because she's conflicted. she doesn't want him to feel entitled to her life but she also wants to be entitled to the details of his. having been an open book around him for so long and barely getting anything back but 'you can do better than me', her desire is nothing short of spite.[break][break]

so she holds it back. because she is kind, because she hurts.[break][break]

while the attack might hurt tilly, it would only hurt a bit. luckily for tilly, anyway.[break][break]

as the combined attack lands, the great wailord gives a whine and a call, spouting water at the two as it tumbles and eventually ends up back in the ocean. tilly's exhausted form gives a screech of victory as she makes her way back up the beach, careful to walk and not fly as to not cause any sort of unintentional sand-attack on the two trainers.[break][break]

gratitude is shed by those who had reported the wailord and francie shows her own to tilly with affectionate pets while inspecting her backside, where the flames had hit. to make sure she doesn't have any burns.[break][break]

thankfully, she does not. her eyes cut to 'ghost' before she smiles.[break][break]

"thanks a bunch for the help, mr. ghost." she still can't believe that's his real name.

Oh good, distractions are just what she needs. Because she'd gotten to the center way before he had and her brain had started to reel. She'd been watching people heal up with their pokémon, relieved they hadn't...[break][break]

But then Remiel entered the center and all was well. All it took was his smile and greeting to have her usual cheery exterior back. She's thankful; she feels more herself in the façade these days.[break][break]

"Hello—ohp." She takes notice of the sour green applin and beams, crouching down with her knees practically to her chest, folding to be more on his level as he shies away.[break][break]

"Hi there Herschel. You don't know me yet, but my name's Francie."[break][break]

There are little indicators that she's not as fine as she seems in how she speaks. She's not nearly as goofy as she usually is and instead of 'm'name's' it's 'my name.' But perhaps he doesn't know her well enough to notice, perhaps he does.[break][break]

Finally, she stands, looking to Remiel with unknowingly tired and slightly puffy eyes.[break][break]

"Are you awaiting orders too?"

seeing his response has francie smiling. because that's what she'd wanted, even if she didn't directly ask for it. and somehow Remiel Calcifet managed to figure that out. she's happy for it, and she stands up to send out her aerodactyl, tilly, who lands upon the surface before her with ease and positions herself so francie can climb upon her easily.[break][break]

the second text, however, surprises her. she doesn't care, mind. she's just happy that she doesn't have to be alone. and that she doesn't have to go and seek the counsel of the one person she's currently working through her feelings for.[break]

Okay! Sounds good. I'll head to the PC and meet you there.

the pokémon center wouldn't be far, so she doesn't mind giving tilly a kiss and laying on tilly's back for support and giving her a loving pat.[break][break]

after an affection trill in her throat, the aerodactyl takes off. she heads straight for where her trainer asked her to go. not a very far flight from where they had been.

didn't everybody know freya morningstar? at least, to francie they should. they would. why wouldn't they? people like BARNABY FINCH weren't popular. but freya? yeah, that surprised her.[break][break]

but then again not everybody's as gossip involved and rumor savvy as our francie here.[break][break]

francie looks to tilly with a beaming smile. "you know what to do, girl!"[break][break]

it's the only command she needs to give before the aerodactyl is moving up underneath the wailord, digging into the sand and building energy around her body. she's planning to rush into the beast with a giga impact to send it sailing into the water once more.[break][break]

"maybe you can combine your attack with mind, and together they'll send that whale back into the ocean."

The moment he places that adoring gaze on her Francie melts. There is something about how he looks at her that she has always craved. How is it that he can make her feel like the only person in his life just with one gaze?

She doesn’t know. She doesn’t want to know. Because with him being herself is easy. Her Barney has his arm around her and is leading her away.

The receptionist only gets a, “thanks Mrs. Parker!” in response to her popcorn munching and cough. She helped Francie make the surprise that pleased Barnaby so much possible. How couldn’t she thank her?

The penthouse always makes Francie feel a little starry eyed. It’s as lavish as he is and when she’s there it is surreal to her that he’s her friend. Close friend. Dear friend.

The extended arm is accepted. Francie plops herself down beside him. She doesn’t sit with her side against him. Instead, she sits with one leg bent, shin against his thigh, the other leg dangling over his as she leans her shoulder against the side of the couch.

“Oh man,” catching up sounded glorious. “I’m just so happy to be home. I can’t believe I got caught outside the barrier. I feel like you’ll have way more to tell me about than I’ll have to tell you about.”

to be more accurate, she's not sure she'd word it that she's holding up at all. but the fact that he asks makes her feel a bit of relief. he must be alright... right?[break]

Callan Young had just led her out into ever grande city, to a safe spot, to a safe place. she has bruises from her encounter with parker jones and she's still frightened by the power shown to her by priam conrad and Amor Rose. worse is the fear that creeps into the back of her mind surrounding BARNABY FINCH, the vision of him she saw and SILAS BLACKWELL being apart of it.[break][break]

what did that signify? what does it mean?[break][break]

instead of sitting still, she began to climb. from the ruin like cityscape up and around the crater like mass. she sits atop one of the peaks, feet dangling. the height doesn't bother her. she's always loved the feeling of being on top of the world.[break][break]

but even in this height, she feels numb. she feels a pulling, a longing, a curiosity. louie's ball is in her hand, twisting and turning within. she frowns, eyes watering.[break][break]

collapsing the ball into her hand, she puts it in her pocket and takes out her phone. it's been a few hours since she last spoke with anybody. she told the staff she needed to clear her head and that was that. luckily, she'd snagged remi's number as they left for their mission.[break][break]

everything seems to have a momentary calm, finally.[break]

Hey, it's Francie! Seems like we got separated somehow.

the text is sent quickly, lack of emojis a show enough that she's not feeling her best. she doesn't expect it to turn into anything more than a text conversation; but little does she know that it'll end up a rendezvous with the prince.

the tears in the eyes above her have francie's heart and stomach twisting. whatever happened to this woman, francie suddenly wants to wrap her up in a hug. but she's asked, instead, to punch her in the face.[break][break]

she had literally no problem punching priam conrad in the face. he'd snuck up on her, startled her and appeared out of no where. but this woman? strong as she appears, tough as she appears, she's crying, and asking to be punched in the face.[break][break]

then the teeth show and something in francie churns. that dip in her stomach shoots below the waist. she doesn't have time to psychoanalyze that and, instead, pushes the feelings aside.[break][break]

francie moves her palm a certain way and then uses it to press against parker's jaw, along her neck. it's a soft spot that she knows will, from the looks of anybody else, show how she overpowers the girl that holds more muscle mass than her.[break][break]

at the same time her hips twist and she's flipped their positions. it took a lot of effort and her chest hurts, but she does as she's asked. there's a crack of knuckles against jaw and francie stands, withdrawing her lycanroc and her iron thorns as she runs off. flees.[break][break]

doesn't feel like a win. feels like ... a tie. and she feels horrible because she wants to comfort the girl, not run away.
