"Mochi... Fox." Howard grunted as he trudged through a hot spring, his clothing sodden and soiled and steamy. "I have..."

He retched into the hot spring.

"...arrived."

His Sigilyth floated next to him, its Psychic energies being used to light the way forward for the befuddled archaeologist. His mind swam with purple hues as he wandered forward through the town towards his destination. Healing the townsfolk was a good idea, but the admin didn't have any way to heal them naturally.

He had a sword, though.

Splatter. A chain dissipated as the blade cleaved through it. jayden cross would be proud of the strike. He wondered how the admin was doing. Hadn't there been a procedure for ensuring that the Toxic Chain did not spread? What had happened to it? Hadn't Howard elected to write a response form?

"Mochi..."

Irrelevant. It hardly mattered. The admin's eye flicked to a violet nub on his arm. He recognized it immediately for what it was. Splatter. The blade cleaved through the infantile chain like a knife through butter.

"This is wrong. It's wrong. It's..."

Your Galarian Slowbro launches a Shell Side Arm at a Toxic Chained Butterfree, the noxious shot hitting the butterfly head-on and sending it careening to the ground. Then, the aforementioned side arm of a shellish disposition shifts down towards the trainer, firing another Shell Side Arm at the Toxic Chain, before shifting it one last time to fire off a Heal Pulse.

It's strange. Slowbro, as a species, has always been thought as dimwitted. And yet, his methodolgy is so inherently sound, you wouldn't think it. Weird, right? You think it's weird. He seems pretty smart to you. Maybe they need a name change? Call 'em Smartbros or something. You think--

"You're going to sleep with the Magikarp, pal...!"

--Another Shell Side Arm. Then another. And then, a Heal Pulse. He's not even shooting at anything anymore. Is he...? Does he...? Uh... Hm.

Okay, nevermind. Maybe "Slowbro" fits him just fine.

"Gnocci, get they're asses!" he yelled, his Beheeyem blasting a powerful PSYWAVE at pokemon it could spot toxic chains. When approached, they'd aggro and lock in onto them. Insane to watch every time.

But he's been in enough of these emergencies to anticipate it, so it didn't give him a jump scare every time anymore. As his Beheeyem attacked, Mint was typing furiously on his phone noting that the toxic chains didn't just make the Pokémon act weird, but it seemed to amplify or even change their abilities completely. But he's unsure. More analysis was needed.

Something feels wrong. The world spins just a little bit as Alba arrives on the scene of the latest hazardous happening. Maybe he's coming down with something.[break][break]

…Considering what Hoenn was dealing with right now, that didn't sound very good.[break][break]

But all he can do is press on. Aromatisse’s perfumes fill the air as she tries to soothe people's maladies, a Healer trying to neutralose a dire poison. Time will tell if it ends up being enough to make a difference.

Now it was LAVARIDGE. Rocket's Admin came upon the mountain-side town, feeling discomfort crawl up his spine at the unmistakable warmth that was in the air.

[break][break] He grimaced as one of the villagers wandered too close and vomited onto the ground before him, the smell of something noxious in the air.

[break][break] Jayden glanced towards it, startled to see the same TWO-TOED FOOTPRINTS that he and howard slayte had seen in the Chasm.

[break][break] There was little time to dissect it though, as he sought to help the civilians by releasing his Gothorita. A HEAL PULSE emerged, swelling around two poisoned villagers, until their TOXIC CHAIN shattered.

Knight had gone to buy souvenirs from his school trip for his uncle and decided some Lava Cookies would just hit the spot. He had permission from a teacher to head to a shop and a couple of his classmates came along.[break][break]
The events from earlier were still fresh in his mind so he made sure Fitzwilliam followed out of his Poke Ball -- just in case. Kay chatted to his classmates and as they rounded the corner to the shop they wanted to visit, they noticed a few of the locals were acting... Well... Weird. They stumbled past and seemed to be sick in some way.[break][break]
Naturally this scared the classmates who had come along and they rushed back to the pension, leaving Knight alone with his 'mon. He looked around in confusion and could swear he saw some weird, two-toed footprints on the ground. At least, that was the last thing Kay could remember before he succumbed to his illness and fainted.

Making up her mind to see if she can find another pokemon inflicted with a Toxic Chain, it's only by happenstance that Nenet stumbles upon a small bakery selling their famous Lava Cookies to the public.

Known to heal pokemon and humans alike, a short exchange of pokedollars later sees Nenet taking a bite of the rice cracker cookie. Instantly she feels a bit better, and a healthier sheen returns to her skin.

A grotesque sight was unfolding before Noel, dozens of Lavaridge citizens were walking around in their own vomit without a care in a world. The mindless zombies only shuffling about and bumping into something before facing a new direction and repeating the process. It took a moment for the blue-haired trainer to deal with their hostile Pokemon, but once they were done, it was time to help cure these infected.[break][break]

His Scream Tail would pop out of its ball and knock out the townsfolk with a Sing, albeit off-tone. Once they had been put to sleep, he would assist with the other trainers and medics to help cure them of their toxic chains. Then, it was off to the next part of town to do it again.

MARCH 24TH - LAVARIDGE TOWN[break][break]

The residents of LAVARIDGE TOWN were in a collective stupor when I arrived this morning. What should have otherwise been a pleasant spring day was filled with a miasma of sickness and bile. And, though I felt slightly UNWELL myself upon entering, I found that a LAVA COOKIE helped ease my symptoms.[break][break]

I set about with my SINISTCHA afterward to free the townsfolk of the TOXIC CHAINS possessing them. They wore them about like crowns, but acted more like stumbling drunks than proper royalty. These townsfolk were, at least, more docile than the TOXIC CHAINED Pokemon that accompanied them. When a LIFE DEW wasn’t being employed, my SINISTCHA found itself fending off attacks more often than not.[break][break]

We managed to FREE a good number of the townsfolk despite that, however. I even came across a set of TWO-TOED FOOTPRINTS that I created a fine cast from. Hopefully this might provide further insights in the future. Though I worry what continued exposure to these POISON PATROLS might mean for individuals of lesser constitution.[break][break]
