"Well, what I know is probably what you know currently. The history books back at home have a way of making something informative into what should actually be a folktale," Elaina said, sounding unfortunate. "The only informative part about it was that it was said to be an ice and dragon type with the power to cause an ice age. Then there was something about it pertaining to the other two legendary dragons, Reshiram and Zekrom, however, their connection with one another was pretty vague in my opinion. I couldn't make heads or tails of it," She admitted, disappointed in the fact that she couldn't be helpful in that regard. "But, even if we did have the correct information needed, we would still have plenty of unanswered questions," Elaina said in a perplexed tone, while her hand lay underneath her chin while she thought to herself. All three legendary pokemon were considered to be myths in modern times. As someone who used to be an avid trainer, she had never encountered a single truth behind them. Then again, she never really bothered to even try. In her opinion, searching for answers like that could be extremely dangerous.

When Illeana mentioned rifts, Elaina said, "Wait - Rifts? As in like portals to another dimension?" She couldn't even begin to fathom what had caused such a thing to happen. After a brief moment of thought, Elaina spoke again. "Can we close them now? If so, I want to help," Elaina said, having a determined look on her face. She may have only just become a ranger, but it was considered her sworn duty to protect both people and pokemon alike. If she could learn how to help in regards to closing the rifts with Illeana, then perhaps the place would be somewhat safe, despite the frigid environment. That would have to more than likely be handled at different times. She didn't know how to help exactly in this regard, but Illeana knew a lot more than she did, which was better than nothing.

Elaina saw the crash, which made her grimace. However, from the looks of things, they weren't injured, just shaken up. "I can see now why it's important to keep in mind what Josh has been teaching his students. Hopefully, I'll keep that in mind," She thought to herself. It was then that Josh's Luxray nuzzled against Elaina, prompting her to pet the electric cat. Since it was about time for her to give it a go, she proceeded to hop on Blitz's back, while also having her helmet on already. She smiled at Josh's compliment.

"Understood," She said with a nod and then after a few minutes, Blitz took off with Elaina ready. The turns at first weren't all that bad, however, as she progressed further down the course, they became slightly more difficult. Josh's advice echoed in her head, instinctively making her lean in as she pulled for the tight turns. She also made sure to only pull only what she needed so as to not cause discomfort for Blitz while doing so. They weren't as good as how Josh made his tight turns, but they were at least passable. When she and Blitz reached the end of the course, Blitz the Luxray slowed down for Elaina. As Josh was coming over, she took off her helmet, fixing her hair, and said to him, "I see what you mean by the tight turns. I think Blitz knew that it was my first time ever riding too, so we worked together when the turns got a bit harder," She said, petting Blitz as soon as she hopped off his back, thanking the Luxray.

"So, what's next?" she asked, putting her helmet back on. Honestly, she wasn't sure if she'd need it, but with flying being the next likely lesson, it'd probably be best to still wear some sort of protective gear.

Elaina had snapped out of her train of thought the moment she heard Shalin's voice. She eased the tension she felt, relaxing a bit, and said, "It went well, I believe. They ranked me as a six, which I think they said wasn't all that bad for a beginner?" She questioned, her ponytail moving along with her head, trying to remember exactly.

Judging from what Shalin had said, Elaina surmised that she was a really good player, as well as a dancer. "I wish I was that confident," Elaina admitted, yet still gave Shalin a smile, deciding to not beat herself up about it all too much. Honestly, her ranking was to be expected. She didn't know all that much about the game, let alone dancing. She was more into playing instruments and singing rather than dancing.

"You got any tips for a beginner like me? I could really use some," Elaina had inquired. She tried learning as much as she could but, she felt that she honestly didn't learn enough. Shalin on the other hand knew exactly what she was getting herself into, so she would probably be able to help Elaina out.

Elaina had entered a clearing, immediately spotting a chingling. It made her think of her mother's chingling, which had brought a gentle smile to form on her face. It had spotted her walking closer, being slightly skittish about her presence. "It's okay! I'm not gonna hurt you," Elaina smiled, slowly bending down on one of her knees. Any quick or sudden movements would have surely warranted the tiny bell to run away out of fright - something that Elaina wanted to avoid. What kind of ranger would she be if she terrified every wild pokemon in existence? Surely, not a good one.

