Even these speeds just remind her of home, back on Kanto's busiest streets. [break][break] "Hold it! Those're just the avant garde!"[break][break] She shouts over the din, a glowing flower blinking slowly at her side. It watches and pulses with a mysterious energy. Despite its foreign composition, it seems to understand.[break][break] "Hold it... hooooold it..."[break][break] Crouching down, she can feel the rumbling in her legs. At first, she can't tell if it's just the nervousness getting to her, all these images of that strange chain coming back to haunt her after all this time, when she'd first been unceremoniously introduced to the idea of aliens living among them. [break][break] She waits, though. Then, she can hear the roar of engines coming up the drive.[break][break] "Alight. On cue! One... two..."[break][break] The sparkling flower blooms accordingly, scattering shards of broken toxic crystals across the roadway beneath them. Crystalline toxic shards almost seem like tinsel, or confetti. A celebration, for their victory to come. [break][break] The screeching of tires, the resulting angry roars of engines beneath them as they try to outmaneuver the resulting pile-up... she hears it all from the overpass above. Every last bit. [break][break] And then, the roads fall silent, only burning wreckage left in their wake. [break][break] "... Arceus."[break][break] She peeks over the side, surveying the end result.[break][break] "Got some of 'em. Rest will be headed your way."[break][break] Tsubaki clicks off her comms, and slumps against the wall. The flower in front of her dangles precariously, light trickling off its petals as if in a constant rain storm. Whatever fell from the skies that day, though... it definitely wasn't rain.[break][break]
