Elaina decided to not answer the question since she didn't attend the class that Josh spoke of. Instead, she let someone else answer. However, with that being said, she did have a question of her own that perhaps Josh would be able to answer. With the experience she had with Shalin Nariya's Beedrill the other day, she had come to learn the hard way that she'd need protective gear, mainly earplugs, to continue riding her. She wondered if that was the case for all kinds of flying pokemon?

Once someone had finished asking their question, Elaina waited before she decided to speak up. "Excuse me, but I have a question," Deciding to be professional, not wanting to call Josh on a first-name basis. "The other day, I rode on a beedrill who belonged to a Ranger, like me. At first, I didn't know I needed to, but I came to learn that I needed earplugs when riding the beedrill. I was just wondering if that would be the same for all other flying-type pokemon in terms of riding them, or just bug-type pokemon?"

As they flew, before Elaina could realize it, it seemed that Shalin's Yanmega wing beat was so loud, causing the flying mandibuzz ear them to fall. As it was a little too close for Queen Zing's comfort, it raised its stingers as it fell by them, causing Elaina to hold on just a bit tighter, hoping to not cause distress to the beedrill. When Queen Zing returned to it flying normally, Elaina breathed a sigh of relief, no longer needing to hold tightly. She also realized that Shalin also couldn't hear her, only giving her a wave.

With that, Elaina decided to look around once more for any pokemon that she wanted to catch, however, the only thing that she saw in the distance appeared to be a Ducklett. Elaina decided to leave it alone and keep flying onward with Shalin. In fact, it was actually breathtaking, being able to enjoy flying on a pokemon. "I can see why she loves it a lot. It actually is relaxing. And seeing that sunset? It's beautiful," Elaina thought to herself while having a hand over her eyes while keeping her balance.

According to Melody, the pokemon that she called out to help them search for water wasn't in fact a diglett. As it turns out, It was actually a completely different species - not related to one another in any way. "Really? I thought it was some kind of form a diglett took on," Elaina, continuing to look at it with fascination. She liked readying catalogs about pokemon in general. Sure, she preferred reading about Ghost pokemon, but every once in a while, she found herself reading about other kinds as well. In her opinion, it was important to know the aspects of various kinds of pokemon. It was the best way to help them if they ever needed it. After following Melody's Wiglett, Melody spotted a family of budew.

Elaina didn't have to check them, as she could already tell that they didn't look well in the slightest. "Poor things ..." Elaina had said. That was when she had seen a smaller budew a little farther away from the others. It was too weak to even stand, let alone walk close for Melody's Hatterene and Gardevoir to heal it. Elaina was going to gently pick up the sick pokemon herself, however, Ira the Annihilape burst out of its Pokeball, without Elaina even letting it out. It was as if it could sense that the budew was in distress even from inside his Pokeball. At least, that's how it seemed. Ira gently picked up the sick budew, carrying it over toward the Hatterene. It was then that Melody started to answer Elaina's question. Upon hearing her answer, Elaina smiled and said, "Our answers aren't all that different from one another then," Was all Elaina said, continuing to smile as she saw Ira reach the Hatterene for it to heal the Budew.

Elaina surprisingly wasn't all that tired, despite dancing her butt off at the Bemani Fest. She had just finished the Qualifiers and was told there'd be a break, which made her feel relieved. "They went fine ... I think? I think they said I was ranked as a six for a beginner?" Elaina while thinking to herself. Honestly, she had no idea if that was a good thing or not. She wished that she'd be able to have some help from Shalin Nariya , but that would be close to impossible due to the fact that she was much higher in terms of rank. When josh was talking about the Ultra Division, Elaina was kind of impressed with how much he and Shalin both knew about the game, and then there was her, who knew next to nothing. Despite that though, she was quick in terms of what she learned so far. She was definitely new to this sort of thing, but despite that, she was still having fun.

"I realized tho that I'll need a new outfit," she said, looking at her gothic attire. There would be no way she'd be able to dance in it, and plus, it was her favorite outfit. She wasn't gonna risk it getting all sweaty and smelly. "I know this may sound a bit much, since your a guy and I'm a girl, but would be able to help me pick an outfit out?" She asked him. She knew that Josh was really experienced with this sort of thing, and since Shalin was busy at the moment, she kind of had no choice but to ask him.

