Even for all of Amor's manic excitement over this 'success', if one could call it that, Makoto was more than a little concerned for the Head Scientist. As he speaks, they are working to pull back the torn clothing so that they can bandage up the wounds below and stop the bleeding. One's dignity was nowhere near as important as actually staying alive - though they did their best to not pull away any more than they had to, to bandage him. "Tsukiko, Wish."

At Makoto's direction, Tsukiko would make a wish for Amor's health - her Illumina markings briefly glowing as she did. Though it'd take time, it'd at least prevent him from bleeding out.

Makoto jumped a bit at Howard's touch - glancing to watch as he moved for the machine - before responding with a soft "Yeah..."

As Amor commented on the pain though, Makoto couldn't help a sigh. "Of course you do - you nearly got bit in half..." They murmured - only loud enough for him to hear. They were too tired to really think about being their usual overly polite self - the words coming out before they could think much of it. "At this rate, you're going to get yourself killed by the gods you're pursuing..."

What would Amor do, if they weren't there to help the next time he got caught up in some crazy stunt like this?

When even mythical beings are being affected by these Toxic Chains, that is a source of concern.

Atop Midori's back, and with Tsukiko running alongside, Makoto attempts to keep pace with the Celebi that is zipping through the trees. There is an ever-present sense of unease all the whilst - not only from the infected pokemon that are giving chase, but also from the sense of time feeling wrong here, in a way that disorients them.

Every so often, they glance down to check the time - hoping that some discrepency can be found, or some other sign of just how things are wrong here. They hope to find some form of quantifiable information, something that Amor Rose, howard slayte, or Tempest Quinn might be able to work with - but thus far... No dice.

All they can do, is attempt to keep track of the Celebi - and perhaps try to aid it. It's clear that the fairy is not completely lost to the chain, unlike the more mundane pokemon giving chase. "Tsukiko - Heal Bell..!"

The Alolan Ninetales barks in response, her Illumina markings briefly lighting up as the single chime of a bell rings out. Perhaps, hopefully, this would help those here who were ailing...

Makoto jumps a bit, as Ameena's voice breaks them from their reverie. They blink once, twice, glancing over to her... And it takes a second for them to respond; but... They blink back any forming tears, in an attempt to force themself to remain composed, before finally speaking. "I... Think it's about time, yes." They agree, albeit a bit reluctantly.

The simulation is coming to a close, anyhow.

Even if they wanted to hang onto that image of their late mother, for a little while longer.

(Perhaps a future visit, would give them the opportunity to revisit such memories...? It was their silly little hope, at the very least...)

Makoto's breath escapes in a startled shudder, as the world changes once more. These simulations were something else, and it left them off-kilter each time something otherworldly occurred within one.

And more often than not, it started from otherwise seemingly ordinary situations - which meant they were left wary, when they were presented with the Xatu on the cliff.

Not that any wariness would stop them from having an image - a vision - projected to them, of the past.

A mother's kind voice, warm smile, and gentle touch. Of the distant chimes from Bell Tower, of autumnal leaves crunching underfoot, as she holds their hand. They were going to a festival, the both of them - to play games, and eat yummy junk food, and wear silly masks...

Makoto is frozen in the moment, as they hold this vision in their mind's eye - as they focus upon every little bit of it. Their eyes are growing wet.

Makoto tenses a hair at the disapproval; unsure of what to expect, or what they had said in the moment that was bad. But before they can process or begin an apology, he speaks - and they blink, a little surprised at his words.

Indeed, it was hard to really imagine Cillian as having once been another grunt, himself. Or that he'd acknowledge them as much as he did. Something about it did set them a little at ease, even if they couldn't quite articulate why...

... But perhaps it was just, the reminder that Cillian was human - and that he knew them to be human as well. That they were both people, here in the moment.

It almost let them forget, that many of those like Cillian in Rocket were people who could, would, and have killed humans the very same. Almost.

With the farewell though, they'd nod in response - following him out of the lab, and back into the snowy streets of Sootopolis. It was cold. The snow crunched under their feet. They were alive.

How long would they be able to keep it up for - between the dealings and work of Rocket, and having to keep their Shadow on a tight leash..?

Every which way, disoriented infected civillians stumble about. These Toxic Chains were a piece of work to say the least, with the effects they seemed to have on different pokemon and people alike...

... Although, they did wish that their stomach could stop roiling whenever they got within proximity of these incidents.

At the very least, they had Heal Bells from Tsukiko to help keep the situation under control, and perhaps heal multiple civillians at once...

Dustox and Beautifly would be a beautiful sight, if they weren't infesting an entire city. They'd be a beautiful sight, if they weren't spreading dust and pollen all over. But the situation certainly soured the otherwise fascinating sights.

Makoto sighed heavily, as they brought Onji, Homura, and Tsume out. Hopefully, some fire-type attacks would do the trick in getting them to leave; and perhaps if they were lucky, they'd get a chance at catching something...

Once more, Makoto found themself thankful for Tsukiko - and for just how cooperative the fox could be - when she was otherwise quite mischievous - when a situation turned from push to shove.

The pollen from the clashing Venusaurs rains down around the duo - but with Tsukiko's Springtide Storm, they are able to protect themselves with howling winds that are able to carry the pollen away, on petal-laden gales.

And once the worst of the dusting had passed, Makoto would be quick to order a Blizzard - hoping to take out both Venusaur at once, now that the shields have broken.
