Had Johanna’s focus been on Claydol, she’d definitely have seen it coming. Alas Claydol’s attack was easily dodged. But Claydol was not about to let up. If EARTH POWER did not work. Then surely his next move would!

A purple energy ran along the ground mixing with the electrostatic of the electric terrain before seeping into the ground. A short moment later chunks of the battlefield would be pulled up, huge rocks suddenly hurled towards the speedy Jolteon as Claydol used ANCIENT POWER as its next attack.

Meanwhile, as Trevenant was trying to pull itself out of the waters. He felt the ramming attack of SPARK against his bark. He groaned in pain as the empowered electric current washed over him. So annoyed was he that he did not continue on his path, but quickly tried to turn around using SHADOW CLAW empowered hands to grab the fish.

Should he be successful, he would attempt to throw the Lanturn out of the water.



CURRENT BATTLE MANIA EFFECT:

- Forward the Electricity bill to the Mauville Gym (Perpetual Electric Terrain)

The Z-move hit, dealing quite a bit of damage to the victim but also the arena. Bits and pieces sent flying everywhere caught by the protective barriers set it place to make sure no members of the audience or challengers alike were hurt.

But the Hisuian Goodra wasn’t done. Dragapult was within range and the ICE BEAM that quickly followed hit true.

“I can only recommend that you do!” Johanna replied. Her eyes returned to the battle.

Dragapult had landed on the ground. The ice type attack had sapped what remained of its strength. Though it clearly wanted to keep fighting, it could not.

Johanna made the decision to end its battle right there. Taking its Pokéball, she retrieved the Ghostly Dragon back into safety, much to its dismay.

Half the Audience began to cheer in Amor’s favor. The other, tried to pray for Johanna to turn the tides of battle.

She gave Amor a moment to recall his Pokémon if he thought it too wounded to continue. Before she would summon just the Pokémon for the job.

The next Pokémon to take the stage was a Drifblim. Eagerly floating about. No matter what Pokémon currently stood before it, whether it be the wounded Goodra or a new opponent, Drifblim’s battle would start the same. With a wave of HYPNOSIS aimed at the opponent.

For someone who liked to claim that they were alive. Johanna sure seemed to flock back to the land of the inbetween.

Once again Johanna found herself here, in the company of the same three people that had been here last time. Callan, Josh and Ettie, not that she minded in the least. They made for good company.

Like her fellow travelers she was riding one of her Pokémon. Riding might be the wrong word to use though, as the Drifblim protectively carried her and the backpack she had brought in its arms as it floated along with the pack until they reached a small Cavern where it would gently put down its trainer.

While the rest of the group was setting up a fire, Johanna would set down her backpack upon the ground and begin digging out the plethora of different Sandwiches she had hand-crafted with love and care. “If anyone is hungry, I brought sandwiches” she said as she gestured for the group to take whichever ones they wanted if they were hungry.

This room was clearly a movement free zone. This Megan, or perhaps it was the doctors here, had decided.

The moment Johanna as much as tried to get out of the bed. Megan got out of a rut and pushed her back into the bed as Megan recited the words of the doctors.

Stay in bed.

How could she when Megan was feeling like that?

Though the warmth in Megan’s voice calmed her enough to stay put. Johanna listened to Megan’s worries.

Death had become such a force in the young woman’s mind, it was clear to see even for Johanna. “Well, about that job…” Johanna began.

“I am going to quit. I know doing that will be dangerous, and honestly I fear that they might come for me in retaliation. But I think it’s worth the risk...” Her heart was beset with worry, nervousness. Even saying these words out loud made her fear that on the other side of those walls a spy could be listening.

LOCATION: LILYCOVE CITY

The bombing was a success. The Dragapult kept moving, darting around to make itself a hard target.

Only now did their opponent notice the curse that had been placed upon them. Unfortunately it didn’t mean much as Amor returned to the tried and true ICE BEAM.

But being in motion made it easier to dodge, even if the ICE BEAMS came woefully close a few times. One even grazed at the Dragapult’s side.

Loud gasps escaped from the audience each time they did. Johanna could not halt herself from smiling pleased in the audience’s entertainment.

Amor spoke, and for a moment she pondered if he was trying to elicit some sort of information from her. If she acknowledged his words and the durability of his Pokémon, then perhaps he would realize that he would win a war of attrition.

But was that a bad thing? She pondered for a second. Her purpose was to teach and to test. She was not here to win the battle, even if victory did taste sweeter.

“Well, of course I have to use interesting tactics! It's clear that I won’t get through your Partners' durability with conventional means!” She smiled excitedly, adding a bit of jesterly flair to her words. Though seeing how the Dragapult was slowing down, grimacing from pain and exhaustion, it was clear the battle wouldn’t last much longer.

Z-move time? She nodded a bit to herself.


“Blast it with All your power Ethan!”

A quick visible shine began to surround the Arena as a clear see through field of WIDE-GUARD upon WIDE-GUARD was used by various security Pokémon, some of them attached to the trainer boxes.

The Dragapult began to dart around quickly. The engines on its air-plane head fired off as it zoomed about. Purple energy began to radiate from the Dragapult’s body until it suddenly halted mid air, facing toward the Hisuian Goodra. The Energy welled even more, before the Dragapult let it fly from its mouth.

Johanna gazed, ever impressed by the beauty as the purple energy flew quickly forming a vaguely draconic shape as the Z-MOVE: DEVASTATING DRAKE flew toward their opponent.