Elaina was wondering if she would be able to pull this off ... Elaina had no actual plans other than to go shopping, but then she heard about this convention at the mall in Slateport. At first, she thought it was just an ordinary music festival, which she loved. However, she had come to realize when she arrived that it was a BEMANI Fest, which was for a video game about music. Elaina felt like she bamboozled herself, but she wasn't gonna let her money go to waste so, here she was. Luckily, she had plenty of time to prepare. Josh Devlin had even managed to help her pick a new outfit for the occasion since she would be dancing. Yep, you heard that right. dancing.

Despite Elaina's elegant footwork with martial arts, her dancing skills were ... below average. "Relax. Think of it as martial arts training. In a way, dancing is just like fighting ... except you're not actually beating the crap out of someone, or snapping their arm in three different places. You got this!" She thought to herself, despite utterly losing it on the inside. She wore a dark grey tanktop, with matching sweatpants and her hair in a very long ponytail to keep the hair out of her eyes. Honestly, she definitely did not look the same with her new look. Normally, she'd wear dark clothing. However, sacrifices had to be made because she was sure as hell not gonna waste her money.

The bright side to this was that she didn't need to spend money on a hotel since Mauville wasn't all that far away from Slateport. She had already done the qualifiers along with the rest of the people participating. Luckily for her though, it seemed like she'd only be competing against people who were around her own skillset, which made her feel slightly relaxed. She stood in the corner, staring off into space, biting her thumbnail, while not even noticing Shalin Nariya, who seemed to be right at home, unlike her. Luckily, she had her pokemon with Josh in their pokeballs for the time being. She had already gotten her badge, strapped around her neck; attached to a lanyard that came with it.

As she listened to the conversation the rogue and the Rocket grunt were having, she could feel her brain sighing. "Men," she thought to herself. Just as the unknown assailant had gotten the code, Elaina wasn't sure if she should reveal herself or not. She need that Rocket scientist. alive, and explaining to the higher-ups about not following protocol would be ... difficult. She once again mentally sighed, moving out from the corner, with the Annihilape following her lead. "Wait," she called out to the rogue with her hands up, away from her body. She wasn't gonna be perceived as an enemy. Besides, there was no way in hell she could take this guy on. She needed to be smart about this.

As she slowly approached, the rocket grunt looked back and forth between Elaina and the man. "You have an accomplice! That's it, I'm callin-" Without warning as Elaina approached, she gave a swift chop to the man's neck, knocking him unconscious. "There, no distractions, now. Just me and you," She said, looking back at the rogue after the rocket grunt plopped to the ground. "Look, I don't know you, and you don't know me, but I'm here on a job, and I need that scientist alive," She said sternly, pointing towards the panic room door. "If you can manage to help me subdue him, I can call it in, and not mention you. at all. You can leave without anyone knowing you were here and I can have this bastard thrown in jail," she said, being straightforward with the rogue. She also meant what she said too, otherwise, she'd be a fool.

"So, do we gotta deal?" she said, not faltering in her tone or her expression. Ira the Annihilape stood behind her, not doing anything. However, it understood that if the guy and his pokemon tried anything funny, it'd do anything to protect her, even if it meant dying for her.

"It comes with the job," Elaina said, giving Shalin a wink. It was her way of being modest. Sure, Elaina knew that she was strong-willed and all that, but really, she was just an ordinary person, like everyone else. After talking a bit more, they took off together, deciding to look for more wild pokemon. However, after being up in the air, the only thing that Elaina could spot was a Drednaw, poking its head out from a pond below her. "Tempting, but I think I'll let it enjoy its bath," Elaina thought to herself. With her being a few feet apart while flying in the air on Queen Zing, she called out to Shalin, hoping that she'd be able to hear her.

"You find anything!?" Elaina called out to her. She hoped that she would be able to find a pokemon to her liking. Shalin was obviously used to this area of the region, as well as her own pokemon. It was for this reason that Elaina would follow her lead while they were up in the air. Sure, Elaina would be able to find her way, but she also wasn't dumb either. She knew she still had the potential to get lost out here if she wasn't all that careful. That's why the Rangers were taught how to be equipped for such a situation.

As it turned out, Sonya didn't regret it. Piccolo, despite being new to flying with someone on their back, was able to fly with no problem. What's more, was that Piccolo seemed to have to take Sonya into consideration as they ascended into the sky. It was far different than riding a pokemon on land, or at least, that's the conclusion the small water pokemon made. It was like they made their own little story while experiencing it for themselves. It was exciting!

After a good while of flying around, the two of them had decided to head back to the daycare, knowing that their two masters would be back to pick them up soon. "I had so much fun with Piccolo, today! I hope we get to play again!" Sonya thought to herself after Elaina and Sonya were on their way back to Mauville.
