As bright minds discussed happenings within the dream and without, Meltan was more that content to bob within his personal whiskey pool and munch strange forks. After all, he was no scientist, no astronaut, no lorekeeper, no dreamologist, no, nothing of that sort. He was simply a humble Meltan, on the pilgrimage to strength and the moon, though not necessarily in that order. And this? This was simply one small step on one journey, and one giant leap in another.

Although, even he was not so devoid of curiosity as to be unable to wonder. Much the opposite, the hex nut had plenty of questions. For instance: Where was Mr Shred? Why wasn't he here?

Alas, such questions wouldn't be so much as asked, as the book hit in the head, and a new questiom came to mind.

What was the Moontan Village?

In 1609 BC, the famed astronomer Meltileo Meltilei constructed the first known Zoom Lens and turned his eye to the moon. There, it is said, he saw another Meltan, staring back at him with a Zoom Lens of his own. With this newfound discovery, Meltileo suggested the theory of a convergent evolution of Meltankind that survived, lived, and thrived, all upon the surface of the moon - A species of "Moontan", if you would.

The Melmetholic Church, furious with this blatant heresy, immediately exiled Meltileo, forcing him to leave the Meltan Village. Yet as the years turned to decades into centuries into millennia, as the Melmetholic Church suffered a schism that led to the birth of the opposing Protestan Church, and as scientific understanding only further evolved, history grew kinder to Meltileo and his hypothesis. What if, perhaps, there truly were Moontan upon the moon? Otherworldly neighbours, waiting to be met? Yet "what if" is all that has ever been, for though they have long dreamed of it, no Meltan has ever gone to space...

"but yours comes first." in your now empty hand, orichalcum flows forth and takes shape. it's crude at first, like modern art, sharp edges and odd angles without purpose. but as the seconds pass, it manifests into its true form, a dustox of an executioner's axe bursting free from the cascoon of creation. "you should be honoured, mikey-boy. you get to be my whetstone. and once i'm nice and sharp?"[break][break]

you stomp your foot into the ground, heave your axe high, and roar.[break][break]

right on cue, your slither wing springs to life, and it wastes no time going on the offensive. in the blink of an eye, the primeval volcarona is upon the mechanical gallade, ready to smash into its foe at full speed.[break][break]

more orichalcum trickles down your arm and down your fingers. well, if your prey wants to defense curl up, then so be it. you'll simply keep them pinned, and let your dragon do its damage![break][break]