TLDR:

Cheers escape the fans of Johanna as Trevenant meets with Lanturn in melee for a moment. But then as the combined powers of Jolteon and Lanturn rained down upon the waters and subsequently Trevenant, cheers were switched in favor of gasps.

Some few screams urged the large tree on, praying that it would pass.

Trevenant stood tall and imposing even in the waters. But it was clear that its soaked frame was damaged. Mild electric currents crackling over the top of the waters from the Trevenant. A low rumbling groan of pain escaped. Had it not been for the water, it would surely have been smoking.

“Get out of there Hauke!” Johanna commanded.

With stiff movements did the Trevenant try to move, for the edge of the waters to pull itself up, giving Lanturn a free opportunity to attack.

But Claydol was not about to leave the Trevenant vulnerable to a combo attack once more. Before Johanna could even speak the command, it send its psychic energies into the earth trying to erupt the earth beneath Jolteon with EARTH POWER, if nothing else to keep it preoccupied.

Callan Young of the Elite Four had some thoughts and questions. This worried her. Had the past already caught up? It would be quick, but she wouldn’t have been surprised.

But be that as it may, she had agreed.

She led Callan to her dressing room. Found at the edges of the Theme park. It was surprisingly spacious. Perhaps even luxurious compared to what the rest of the staff was offered. But hey, it was her own little home away from home so to speak.

Thick walls, and a very secure looking door. Not a sound would enter or exit the moment they had both moved in there. Various costumes hang neatly at the far end wall. All various plays on the theme of JESTER’S QUEEN.

A single window allowed those inside to peer out, but not the other way around. And it was here they would find one of Johanna’s Pokémon sitting neatly on one of the few chairs in here.

The Shiinotic tensed immediately as it saw Callan. Eyes quickly moving to Johanna for reassurances that this person was alright.

She gave the Mushroom a nod and it relaxed again.

“We can speak freely here.” Johanna said. “And before you ask. Anything you want to ask, can be asked in Adair’s presence.” She gestured for the Shiinotic. She was not about to be completely alone with Callan.

Before she even had another thought, she felt the ghastly grip of Cofagrigus’s hand around her wrist. Of course she tried to move her hand instinctively, but found it locked.

The other hand, clutching the Happiny. She could let go, let Acacia fall to the ground and grab a Pokéball. But then Acacia would be at the mercy of Zev like the three others.

She noticed the three other arms, and knew what they would do should she try to escape. She tried to calm her breathing and her heart.

Zev’s words were ominous, even if they were delivered with a tone of neutrality befitting the cold dead void she was certain to visit should she displease Zev.

But that didn’t scare her as much as what he did afterward. A heavy boot met with the fragile exoskeleton of her Weedle.

Fear painted with broad strokes on her face, as she had to resist the urge to try and jump him right there, in fact, Cofagrigus would feel a pull. But she managed to contain it.

For a brief moment her memories returned to Isaac Merlo’s warnings. And she realized she had been more careless than intended.

“No, don’t hurt him… If you must hurt someone, hurt me.” Though she hoped not. A vivid brief memory of her last mission with dorian westcliff flew past her, a memory of a metal pipe raining a barrage of blows down upon a grounded thug.

Drapion was not one to avoid close quarter combat. But today he was reminded why he probably ought to be more cautious.

His fangs dug deeply and greedily into the Gholdengo with a malignant hunger. Loud yelps escaped from the Gholdengo, and yet its body remained mostly whole, unlike its arm before.

“Get Aw…” Her words escaped too late.

The Golden Ghost fired an unending salvo of golden coins at the Drapion. At first the ferocious creature tried to tank the blow, hoping the continued gnashing of its teeth would whittle the Gholdengo into unconsciousness.

But unfortunately the power of Tony’s attack was too much. Drapion’s fangs let go as he fell to the ground, knocked out.

Johanna retrieved the Drapion back into its Pokéball as she made her way over to Callan. “You won!” Johanna proclaimed. Quickly retrieving a badge case from her pocket, and plucking out one of the JOY badges inside.

“You’ve rightfully earned this.” She extended a hand with the rainbow patterned JOY BADGE laying in the middle, ready for Callan to take it.

“So, what was it you wanted to talk about?” Johanna asked once Callan would’ve taken the badge.

Johanna Gazed upon the wrecked route 120. Two groups of kingambit and their retinue had clashed like armies of ancient samurai, hoping to win what imaginary bamboo fields they saw fit for their daimyo.

Now there were but stragglers left. But even those could be dangerous. She knew this, and so she joined the efforts of catching these wild soldiers, letting her Bewear get some much needed exercise in the process before she would throw a ball and attempt a capture.

Blind as it was. A flying object was better than no object.

Having no eyes in the back of her head, she did not see that Zev allowed her to move. No, she thought her plan had simply worked.

Once she felt that there was adequate space, she turned to see her assailant. Body tense, grip perhaps pressing a bit tightly on the Pokémon in her arms.

As Zev spoke, her eyes darted to the other three Pokémon. She needed to save those, or he could use them as leverage.

Hand inching closer to her trainer belt with Pokéballs awaiting a simple press to release their content. If all this person had was a Cofagrigus, she might be able to pull through. But she doubted she could grab a ball before Zev would notice.

“I retired. Didn’t you guys get the memo?” Johanna replied, breathing heavy from tension and adrenaline. She took steps backward toward the entrance to the Master bedroom as she noticed the threatening arms of the ghastly Pokémon companion.
