have my two houndours halle and berry go in and smoke the place. bugs come crawling out because the shops uninhabitable, then i just have my aerodactyl blow some air through the place to clear the smog out while halle and berry take care of the bugs and chase them into the wilds."[break][break]

the confusion hits, the way the guy reacts and orders his pokémon, it should phase francie. she should get nervous. she should feel like she needs to try better.[break][break]

but instead, she's smiling. she watches louie get hit with the supersonic and furrows her brows in thought, trying to work through what she should do. her lycanroc is confused, whining as he suddenly sees even more than the original noivern.[break][break]

"louie, you're alright!" she warns him before cupping her hands over her mouth. "throw a fit if you gotta!"[break][break]

the words echo through the dusk lycanroc's head a few times but he's losing grip. in an effort to try and gain his footing back, or perhaps complete the task of at least destroying the damn tower, he let's loose a stomping tantrum, the confusion of it all causing his attack to hit the tower more than anything else as his body tumbled down and landed atop the building.[break][break]

"you're okay boy! hang in there! try and snap out of it!" [break][break]

francie sits at the edge of the building, kicking her feet. she hums a tune, heels clicking against the brick softly as she hums, tilting her head back and forth. waves of blonde sway as she hums.[break][break]

she's been at the tower for about half an hour. the ranger there before had just been relieved and now somebody else was coming to check on the tower in that ranger's absence.[break][break]

"hm?"[break][break]

her humming comes to a stop, her and her midday lycanroc, louie, look curiously toward a few trash cans. her brows furrow in concern, like she's seen a glitch in the matrix.[break][break]

louie gives a low growl before getting up on all fours and making his way down the building in dewford where their coms tower was set up. his rock climb makes it easy for him to traverse the side of the building, just in time for francie to hear a new ranger coming up to the tower.[break][break]

she turns on her heel and smiles at the newcomer, but the smile fades when she sees his tattoos and is completely distracted.[break][break]

"whoa sir! that musta hurt... but they sure do look cool."[break][break]

it's a merry ol' day with francie. she's just gotten back to her feet again, she's feeling good, and she's walking with none other than Remiel Calcifet himself! a guy who, she's learning, is far more complex than she initially thought.[break][break]

usually she gives people the benefit of the doubt in the realm of like, y'know, mystery. but this guy takes the cake. he's just got a plethora of stuff about him that she's learning! and here she thought he just liked sinisteas and ghost types.[break][break]