Elaina had placed her bag out in front of her, pulling out a treat for the chingling to have. "Go on, take it! It's yours," She said to the tiny cute bell. It eyed the treat hesitantly, then quickly grabbed it out of her hand with the left side of its tassle, grabbing it as if it were an arm. She gently petted the chingling for a few moments, seeming to like it. Then afterward, Elaina had thought about something. "Chinglings could heal pokemon, right?" She thought to herself, remembering Melody Miro, her Hatterene, and Gardevoir working together to heal the budew. It was then that Elaina decided to pull out a Safari ball, wanting to bring it home with her. That assignment with Melody made her realize how important it was to have a pokemon that could provide some sort of healing, and since she didn't have one, well she figured that it'd be best to learn more about it. "Perhaps, if we see each other again, Melody could give me a few pointers," She thought to herself as she pressed the safari ball against the chingling's head, waiting for the click, before pressing on and searching for some more pokemon out in the safari zone.

Elaina's Sazerac was once again gone as Callan had spoken. Despite the alcohol sensation flowing through her body, she was able to still listen as well as being coherent. If she weren't conversing with Callan, then chances of her being more under the influence would have been more likely, something that she knew she'd regret the next morning. In fact, it was nice, talking to someone as nice as him. "Exactly. Plus, I feel like it'd be better this way." she smiled, setting her empty glass on the table, the ice almost fully melted. She slid her purse over to her, pulled out her wallet, deciding to pay for her own drinks. That was when Callan had asked her if she wanted to go for a walk.

"I would like that." she smiled brightly, accepting his hand to help her up from the bar stool she sat on. "I agree with you on that one. Plus, It gives us the opportunity to talk more about music in a more peaceful setting," she added, while they walked towards the exit. What's more, was that she had heard about Slateport's numerous frozen yogurt stores, and figured that this would be a great time to try out some of their selections. Once they were outside, the slightly cold air that washed over her made her hum with relief. It was a lot better than the stuffy warmth the bar gave.

Just as soon as they started walking toward the frozen yogurt, she wondered what kinds of pokemon Callan liked. "Did he prefer a specific typing, or did he like all kinds of pokemon equally?" she wondered while the two of them walked beside one another. Elaina had mentioned that she liked Ghost pokemon, but Callan hadn't mentioned his personal favorite. Then again, with him being an Elite Four, he probably didn't like to talk about such a thing all too much. Still, it made her just a tad curious.

The danger didn't stop with the wild sandslash. After a few minutes of walking again, a dracozolt appeared. "Get ready, Ira!" Elaina said to her Annihilape, knowing that the dragon wouldn't go down without a fight. The electric dragon gathered electricity to its beak, then proceeded to charge at Ira. Ira used BULK-UP as a means to prepare itself, boosting its strength and defense at the same time. The dracozolt's electric beak made contact with Ira, however, with a good COUNTER, the dracozolt toppled down on its back, fairly dazed from Ira's own attack. Elaina quickly pulled out a pokeball, throwing it at the Dracozolt. After a few seconds of it jostling around in the grass, the pokeball clicked.

She was relieved that Josh didn't seem to mind helping her find a new outfit. Then again, she didn't really know a whole lot of people in the Hoenn region, except for him and Shalin, so any sort of help was greatly appreciated. Besides, they were here at the mall doing the same thing. He was even checking the qualifiers, which Elaina had forgotten about already. "Crap, that's right. I'll need to check that too from time to time while we shop," She said before making their leave of the food court. They made their way to the vendor hall, where there was a plentiful selection of clothing just waiting for her to try on. She looked around, seeing what she could scrounge up. A pair of grey jogger pants, and a tank top, among a few other things.

"Alright, I'll be back in a moment," she said to Josh, believing that she had everything she needed. She quickly headed for one of the vacant changing stalls, deciding to be quick about changing. Once she was finished, finding out whether they fit or not, she quickly took a scrunchy from her purse and neatly tied her hair in a ponytail. She then walked back out of the stall, appearing before josh in her new outfit. "So, what do you think? Does this look good?" she asked, not really sure herself. She hardly wore anything sporty, and since josh was into sports, his opinion was something that Elaina wanted, whether it was good or bad.

