And the utter chaos being wrought by them going loose courtesy of Toxic Chains didn't endear him to a car that could run him over the moment it got confused.

Once the call came in from Mauville of them going loose, Hideo was on it, having already dealt with the sudden chain appearance in Littleroot. And he had just the solution:

His Magnezone floated about, its Magnet Pull serving to pull the berserk Revavroom from their vehicles. And while the malding motors were struggling, his Starmie shot the Toxic Chains off with a well-aimed Ice Beam.

As several cars do wheelies and accelerate violently about the place, the man eventually yanks a ball off his belt, throwing it out.

"Get them off the road." He ordered his Probopass as it appeared.

The giant nose hovered in place, recognizing his orders with but a nod of the head before rising high in the air, eyes gleaming brightly.

As it did, several speeding vehicles, their tires still screeching, were suddenly hoisted up and suspended in the air, floating towards the giant nose.

As you sprint after one of the runaway Revaroom, you cursed under your breath. Somedays, you really wish your pockets had zippers on them.

As it happens, Magnet Pull isn't always the most useful ability in the world, especially when the Pokemon possessing it is the size of a literal fridge magnet. One moment, you're observing the noxious engines, trying make sense of how the Toxic Chain can infest both Poison and Steel alike, and the next? Meltan has slipped out of your pocket, dragged from the safety of your jacket and attached nut-first to the metal chassis of the rampaging vehicles. This? This is a disaster.

As it so happens, cars are faster than humans.

"Shit... Shit... Shit...!"

It takes you thirty minutes to finally catch up to the runaway roadster and rescue your Meltan. Then, you take another fifteen minutes to catch your breath. But after that?

You send these fuckers to the scrapyard.

Howard hated magnets. How did they work?

Seriously, magnets were unfathomably complicated. Howard was sure that Amor Rose had used them in that wormhole machine that had almost killed them that one time, but he was unsure what the mechanics behind it were. All he knew was that the device had given him a healthy fear of the movie Starmiegate as well as magnetism.

He also hated cars. Cars were expensive and bus passes were cheaper. He still owned a car, but after paying his first month of car insurance with his illegal mob money, Howard often considered diving headfirst into traffic to avoid paying the second.

Knowing Rocket, they would've found a way to bring him back from the dead so he could keep paying it. They did love their admins, judging from their health benefits. Especially their dental!

"OH WHAT THE FU-" Howard screamed as he dodged a luxury sports car that had almost painted its bumper red with the archaeologist's blood. His Magnemite flew after it, attempting to drag it in with its Magnet Pull. Howard watched as the car lost control and crashed into a tree.

"Woah, woaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH--"

June banked left, and the car simply didn't respond like it should've. It wasn't the steering wheel that resisted; it was the entire vehicle itself that disregarded her action. Yet the car turned left and narrowly dodged the pedestrians that ran for their lives. She couldn't let out any breaths of relief, but it felt nice to not mow them over as the car continued on down the road.

The toxic chain was back, and this time it was in her own hometown. Of course, it was also the one time she'd been in her apartment in the last three weeks. She'd been throwing out the rotten fruit in her fridge when the car she was currently trying to drive almost turned her to mush against her apartment complex's wall.

From there, it'd been a terrible time.

She saw some trainers dismantle the vehicles, and others simply try to not die themselves. She also saw a few... no, best not consider it. Her mental was already shot enough. The red stains would only make it worse. Instead, she should focus on making sure no one else got destroyed by this car.

And not die herself. That'd be nice.