Elaina listened to Josh's answer carefully, having no need to physically jot it down. A part of her was relieved that she wouldn't have to wear any earplugs when she was good and ready to ride her newly caught skarmory. It was later that Josh said that he wanted to give some advanced pointers for riding land pokemon, so with that, everyone got out their own land pokemon. As for Elaina, though, she did not have one, which prompted Josh to pull out a few of his own. There were also two other people attending the lesson that also didn't have their pokemon to ride.

Elaina took a minute to see which one would probably best suit her. "I feel like riding the Pyroar would be a bit too much for a first-timer like me." she thought to herself. That only left the Umbreon and the Luxray, and Elaina looked at the two of them before making her choice. Luxrays were known to be very fast pokemon, but something told Elaina that Josh's Luxray would be a perfect fit for her to ride. "If you don't mind, I'll go ahead and ride your Luxray," Elaina said to Josh. Before, letting the others freely try out the course for themselves, he demonstrated with his Jolteon.

As she had watched, it was clear to her that Josh was rather good at racing. "If I ever challenge his gym in the future, it'd probably a good idea to just battle him. I doubt I'd ever win a race against him," Elaina thought to herself. It wasn't that she wasn't confident that she could become good at racing, but it was rather a tremendous difference in skill. Although, she figured that he was also not a pushover in terms of battling either.

Just as Elaina was about to step ahead, a wild sandslash came hurdling towards her with a powerful ROLLOUT, but was stopped by Ira's own bare hands, tossing a few feet back. It landed harshly, but it wasn't injured to the point where it could escape. "Thanks, Ira. That was a close one. I suppose we should be more careful, huh?" She said, which prompted Ira to nod. With the wild Sandlslash no longer there, they decided to proceed in searching for a dragon pokemon. But, would she even be able to find one?

As Elaina and Ira continued to walk down the path, they spotted a Darumaka, dancing gleefully. Elaina chuckled for a minute, watching its cute round body jump up and down happily. It had noticed them but didn't perceive them as a threat. Instead, it had given both her and Ira a little tiny wave as they passed the Darumaka, not wanting to interrupt its dancing. "At least it wasn't a Darmanitan. If it were, then it probably would have become hostile the moment it saw us," Elaina thought to herself. Luckily though, she had Ira by her side, so she doubted that nothing bad would happen.

Elaina had not been to the Hoenn Region's Safari Zone, yet. Which is exactly she had decided that it'd be the perfect time to do so. She wasn't working today, and it beats sitting around the house all day. Besides, she heard how there were new pokemon that had never been caught by anyone before, so she figured that now would be the best time to try and get while the getting was good! She traveled around the area, searching for never-caught pokemon along with Ira. She had noticed that the big guy liked helping her do these kinds of things, which is why she brought him along with her. "I wonder what kinds of new pokemon are out here?" she thought as she continued to search relentlessly.

Elaina was hopeful that the healing would work, which it did. "Your pokemon are great at healing Melody. I'm sorry that I wasn't all that helpful in that department," Elaina had said. Normally she dealt with assignments that dealt with external dangers than internal ones. However, watching Melody and her pokemon work together the way they did was enjoyable to watch. Plus, it wasn't that bad. She'd never thought she'd see Ira gently hold a budew ever in her life, but then again, Ira was one of the calmest pokemon she ever owned (except when it was battling).

The annihilape put the budew back onto the ground, watching it as it happily scurried away along with the rest of its kin. "That's another job well done in my book. It was a pleasure working with you!" Elaina had said, before she and Ira headed back to Mauville.

Elaina had been walking around route 114, hoping to find some pokemon. Sure, Ghost pokemon were her favorite, however, ever since she caught the Dreepy back at Mauville Hills, she had hoped to find some more dragon pokemon. The reason was that Naga would at least have not only ghost pokemon befriending it, but other dragon pokemon as well. It needed both alongside if it were to stay happy, she felt, so here she was, searching for dragons with Ira, the Annihilape. She was also told that dark types and ground types also like to lurk as well, which caused the wild pokemon to frequently fight over territory. Elaina, however, wasn't all that worried. Ira was strong and able to handle anything that comes their way.
